Chapter 447 - DSMW [447]

"—Trap Card "Last Turn" activate!"

After the two White Dragons violently clashed, Seto Kaiba flipped over a Trap Card that was enough to settle everything with one blow, directly declaring the entire duel's outcome.

[Can only be activated during your opponent's turn when your own Life Points are 1000 or less.]

Miles exclaimed, "The set card was actually Last Turn?"

No wonder Kaiba showed no hesitation or doubt after being blasted away by Deep-Eyes White Dragon's effect.

It turned out that ever since he set those two cards at the end of the previous turn, Seto Kaiba had already intended to decide the outcome of this White Dragon vs. White Dragon duel this turn.

"What kind of card is Last Turn?"

Seeing both Miles and Chi wearing grave, thoughtful expressions, while she alone looked like a clueless idiot, Aisha stared in confusion.

Chi explained, "It's a card that ignores Life Point rules and decides the entire duel with a single card!"

"?(°?°)? A single card that decides the duel… there's actually a card like that?"

Even though its activation conditions—Life Points 1000 or below, and only during the opponent's turn—were strict, the effect of [Last Turn] was indeed worthy of such restrictions.

Seto Kaiba thrust his hand forward and declared sternly, "After the Trap Card Last Turn is activated, I can choose 1 monster on the field. Except for that monster, all cards in both players' hands and on their fields are sent to the Graveyard. After that, the opponent can Special Summon 1 monster from their Deck in Attack Position. Those two monsters battle, and at the end of the turn, the player who still has a monster on the field wins the duel. Any other result is treated as a draw."

Activating this Trap was equivalent to wiping out every monster the players controlled, hand included, except for the single monster Kaiba chose to remain.

And once [Last Turn] truly applies, the outcome of the duel no longer has anything to do with either player's Life Points. Only which monster survives the final battle matters.

"So that's how the card works!"

After hearing Seto Kaiba's explanation, Aisha finally understood.

But once she understood and looked back toward the field, she revealed yet another layer of confusion.

"Doesn't Seto Kaiba only have a 3000 Attack [Blue-Eyes Chaos Dragon] on the field?"

Although Blue-Eyes Chaos Dragon had an effect that let it break through all monsters when it declared an attack during its Ritual Summon turn, right now it was Kaima's turn—Blue-Eyes Chaos Dragon couldn't use its effect. In this final clash, it was nothing more than a 3000 Attack monster.

Chi added, "But even 3000 Attack is already a value most Decks can't surpass."

After [Last Turn] activated, all of Kaima's cards—hand included—would be sent to the Graveyard, which naturally included her current 4000 Attack Deep-Eyes White Dragon.

After that, Kaima would be allowed to Special Summon a monster from her Deck for the final battle.

Everyone knew: though Blue-Eyes White Dragon had 3000 Attack as a standard combat benchmark, looking solely at the Main Deck, a monster that could be Special Summoned directly with 3000 Attack was already considered top-tier.

Aisha's eyes lit up. "I see! Even if Kaima manages to pull out a Blue-Eyes White Dragon with 3000 Attack from her Deck, the result would just be a draw!"

"Hahahahaha, a draw?"

Standing tall, Seto Kaiba once again threw his head back and burst into manic laughter, as if Aisha had just delivered the funniest joke of the year.

"In the ultimate White Dragon showdown, the only one who will ever claim victory will always be me, Seto Kaiba! I chain to the activation of Last Turn and activate the other set card!"

Before ending his previous turn, Kaiba had indeed set two cards.

If he were only activating [Last Turn], that second set card would serve no purpose.

A chained activation—later in the chain, earlier in resolution.

At the very moment [Last Turn] descended, the Trap Kaiba chained was the key card that would shatter the White Dragon duel's fragile balance.

"—Trap Card "Necro Fusion" activate! I banish monsters from my Graveyard as Fusion Materials to perform a Necro Fusion!"

A pale-blue AR glow surged deep into the Duel Disk's Graveyard area as Kaiba sent out three Fusion Material cards for Necro Fusion.

"I fuse the two [Blue-Eyes White Dragon] in my Graveyard together with [Blue-Eyes Alternative White Dragon]! O ultimate dragon that rules before the final battle—!"

The spectral images of all three White Dragons soared magnificently from Kaiba's Graveyard, gathering at one singular point in the sky.

"Strong! Invincible! Supreme!"

"Shatter! Pulverize! Roar in triumph!"

