"So there are werewolves and hunters and a supposed abomination and that's just what you know so far," said Damian. Stiles and Scott shared a look and nodded. Damian laughed. He stared at them both for a few seconds before laughing again. Stiles and Scott looked at each other having the same puzzled expression on their face. Damian slowly stopped his laughter before saying, "I'm sorry but this whole pretending to have no idea about the supernatural is so hard."
"Sorry, what did you say?" questioned Stiles
"You heard me. I mean even if I didn't know beforehand, it would be easy to find out with how horrible you are at hiding it." he replied. Stiles and Scott both opened their mouths to protest but couldn't muster up words to defend themselves. Damian sighed and took a cigarette from a pack of B&H Blue and started smoking. He offered one to both Stiles and Scott who refused before he sighed and said, "You know what you want to ask. Out with it."
"Are you a werewolf?" Stiles gulped before asking.
"Stiles, if I were a werewolf, don't you think Scott would've smelt me by now. Take another guess." Damian replied
"Are you a hunter or what?" Stiles asked once again
"Many believe I suffer from porphyria. Do with that what you will Stiles," Damian revealed. Scott seemed puzzled and a contemplative look began to appear on Stiles' face. Damian kept smoking. Inhaling and exhaling as Stiles thought. The only human's face brightened as he seemed to have an epiphany. He looked at Damian and almost began examining him.
"You're a vampire. Like an actual living breathing vampire, well obviously except the whole living and breathing part but you literally are a bloodsucker. Oh my god you need to tell me everything about this and how it works. Do you need to breathe or what? There is so much I need to ask you," bombarded Stiles. Scott had a look of horror mixed with sympathy before Damian says,
"Stiles we can get to the whole interview later. I am in need of a good night's rest-"
"And some blood," Stiles quipped. Damian nodded and chuckled before putting out his cigarette and stretched. "Where you do you get your blood?" Stiles questioned. Damian sighed at Stiles and then looked at him and said,
"As I said you can ask me questions later. I haven't slept in two days and I need rest for this whole debriefing tomorrow." Stiles protested but Scott grabbed him and let Damian go.
"We'll see you tomorrow at 3pm at my house, " Scott said.
"Yeah just send me the address and I'll be there," Damian agreed. The three boys then left. Scott to pick up his mom and Stiles to go home and plug in the USB. Damian walked out of the parking lot and seemingly vanished.
Scott stepped out of his mother's car and closed the door. He felt his wrist being grabbed and he was forced to turn and felt cold steel force its way into his stomach. Scott doubled over onto a old man's shoulder and gasped in pain. Gerard's face was right in front of him.
"Don't move. Even though I can practically feel the tissue around the blade already trying to heal, you never know with a Beta. Besides, we'd lose this perfect picture. The kind old grandfather embracing his favorite grandson after hearing good news from the doctor," mocked Gerard. Scott stayed as still as he could and clenched his teeth. "That's right. I can play the nice, doddering Grandpa who likes to cook and tell stories, be sweet and charming. And trust me I can do it far better than you playing average, broken-hearted teenage boy. Are you listening?" Gerard twisted the blade and jerked it upwards making Scott almost collapse. Scott nodded in response to his question. "Perfect. Now, you're going to do me a favor one of these days. And you're going to do it, because if you don't, this knife goes in her." he gestured towards the glass behind which was Scott's mom. "Perfect. Now, you're going to do me a favor one of these days. And you're going to do it, because if you don't, this knife goes in her." Scott whispered in agreement before Gerard ripped his knife out of him and walked off hiding the weapon while the hospital doors opened and Melissa walked to Scott. The young werewolf quickly repositioned himself and put his coat in front of his torso. He smiled at his mom and opened the door for her. She smiled and nodded at him while joking about what a gentleman he was.
Damian sighed as he walked towards the McCall house. He knew that he would have to face a million questions and knowing Stiles ones that he couldn't answer. He rang the doorbell. Scott opened the door and immediately gestured for him to go inside. Damian waited as if he couldn't enter.
