-CHAPTER 18-
-FUSHIGURO MEGUMI POV-
Alright… did I need to jump into the curse's mouth and down to its stomach to rescue the probable civilians?
The answer was a resounding no. But was it a fun and unique experience that made me explore more of my powerset's potential?
Also yes. How? Pretty simple actually, just hear me out! There are countless pipes in the underground sewers and even more in people's homes. And all of them are darkened right? And I can teleport myself and other things from there right? So what if, with that perspective- you think about a human body? There are shadows inside people's mouths, their windpipes, nose, stomach and god knows where…
So can I open a portal there? The answer is yes. I can. How did I find this out? By opening one in my throat right when Maki was slicing through the curse's heel.
So I can pretty much kill any sorcerer in my eyesight but unfortunately it wasn't very useful for me right now.
Because to be relevant to the current situation I was in, this technique did not work on curses. Why? Simply because I didn't know what it looked like inside. And every curse looked different- so their insides will look different too and it was impossible to know what every curse looked like on the inside unless I had X-Ray vision. So for the time being, it was a human only technique.
Now you will probably "understand" why I decided to pull off a Drax.
Time was wasting, and the people may already be dead so…
Splash! The liquid inside the curse's stomach splashed at me as I fell down into the curse's stomach. "Ugh. Disgusting!" I shouted but there was still a smile on my face. I always wanted to do that!
But my attention was grabbed by the group of pretty beat-up people as they waved to me "H-hey! Did the monster eat you too?" asked a black haired 10 year old girl and she tightly hugged a smaller boy that looked similar to her.
There are also a few other people that look to be in an even more critical situation. "That pin! You're from Jujutsu High aren't you?! Have the higher ups sent any support?!" asks a sleep deprived middle aged man that looked to be on the verge of death as one his arms was missing and was hastily treated and tightly tied using a ripped cloth.
A man was hugging a girl similar to his age, crying as she sweated intensely and shook from unknown causes.
Before answering that man though, I counted everyone that was stuck here. 7… 8… 9… 10… 11… and 12. And they are just the ones that are still alive. I frowned as I saw some of the decomposed dead bodies. Not being as disgusted or horrified as I thought I would've been.
But that can be for many reasons… and I did not want to waste my brain cells on that line of thought. So what if I may be a psychopath? It wouldn't be any different from most of the Jujutsu Sorcerers in this world. And I didn't feel much before coming here either, so it wasn't a new thing.
But it was a big deal that a curse had managed to eat so many people in such a short amount of time. I should tell Gojo about this when we leave.
My attention was brought back as the boy and his sister tugged his pants in a pleading look and I smiled confidently at the group of people as I patted their heads. "Worry not everyone! Your rescue is here!"
Another presumable sorcerer looks at me in anger, probably too tired of cheery people like me. "Shut up brat! Just accept that we are going to die here! The higher ups are not going to send reinforcements for cannon fodder like us!"
But by the time his rant had ended I wasn't even focusing on him, rather I was looking at the fleshy wall of the curse's stomach in front of me. The man annoyed by me constantly ignoring me got up and put a hand on my shoulder. "Hey! What grade are you even on? Listen to your superior!"
I looked back at the man, flaring my CE to make him back off. "I said I was going to rescue you guys, didn't I?" I looked past the wide eyed gaze of the sorcerer to once again pat the heads of the little kids. "Don't worry kids! Big brother is here now!" I smiled confidently and looked forward pointing my one CE charged and shadowy hand at the meaty wall and-
"Get ready for some fresh air!" and I swiped my fingers two times over one another in an X shape.
SLICE!
-3RD PERSON POV-
"What do we do now?!" Maki yelled outloud in bewilderment as she watches her new classmate get swallowed up by the giant curse.
Panda looks at his friends seriously. "We have to exorcise that curse to rescue Megumi!" Then he turns towards Yuta. "Yuta! Can you summon Rika to support us?"
Yuta looks conflicted as he dodges the downed Curse's blows with Inumaki. "I don't know…" But then he remembers the crazy smile on Megumi's face when he jumped into the Curse's mouth. "But Panda-kun! I think that Megumi had figured something out! He must've had a plan-!"
SLICE! SLICE! X!
-And at that moment almost as if on cue a blast- no! Two large slashes made of pure darkness- lacking cursed energy -cut through the Curse's stomach as it yelled out in pain, leaking purplish liquid onto the floor as it attempted to close the slashes in its stomach back with his enormous hands.
But it was for naught as- SLICE! Two more slashes cut off both its hands, as the yellow curse once again cried out in pain. "Did you think I was going to lose to such a weak and pathetic curse!?" Megumi yells out as he comes jumping out of the curses' stomach while-
HOLDING ONTO A BUNCH OF PEOPLE!?
A light bulb lights up in everyone's head at that. So he jumped in to save all the civilians because he couldn't attack the curse until he was sure that it wouldn't harm any of them. What they didn't know was that Megumi had dozens of different ways to rescue the civilians once he figured out that he could use the shadows inside someone's body, but he just wanted to experience how it felt like to get swallowed by an enemy and then rip yourself out from their stomach like a badass…
Basically he wanted to look cool to his classmates…
But since they didn't know this, their view of him had increased by a lot.
Megumi landed on the floor with a boom, letting go of everyone that he was carrying and quickly holding out a handsign in the shape of a deer's head. "[Madoka]"
"Neigh!" The blue furred deer was gently summoned out of the shadows, and the intelligent Shikigami quickly understood her mission, going from person to person and healing them using RCT one by one. Instantly saving those people from the dire situation they were under.
Megumi then looked at his fellow first years and smirked- purple liquid covering him -as he held out a handsign depicting a snake's head. "[Orochi]"
After all, how can Megumi forget about the huge lizard curse? It was already in such a pain, it was better to just end it right?
A humongous building sized head of a white snake, bigger than any curse that the other four students had ever seen was instantly there. Having bitten and swallowed the huge curse… in one bite.
And that is just the head of that Shikigami… so what is its actual size? Maki wondered internally, finally understanding why Ten Shadows stood alongside techniques like the Gojo Clan's Limitless. Despite this, fires of ambition and challenge burned brighter in Maki Zenin's heart. But don't think I would be left behind!
Megumi instantly unsummoned Orochi, Gama and Rabbit Escape now that the fight was done. Though he still kept Madoka out because she was helping the civilians both mentally (positive energy high) and physically.
And then finally he turned towards the gobsmacked first years, smirking confidently and striking a pose as the purplish liquid on him disintegrated. "Did you miss me?"
And just like that Megumi's first mission came to a successful close…
The curse was exorcised; the civilians were rescued, with a very low mortality rate. Meanwhile Megumi had also learnt a new thing that could come in handy sometime in the future.
It would later be found out that the reason the Curse had eaten so many people was that some college dropouts had been illegally running regular tours of this place to tourists and horror enthusiasts, which eventually ended with them getting eaten by the curse.
With the recovered sorcerers singing praises of one Fushiguro Megumi, the Inheritor of Ten Shadows Technique, First Year student at Jujutsu High and Semi-First Grade Sorcerer…
His legend had just begun.

A/N: I'll admit not my best chapter, looking back it definitely could've been written better. Posting another chapter in a few minutes.
