Edmund's POV
I never thought I would be able to quench even a quarter of my yearning for her. I never thought this day would come. Yet here we were, heightening our sense of touch right in the middle of our dining area.
The winter sunlight spread across the room as though it celebrated the day with us. The chair creaked at our every movement as we savoured each other's attention. We were so engrossed with each other that when her body flinched as it collided with the table, we moved to the bedroom.
I wrapped her legs around my waist and carried her in my arms. I breathed in her scents which was a great reminder that she is still with me.
"Am I truly a tenant of your heart?" I whispered, nibbling on her earlobe. Partially afraid that I was delusional.
She giggled and brushed my lips away from her ears. But she wound her arms around my neck and uttered with such a delicate voice, "The only one".
