Chapter 722 - Chapter 722: You mean to say that I shouldn’t hate this thing?

"Senator Kasai has departed for his shuttle, mistress," Gan stated as he entered the room.

"Hmm," Fiere Lucent replied while tapping the rim of her glass.

"Something wrong, mistress?" Gan asked.

"That whole deal went too smoothly," Fiere replied.

"You call the Yliaster DX Six getting stolen smooth?" Gan asked with a raised eyebrow.

"Well, no, not that part, thanks to my new pet," Fiere replied before asking, "Speaking of Jackson, did you check him out?"

"I did. Everything he told you was accurate," Gan replied.

"Why did no one tell me that I employed a part-succuba male?" Fiere asked in annoyance.

"That I can't answer, mistress," Gan replied.

"Have the head of security report to me tomorrow; I will question her myself about this," Fiere ordered.

"As you wish," Gan replied.

"Speaking of Jackson, I believe it's time I tested his capabilities personally. Where is he?" Fiere asked.

"One of the guards mentioned that Nogiss was giving him a tour of the mansion," Gan replied.

"Really?" Fiere asked in surprise.

"Indeed," Gan answered.

"Unexpected, since I hinted that he would claim her virginity in the future; perhaps I can use this to my advantage," Fiere replied thoughtfully.

"I would remind you that the higher-ups are starting to get impatient; if you continue to fail in getting results, they will likely let one of your competitors try," Gan stated.

"I'm aware," Fiere replied in annoyance before ordering, "Have them both report to the chamber. It's time to give Nogiss another lesson."

"Both?" Gan asked in surprise.

"Arisu once again failed to satisfy me, so I plan to have her watch while I get my satisfaction from Jackson," Fiere stated while licking her lips.

"Just don't forget that your main purpose is to turn Nogiss, not get satisfaction from Jackson," Gan said with a sigh.

"Why can't it be both?" Fiere asked with a smile as she got up and made her way out of the room.

After leaving and locking the office, Adam received a notification on his stream.

[[Stream Quest Complete]]

[[Reward: Learn OfficialKasumi's secret]

[Noobkiller9000 (Earth): Wait, it's complete just like that? But we didn't really learn anything.]

[Phoenixempress (Fenix Nest): All the quest stipulated was to eavesdrop on the conversation. If Kasumi wanted more information, she should have specified the parameters better.]

[OfficialKasumi (Aqua Primus): At least he got some interesting footage of Arisu Kasai. Seems I need to reveal my secret ot him after you all arrive on Aqua Primus.]

Eytelis continued to give Adam a tour of the mansion since that was what she had told one of the guards they were doing earlier.

As they were walking across the mansion's main hall, they suddenly heard Gan call out to them, causing them to stop and turn to him.

"Miss Nogiss, the mistress orders you and Mr Ash to report to the chamber at once."

"Already?" Eytelis asked with a panicked expression.

"Again!" Gan replied with a smirk before walking off.

"I never expected you to react like that?" Asked in a hushed whisper.

"It's how I always reacted in the past, so it's best I keep up appearances, at least for now," Eytelis replied as she started walking.

"If you say so," Adam replied before asking, "I've been wondering. I can understand why everyone calls you Nogiss, as it's probably to hide your real identity.

But why did Fiere call you that when she was torturing you?"

"Because of the security feed in the chamber," Eytelis replied. "It's monitored by the security guards, but they don't know about my real identity. As far as I'm aware, only the bitch and the butler know."

"The bitch and the butler? Sounds like the title for a movie," Adam said with a smirk.

"I know, right," Eytelis said with a smile.

"So does that mean Gan is also part of the organisation?" Adam asked.

"Yes, he's Fiere's real assistant and just plays the part of her butler," Eytelis answered.

"Hmm, that explains why he has access to her office then," Adam said thoughtfully. "So are those two the only members of the organisation here?"

"That I know of," Eytelis replied. "Everyone employed by the bitch believes that they are working for an investor.

A small number of them, like those at the docks, know that she's actually a weapons dealer and believe that's where she really made her fortune.

She uses that secret to hide the true secret that she's part of the organisation."

[DeverinianLordMalacoss (Deverinian 9): Hiding a secret within a secret, huh?]

[NonpareilRaphilia (Aaru): A clever idea. Everyone has secrets after all, but you don't normally go looking further once you've found a person's biggest secret.]

Adam nodded in understanding before asking, "I never asked, but does this organisation have a name?"

[Tessisdabest (Imperial Down): I've also been curious about that.]

