Claude's and Len's eyes darted to Messner's back at his remark.
The weaker Alpha even felt those gazes bore a hole into his body. He then stiffly faced them. He asked, "Are you? Weren't you, like… the Ghost's child?"
"It's me." Claude cleared his throat. He didn't want Len to smile and scare the poor skin-and-bones wolf with them. "I came here to ask about what happened in Marble City decades ago. We spoke to some Lords of Winter and learned what my mother and father had done here. Do you remember that night?"
"You?" Messner almost escaped from their range. However, he couldn't cower in fear in his own home.
He just hissed and walked inside the smelly room. "Yeah, I remember that night pretty well. My Alpha died in that lady's hands. Everyone who came to stop her said she was a dud for not wolfing out. But she's the most dangerous I've ever seen."
Len and Claude exchanged glances and walked inside the room. The door didn't even close behind them as the locks were outside.