"O ultimate dragon of aberrant evolution, spread your wings in fury and reveal the noble form forged from absolute power! Fusion Summon! [Blue-Eyes Alternative Ultimate Dragon]!"

[Blue-Eyes Alternative Ultimate Dragon] Level 12│LIGHT│Dragon│4500 ATK

[This face-up card cannot be targeted or destroyed by your opponent's effects.]

Its white wings spread like those of a demon. Though born of three Blue-Eyes White Dragons, it was neither the original Blue-Eyes Ultimate Dragon nor the evolved Neo Blue-Eyes Ultimate Dragon.

This aberrant, variant fusion—Blue-Eyes Alternative Ultimate Dragon—descended onto Seto Kaiba's field, its three alternate heads unleashing an earth-shaking roar.

Kaiba raised his hand toward the sky, pointing at the fused ultimate dragon.

"After the Fusion is complete, the effect of Last Turn now officially resolves! I choose my monster on the field—your final opponent!"

Since he had chained [Necro Fusion], summoning Blue-Eyes Alternative Ultimate Dragon in advance, Kaiba's choice for the decisive clash was already obvious.

"Go forth! My strongest, my invincible… Blue-Eyes Alternative Ultimate Dragon!!"

With 4500 Attack, Blue-Eyes Alternative Ultimate Dragon stepped onto the battlefield. Storm winds raged instantly, forming a wall of violent gales around the arena as [Last Turn] created the final battleground, enclosing Kaiba and Kaima within.

At the same time, all of Kaima's cards—her hand, her Blue-Eyes White Dragon, and her Deep-Eyes White Dragon—were sent to the Graveyard due to the effect of [Last Turn].

"Come now! Choose the monster from your Deck that will face my ultimate Alternative Ultimate Dragon in the final battle!"

"You bastard!"

The young girl's brows tightened. In this final battlefield whipped into chaos by raging storm winds, the towering Blue-Eyes Alternative Ultimate Dragon made Kaima's tiny loli form look even smaller.

"This is bad… super bad, Miles!"

The moment Blue-Eyes Alternative Ultimate Dragon appeared through Fusion, the entire tone of the Last Turn showdown changed in an instant.

They had all thought Seto Kaiba's representative monster would only be a 3000 Attack Blue-Eyes Chaos Dragon.

Who could have predicted that Kaiba would chain a summon, bringing forth a 4500 Attack monster—one with majestic protection, unable to be destroyed by effects or targeted, Blue-Eyes Alternative Ultimate Dragon.

"Does Kaima even have a monster in her Deck that can stand against it?"

"No."

Miles gave the answer.

If Kaima could also use Fusion—if it were Ultimate Dragon vs. Ultimate Dragon—she might have had a fighting chance.

But Seto Kaiba, by activating [Last Turn], had seized complete initiative. He could choose any monster on his field to participate, while Kaima could only Special Summon a monster from her Deck.

Based on Miles's experience running the Blue-Eyes Deck twice before, Kaima's current build simply did not contain a monster capable of defeating Blue-Eyes Alternative Ultimate Dragon.

"You bastard… if this is the kind of fight you want!"

Yet, beyond Miles's expectations, in the face of a battle that looked utterly unwinnable, the loli-form Kaima didn't shrink back at all—she only grew fiercer.

Without the slightest hesitation, she decisively pulled from her Deck the monster she intended to pit against Kaiba's Alternative Ultimate Dragon.

"Then I'll take the White Dragon and push our battle's fury to its limit, answering your Last Turn with everything I have!"

"White Dragon?"

"The monster I choose to send out… is Blue-Eyes White Dragon!"

The ultimate result of a White Dragon civil war—Blue-Eyes White Dragon!

As Kaima's final summon, the soaring white dragon spirit drawn from her Deck was the strongest trump card she could field in this Last Turn.

"So it really won't work after all…"

Seeing Blue-Eyes White Dragon standing against Blue-Eyes Alternative Ultimate Dragon, Aisha's face dimmed with disappointment.

No matter the comparison—Attack, resistance, innate protection—Kaiba's monster overwhelmingly surpassed Kaima's.

"There's no way a Blue-Eyes White Dragon can beat an Ultimate Dragon."

Everyone present shared Aisha's belief. Purely from visible stats, Kaiba's Alternative Ultimate Dragon was unquestionably stronger.

But Kaima, who refused to retreat even a single step, sent her White Dragon charging through the raging walls of wind born from Last Turn—then ordered it straight into the attack.

"Even Blue-Eyes Alternative Ultimate Dragon cannot halt the steps of our strongest! Go—Blue-Eyes White Dragon! Burst Stream of Destruction!"