[Phoenixempress (Fenix Nest): Agreed. I mean, so far we've just been calling it the organisation.]

[Noobkiller9000 (Earth): She's not going to say Spector, is she?]

[HackerSu (Trillion): That's the name of his AI, dumbass.]

[Noobkiller9000 (Earth): It's also the name of a terrorist organisation from a famous secret agent series.]

[HackerSu (Trillion): Oh really? My bad.]

"No idea. If it does, they never said it when I was nearby," Eytelis replied as she stopped before a door and said, "We're here."

After she finished speaking, Eytelis opened the door before the pair proceeded inside.

As they entered, Adam looked around to find that the room looked more like a dungeon than a chamber.

The ceiling, floor and walls were all made up of the same dull grey interconnecting metallic-looking square panels.

Along one wall was a bench filled with pieces of equipment, some of which appeared to be stained with a green substance.

A cold, uncomfortable-looking chair sat at the edge of a sloped pit that led down to a grate.

The grate and parts of the slope were stained with the same green substance as the equipment.

[StealthAssassin9 (Earth): Damn, this room just screams torture.]

[Justiceistruth (Earth): What's with the slope in the centre that leads to a grate?]

[Gunlovergirl (Earth): The grate's probably a drain. She probably hangs people above it so any blood falls on the slope before going down the drain.]

[Prestigious3horns (Vinox 2): Fuck, that's dark.]

[Gunlovergirl (Earth): It's actually fairly common and makes it easier to clean up after a session.]

[Handsome3horns (Vinox 2): Why does it sound like you have experience?]

[Gunlovergirl (Earth): Hehe.]

[Handsome3horns (Vinox 2): You're scary sometimes, you know that?]

[Gunlovergirl (Earth): Good, make sure you remember that next time you say something stupid.]

"Damn bitch never bothered to clean up last time; if she really were to torture me again, I could get a disease or something," Eytelis cursed.

"You mean those green stains are…" Adam began, only for Eytelis to say.

"My blood, yes."

[Celebrityhunter69 (Earth): Woah, her blood's green.]

[StealthAssassin9 (Earth): Is it blood? Don't trees bleed sap?]

[Justiceistruth (Earth): Can trees even get diseases?]

[OfficialMuriel (Aqua Primus): Yes, Dryads bleed, and yes, they can get diseases.]

"It's fine. You won't be the one being tortured this time," Adam said reassuringly.

"That's right," Eytelis said excitedly. "I can't wait to make that bitch scream."

"So what's with the chair?" Adam asked. "I saw you hung up in the air previously, and it looks too uncomfortable for Fiere to use."

"It's a type of detainment chair," Eytelis began to explain. "You can bind the person sitting in it."

As she spoke, Eytelis walked up to the chair and pressed somewhere on the back of it.

A second later, metallic-looking restraints appeared where a person's wrists, shins and neck would be.

"It even has an electrocution function," Eytelis stated as she pressed another button, causing a current of energy to visibly pass through the metallic restraints.

Eytelis deactivated the chair, causing it to return to normal as she said in anger, "She doesn't use it much, as the bitch prefers to inflict the pain herself."

"With that energy whip," Adam said as he remembered what he witnessed earlier.

"Yeah, you saw that, huh?" Eytelis asked as she walked over to the equipment bench.

She picked one of the items up before tossing it to Adam, who caught it.

"Hmm," Adam replied as he inspected the grip before pressing a button on it.

As he did, a red beam of energy shot out of the end, similar to his beam saber, except it was much longer and quickly lost its rigidity.

[AlamoMatador4thewin (Earth): How the heck is something like that even possible?]

[Whostolemyduck (Earth): The beam saber is one thing, but the energy this thing produces is so limber; how is that even possible?]

[AlamoMatador4thewin (Earth): I know, right? I could probably understand it if it was running along a rope or wire or something, but there's nothing.]

[Gunlovergirl (Earth): I want one.]

Adam flicked the whip to test it out and saw that it left scratches on the floor where it hit.

After trying it out a couple more times, he turned it off before throwing it back to Eytelis, who caught it.

She stared at the thing for several moments with a complicated look on her face.

"Feeling conflicted?" Adam asked as he saw the look on her face.

"I'm honestly not sure what I'm feeling; this weapon caused me so much pain and now I plan to use it to inflict pain," Eytelis replied.

"There's a saying on my planet," Adam began. "Weapons themselves are not inherently evil; it's the person who wields them that is.

While that thing might have inflicted great pain on you, it wasn't the whip itself that decided to do that, but the person wielding it."