"Wait, do I actually have to invite you in?" Scott said. Damian smiled then laughed before walking in. He asked Scott where he should go and they both made their way to the bedroom of the youngest McCall. They walked on Stiles pacing and looked at each other smiling. Stiles turned to see the pair and his eyes glistened at the sight of his pale friend. Damian gestured for the both to sit down. The vampire took a deep breath and began,
"Okay, let's make things as simple as possible. I give you a simple overview of the whole bloodsucking and you ask questions later and then I give you the reason why I'm here, got it?" The two nodded. "I am a vampire, I have no real need to breathe but it's a habit. Blood is easy to find when you can heal those afflicted with wounds with your own saliva and you can hypnotise weak-willed individuals but there's no need of that when you have a family company that financially compensate blood donors. I have elevated physical capabilities and other things I can do but I'll save those for later. I need less sleep but I still need to sleep. Anything else?" Stiles jumped at the opportunity and asked,
"Are you hurt by the sunlight or garlic, can you turn others, how old are you, are werewolves like your mortal enemy, do you have a secret group or society and do you need a wooden stake to kill vampires?" Damian smiles and answers,
"Sunlight and garlic are just myths although I am stronger at nightfall. To turn someone is a arduous process and it requires compatibility with the sire involved. I am 16 and please don't ask me how long I have been 16. Werewolves and other supernatural creatures have always had conflict there's nothing too special about the one between vampires and lycanthropes. We have covens but those are usually in Europe or in the big cities. A wooden stake can paralyse a vampire until it's taken out." He waited for anymore questions and then continued, "The Americas have been off limits to us for a while, especially Beacon Hills but recently that has changed. I have been investigating my family's disappearance and so far it's led to here. I have monitored the situation here for a few months and felt the need to place myself on the board so I can try my best to find them." Damian looked at them and smiled at them, "I'm not asking for you to immediately trust me but I'd like to prove myself." Scott opened his mouth for the first time in a while before immediately shutting it. Stiles looked at him and said,
"Does anyone else know about this, did you tell anyone?" Damian grimaced but steeled his nerves and replied,
"Isaac knows and so does Lydia. Before you go shouting, if I didn't tell Lydia then well we'd might have had a another Hale running about again." The two childhood best friends shared a look before glaring at him and asking him to go on. "When Peter bit Lydia that night, he wasn't trying to turn her. He was leaving himself a backup plan incase the worst came about which it did. An incredible plan if I say so myself. Because of Lydia's nature he was able to keep a trace of him in her blood causing hallucinations that on his death would bring about his resurrection. Unfortunately despite me knowing of this, the only way of getting rid of him is either going through with his resurrection or killing Lydia which would not be in our shared interest of keeping her alive." Stiles and Scott had looks of disbelief on their faces before Stiles looked at him again,
"What do you mean her nature and why the hell does Isaac know?" he shouted in frustration. Damian sighed once more. This was going to be a long day.
Isaac hated waiting but it was necessary. I mean having to explain to the leather jacket wearing jerk that Lydia wasn't the scaly freak was one thing but having to deal with Jackson was almost like hell. Damian was meant to be here an hour ago but he's not so more waiting. He kept hearing Jackson's screaming about his father being a lawyer and how he'd sue the pants of him. He was supposed to keep him calm but fuck Jackson. A black car with tinted windows parked up beside Isaac and he narrowed his eyes only to relax seeing the familiar face leave the driver's seat. He pointed him to the back of the storage container and led the man there.
"Relax Jackson, you're not going to remember any of this but you might as well have a little snack while we're here. After all a snake like you won't be poisoned by your own venom, right?" Jackson gulped after seeing the weird transparent sticky liquid come near his mouth and almost felt compelled to taste it. All he saw was a crimson orb surrounded by a void before his body weighed him down and he felt like he couldn't move.
"So, that was useless. He's obviously just a regular human." Isaac looked at Damian and his smile hadn't wavered. "Why are you still smiling, what am I missing?"
"I've never heard of being immune to an Alpha's bite unless you are already supernatural nor have I seen it in any of my old family's records. I don't think Jackson is the exception."
"So what is he."
"Jackson might just be Jackson"
"What the fuck does that mean?"
"Isaac, when is the Kanima not the Kanima" Isaac looked confused for a while before coming to a realisation and smirked at the paralysed victim. Damian forced Jackson to look into his eyes and muttered some words that Isaac couldn't hear.
"When are you going to teach me how to do that?"
"All in good time, all in good time."
Lydia had a job to do. A purpose of some sorts even it was only to get rid of the weirdo stuck in her bloodstream. She had the wolfsbane ready and Stiles would hopefully bring Derek and Damian while Scott and Allison researched more about this Kanima. All it needed now was blood for some reason but Damian had that covered. All she had to do was wait for them to make it by the old burnt Hale house. A jeep and two cars pulled up and three figures hopped out. Damian and Derek glared at each other before the latter went to dig the body of his uncle up. Stiles immediately went up to Lydia and looked her in the eyes and asked,
"Are you okay with this because I'm sure we can find another way." Lydia shook her head and said,
"I'm sure. I might not like this whole werewolf, vampire, banshee nonsense but I want this over and done with."
"About the whole banshee do you really like scream when someone is about to die," wondered Stiles. Damian hearing this intervened,
"Well from what I know banshees scream for multiple reasons. It's a gift and a curse. They are capable of hearing things from the past, the present and the future but also can sense death and are connected to death in a way that even the undead aren't. The scream can be a way to drown out other sounds so they can hone in on a specific one or if there is a supernatural death of some kind. Despite popular belief they aren't bad omens to see but can actually be saviours in a way no one else can." Lydia upon hearing the last sentence smiled at Stiles before making her way inside. Stiles smiled back and watched her walk. Damian grabbed Stiles by the shoulder and looked at him before probing, "Stiles, my offer still stands. I really think it can help you," Stiles' smile faltered and he nodded before following Lydia. Damian watched the sun in the sky and realised it was almost sunset. He breathed in the forest air and went to enter the house as well.
