Kaya tilted her head back, looking up into his glowing, expectant golden eyes.
"Absolutely not," Kaya said, completely shattering his hopes. "You are going to finish the degree. You need the piece of paper to sit on the Vanguard board. Besides, the university's Dean is absolutely terrified of you, and it is doing wonders for our corporate reputation. The rumors say I hired a cartel hitman as my Chief of Security."
Veer let out a dramatic, exaggerated groan, completely draping his heavy upper body over the back of her chair, burying his face in her dark hair.
"You are a tyrant, wife," Veer complained playfully. "You force me to sit in tiny wooden chairs. You force me to listen to men who smell like chalk and fear. What do I get in return for this agonizing torment?"
Kaya laughed softly, reaching up to run her fingers through his dark, messy hair. "You get a multi-billion dollar corporate empire, a private jet, and a penthouse in the sky. Is that not enough?"
