"What do you mean?"
"I set this up for myself?" Rena asked her younger self.
"Yeah"
Her breath became hazy; the air around became tight. It felt like she was drowning, her eyes scanned with fear, her hair stood on its end.
The once unwavering leader felt something burning deep within fear: Fear. A variable Rena believed she had long controlled.
'Disgusting'
'Disgusting'
'Disgusting'
'Disgusting'
'Disgusting'
That ran through Rena's mind. Her finger clawed her face, not enough to inflict injuries but it hurt regardless
"How unsightly but very interesting"
Rena snapped her head towards Young Rena who walked across the room
As she swirled her fingers through the air, a terrible sound filled the room.
Rena covered her ears, yet despite that when Rena turned her attention towards young Rena, she just looked back unfazed carrying a devilish grin.
If Rena could describe herself from the past, one word muttered through the silence
"Demon"
Snapping her head towards Rena, Young Rena instantly reappeared in front of Rena, eyes inches from each other.
The sounds of their breath echoed throughout the room
"Demon, huh? When was the last time someone called me that?" Young Rena said shooting a glance towards Rena
She stepped closer, Rena stepped backwards.
She stepped forward again—and again, Rena retreated.
The perfect collapse of perfection, the manipulative leader who did not care regardless of what was going to happen except for the result cowering in fear
The reason was simple: Rena began taking interest in the feeling of those humans
"You're betraying his expectations… you know that, right?" Young Rena said with a cold stare
"What do you mean?"
"When was the last time I heard from dad himself, prancing around carrying fake prophecies so you don't lose the people around you"
Young Rena smiled curved up mischievously
"You are nothing but a hypocritical bitch"
Stretching her hands towards Rena face, Rena fell backwards in fear
"Don't worry, I am going to be in charge for a long time"
"Sweet dreams Rena"
From that day onward, Rena became a victim of the Psyche condition
Meanwhile
In a realm of their own stood the eight gods: the god of time, the god of lust, the god of souls, the god of war, the god of light, the god of judgment, the god of pestilence and lastly the god of darkness
Each with their distinct personality but united as one, though that had not been the case for the past millennium.
Each god carried a role which shaped the world and their actions were somewhat righteous in their eyes.
They did not care how their chosen ones did it, as long they brought the expected peace they wanted to achieve in the book or testament each held
Their testament, each distinct in their own right with their own shapes and rules but with one goal in mind
World Peace
Thus, the testament being different made them butt head for so long that they had to unanimously declare a rule on themselves
No Use of The Testament when gathered
"Hey, what do you think our apostles are up to" a voice aired her concern, with a sweet gentle smile and childlike personality.
It was obvious she was the child of the whole group: the god of lust
"Don't know, we were made not to interfere right" his voice roared like thunder which made every other god look lazily
It was the god of time
"Doesn't matter" each other god echoed in unison
"To the matter at hand, it seems two of our gods are moving with their own ulterior motives"
"...."
Silence enveloped the whole room
"god of light and god of darkness, care to give us your reason?" god of time asked intrigued
The god of time was burdened with knowledge but that instead of weighing him down fueled his interest in uncovering more hidden depths
"My esteemed gods, I assure you I have nothing planned. Was it not made that we don't interfere in the matters of the apostles. Is that not why we sent the Seraphs, filled the testame-"
Before the god could finish his statement, all eyes flared towards him with murderous intent. The intent was so strong that if humans dwelled among their midst, they would be erased
"Watch your tone god of light, you know the rule!" the god of war which had been watching with no care in the world said calmly
"Understood"
"As I was saying, we sent the seraphs and filled them with blank pages or imprints containing nothing in their brains"
"Was it not all to see if they could reach the very conclusion we tried reaching while helping them"
"So, questioning me who had done nothing now, doesn't that matter the rest of you here heretics and hypocrites"
His words stung with a sharp dagger but carried truth within them
"Understood, what of you, god of darkness"
He stood up, posture straight; his long hair was messy and his eye glared crimson
"Let me make three things clear" the god of darkness said with his fingers
"One: I never asked to be made a spectator in this sick game; heck I did not want to be some god"
"Two: I have a score to settle with an apostle but I would back off and refrain from breaking the rules, watching like a puppet I was made to be like you lot"
"Three: No one tells me how to teach my apostle; you may check your findings but no proof says I have done anything to him"
The god of darkness said with a half smirk across his face. Not one of pride, respect or admiration but one of pure vengeance like the vast void which his heart occupied
The rest remained quiet for a couple more seconds
"You are definitely right, that is why as of such, we would refrain from throwing accusations"
"Glad you know"
