Chapter 10 - Disappointed

Hee-mang entered his room with a flush of embarrassment on his cheeks. Just who was he kidding. Finding a wife. Being hated on seemed to be what the past him and the present him shared in common.

"Ha. What was that look I saw on their faces again?" he said as he collapsed on the bed.

"Some looked shocked to see me, but wouldn't speak a word to me. Some didn't even bother hiding their disgust, was this person such a hated person."

He rolled over on his face and sighed into the pillow.

Now that I think of it, when I woke up here, I met myself in a pool. I jumped into a river and met myself in a pool, this is very confusing. That definitely was not a dream, if it was, I wouldn't feel like a stranger in someone else's body. But why would the women of this place look down on a very handsome man? It's not everyday that you get to see such a handsome face. There must have been a reason, let me think back on it.

Some while ago

"You seem awfully quiet for one taking someone on a tour." Hee-mang said to Hanbit, who was sitted opposite to him.

Hanbit felt confused and conflicted. He knew this trick so well. Whenever he had done something he didn't find necessary to share with his young master, his young master would have them ride around town in a carriage and wouldn't stop staring at him, till he would spill it. This case was different. Whenever such happened, it was always a trivial matter, but the matter at hand was not a trivial one. Hanbit looked out of the carriage, looking disheartened.

'I am disappointed master. For you to think I would stoop so low as to betray you hurts me more than you can ever imagine master.' he thought to himself.

Hee-mang was getting pissed off literally every second he spent with Hanbit.

'Has he always been this rude to his young master? Seems like we both have it rough.' he said, addressing himself and the owner of the body.

'But nevermind, as soon as I get myself a wife, I will dispose of this rude servant. You have every right to be respected as his young master, whether or not you are the one paying him.' he thought to himself with a firm look on his face.

"Just what made me think it was easy to get a wife around here?"

He was tired. Tired of his tries and failures. They were now in town and were walking around. He would catch the glimpse of the people, especially the ladies, staring at him, then whispering to themselves, and he wasn't oblivious to how they laughed. It sounded annoying to his ears. It wasn't the shy laugh females did when seeing someone they liked. It sounded more like mockery.

"Ahem." he cleared his throat so as to get Hanbit's attention.

Hanbit noticed and moved closer to his young master.

"Say, have I done something stupid that has soiled my name?"

Hanbit looked at his young master, perplexed at the fact that his young master had the look of one expecting an answer.

'Would I be stupid enough to answer such a question?' Hanbit thought to himself as he rolled his eyes, looking tired. And he really was tired. 'It's as if he is waiting for me to slip and reveal something about my betrayal, which can't happen, since I didn't betray him. This is exhausting. It's obvious that he didn't lose his memories, he is just faking it. I would be a big fool to answer that question. It would then seem as though I am joining those who call him stupid names, and that I see him as an idiot who can't do anything right by himself.'

"Hanbit"

He heard the solemn voice of his young master and came out of his thoughts

"Yes, master." he stops in his tracks right after his master does.

"Take me back home. I have nothing to do here."

Hanbit bowed and excused himself to bring the carriage around.

"I'm beginning to have a bad feeling about his silence. Just what sort of person was this Hee-mang before now?"
