The open café in the mall was filled with the rich aroma of coffee. Avery Jane sat in the farthest corner; she had arranged to meet Beckett Wright here. The bodyguards were still in the parking lot. She had Emma White follow her to the mall, then came here alone, silently praying in her heart, hoping everything wasn't true, that all the things people tried to tell her weren't true.