"Foolish. Seeking your own end! Last Turn—counterattack, Blue-Eyes Alternative Ultimate Dragon! Ultimate Variant Triple Burst!"

With that clash, the collision that would decide the White Dragon vs. White Dragon duel was set.

Within the storm wall of the final battle, crossing beams of explosive white light burst outward, flooding the entire underground chamber with violent radiance.

3000 Attack striking 4500 Attack. In a normal duel, Kaima's 1000 Life Points would have vanished instantly.

However, on the battlefield created by the Trap Card [Last Turn], victory and defeat no longer depended on Life Points at all.

In this decisive clash between monsters—only the one left standing would become the victor.

Seto Kaiba roared, "My strongest monster—[Blue-Eyes Alternative Ultimate Dragon]—wins!"

"Keep dreaming!" Kaima shouted back with equal intensity. "Even if it's just Blue-Eyes White Dragon, my Blue-Eyes will not fall here!"

A holy radiance of revival ignited on Kaima's field, enveloping the Blue-Eyes White Dragon that should have been destroyed in this battle, elevating its immaculate white form to an even more resplendent brilliance.

Kaiba's pupils trembled. "That light…!"

"It's the card I drew at the start of this turn!"

Kaima had drawn a Spell Card when her turn began—but before she ever got a chance to use it, [Last Turn] sent it from her hand to the Graveyard.

A card that should have perished with her hand had now resurrected as a shield of light around her Blue-Eyes White Dragon.

"Because of [Last Turn], my Spell Card [Return of the Dragon Lords] was sent to the Graveyard!"

[Return of the Dragon Lords] was a Spell capable of reviving Level 7 and 8 Dragon monsters.

But the effect Kaima invoked now was its second ability—usable from the Graveyard.

[If a Dragon monster you control would be destroyed by battle or card effect, you can banish this card from your Graveyard instead.]

"To prevent this battle destruction—I banish [Return of the Dragon Lords] from my Graveyard! Even your Alternative Ultimate Dragon cannot defeat my Blue-Eyes White Dragon in this Last Turn!"

The crossing white radiance fully detonated, its particles scattering across the field and simultaneously blowing away the violent storm wall raised by [Last Turn].

When the winds vanished, both monsters still stood.

Seto Kaiba's Blue-Eyes Alternative Ultimate Dragon.

Kaima Seth's Blue-Eyes White Dragon.

Both had survived the final clash.

Such a result triggered the other ruling of [Last Turn] without question:

[All other outcomes are treated as a draw.]

After several turns of fierce White Dragon bombardment, both monsters remained—ending the duel in a draw.

"Told you, sigh…" The blue-eyed, white-haired girl let out a long breath. "If you let those two duel, it's never going to reach a conclusion."

"Don't tell me… you knew from the beginning this fight would end in a draw?"

"Because both sides are Blue-Eyes White Dragons. Two parallel lines that were never meant to intersect. Only meeting temporarily because of the Obelisk Tower's power. Even so, in all the countless branches of fate, there exists no ending where Blue-Eyes White Dragon destroys Blue-Eyes White Dragon."

The Blue-Eyes Girl's words resonated with what Miles had felt from the very beginning.

Under normal circumstances, whether in the world of Duel Monsters or on the Spirit Continent, one would never see a Blue-Eyes vs. Blue-Eyes duel.

Fate would not allow Blue-Eyes White Dragons to oppose one another. Neither Seto Kaiba nor Kaima Seth could ever truly defeat—or lose to—a Blue-Eyes White Dragon.

"The one who can truly alter fate, the one who can change Seto Kaiba's three-thousand-year obsession…"

After a soft sigh, the Blue-Eyes Girl pointed toward Miles—her fingertip landing over the Millennium Puzzle on his chest.

"Today is an extremely important day. What happens here will become the place closest in concept to the Underworld. So go; use the power of the Gods, and duel Seto Kaiba!"

"The place closest in concept to the Underworld!"

Before the Blue-Eyes Girl could continue her explanation, the earphone linked to Seto Kaiba's AR Duel Disk buzzed with Mokuba Kaiba's voice.

"Big Brother, everything is ready on this end!"

Today was extremely important—not just the Blue-Eyes Girl, even Kaiba had emphasized this earlier to Jinno.

To reach the Underworld and duel the Pharaoh, Kaiba had poured the entirety of KaibaCorp's resources into researching technology that could let a human cross the boundary to the realm of the dead.

And the first experiment of that technology was today.
