Chapter 228 - Chapter 228: Loki and Finn

[3rd POV]

The wait for Riveria to return with her Goddess had been a bit longer than she had been expecting. Around an hour or so at that. Wanda during that time, had taken a few more customers, none of which had been from the world of Danmachi.

Wanda hadn't been expecting any new customers from that world either way, most of the customers had actually been from the Enterprise, since she had moved the door from the bridge, to one of the more accessible areas. So now tons of customers were entering, trading supplies for books that they could read.

She also had a few new demigods come in, asking for their own wands after undoubtedly seeing Grovers, Percy's, and Annabeths. Each of the three most likely had gotten a lot stronger thanks to the wands, but she wasn't entirely sure as she hadn't seen them since they had picked out the wands.

Probably because they were more focused on training their power than anything else, wishing to obtain mastery over the magic they had been granted, and learning the wand movements behind that magic.

Well, at least the starter magic.

She suspected that the trio had told the others about the magic and the fact that she was willing to make wands for them. She didn't mind, of course. As making wands was easy, and actually kind of interesting. Seeing all the unique variety's that the various children of the gods got.

She decided to also offer the wands for sale in other magical world, primarily TVD and Danmachi. As she was pretty confidant that the wands would be massively useful in the former, and would be great for noobie adventurers in the latter.

Even a higher level adventurer should find great use in a wand, given that they grow with the user. it's just that by bonding to a wand while already being strong, the growing stronger aspect takes far longer.

Whereas if it bonded to a newbie who was level 1, it would have a lot more opportunity to grow stronger with the newbie. Therefore meaning the wand would be stronger by the time its user is at the same level as another wand user that got their wand at a higher level.

That was something that Wanda would need to make sure to explain to the customers of Danmachi, as they would likely throw a hissy fit if she didn't make it very clear that her wands are not really meant for experienced and already strong adventurers.

They were meant for noobs.

The Gods might also be interested in the wands, as realistically they should be able to use them. And since the wands are dependent on magic and not divinity, they might even be able to use it in the mortal world without breaking the rules.

This would therefore make them far safer, stronger, and more useful in certain situations.

But it would also be a bit unfair towards normal Gods. As any God or Goddess of magic would be vastly superior to any other God in the area, giving that they held dominion over the concept. Even if they couldn't actually use the divine power over the concept, they should be able to learn far faster than normal.

Wanda could of course put some sort of blocker on that, so that they would learn at the same pace as everyone else. But she would need to decide that in the future, as it could cause some problems if she went all Willy nilly changing concepts and blocking Gods from using their inherent talent in the area that they are the literal God of.

Either way, she had been waiting for a little while. She had contemplated what other things she could offer besides the food, the wands, and a few other things. She was kind of tempted to offer something like potions or pills to heal or strengthen, but she didn't want to diverge from being a bookstore too much.

She could get away with what's he already has, but too much and it wouldn't look like a bookstore, not truly. It would look like a bookstore and other stuff.

She didn't want that.

After waiting for a while, Wanda was pleased to hear the door ding, as in walked Riveria. Soon after, her eyebrow raised when she saw who came in with her.

It was her Goddess, Loki.

As well as the captain of the familia, Finn. She was half expecting Ais to be there, but Wanda suspected that Riveria wanted to make sure the place was legitimate and safe before allowing the others to arrive.

When Loki walked in, Wanda noticed the Goddess still. Her eyes widening in what looked to be fear? Apprehension?

Wanda couldn't tell.

But what she could tell was that Loki, unlike Finn or Riveria, could tell just from a look that she was something more. She had met Ouranos, so that was probably why she was seemingly terrified, even if she hid it expertly.

"You don't need to be afraid, child" Wanda said with a small smile on her face, mirth swimming in her eyes.

Literally sometimes.

"I-That's kinda hard, you know. You're like a damn walking talking supernova, but like...times a billion" Loki said in response, grunting slightly as she shook her head, trying to get rid of the fear that was instinctively filling her up.

"Ah, apologies" Wanda said before reigning her power in more than normal "I tend to let .0001 of my power trickle out, and forget that it's too much for most"

Loki just stared at her upon hearing this, wondering if she should scream or cry upon hearing that. And the worst part about it? She was pretty confident that the woman before her was not lying about that, nor was she lying about her being a primordial.

She could tell just from a look.

The knowledge, the magic, the power. It was quite literally making up her entire form. She was knowledge. She was magic. She was various concepts all rolled into one.

She was far stronger than her.

Stronger than Ouranos.

Hell, Loki even thought that she might be stronger than Lady Khaos. And Khaos was literally the creator of their universe.

That was how insanely powerful the primordial before her was.

And honestly? If Loki didn't have an instinctive terror towards the entity, she would be laughing at her own fortune. To meet an entity like this that was selling books?

It meant that whatever books she was selling was well beyond anything you could find anywhere else.

"Just uh...try not to let that much power out again, will ya? It's hard to breathe when you feel the power of a primordial weighing on your divine spark" Loki replied awkwardly, which got a look of wide eyed shock (and a mixture of fear) from Finn, and a sigh from Riveria.

"I'll make sure to keep it under control, Loki. Now, what can I do for you three today? Books? Wands? Pastries? I can even whip up the best wine in the multiverse if you would like" Wanda said.

Loki was about to immediately jump on the chance for the last one, but was cut off as Finn and Riveria both leaped over to keep her quite, while Riveria spoke.

"Books! We're here for books!" Riveria said, as she let out a grossed out noise once she pulled her hand back from Loki's mouth, realizing her Goddess had licked her hand.

"Oh c'mon Riveria-Chan! I want me some multiverse booze! The best booze in the multiverse made of...what's it made of?" Loki asked looking over to Wanda.

"Stars"

"The best booze in the multiverse made of literal stars! How can I pass that up?" Loki asked, as Riveria sighed and rubbed her nose.

"And how much is this wine? Surely it's incredibly expensive given it's made of stars"

"About the same price as a decently expensive book. It's cheap because it's divine in nature, so only Gods, Titans, Primordials and the like can safely consume it without...well, imploding" Wanda explained to Riveria.

"...What exactly will that do to Lady Loki if she ever manages to consume it?" Finn asked.

"She'll likely obtain quite a bit of new divine power, and may unlock a new domain in which her being will latch onto. At the very least she'll be quite a bit stronger" Wanda replied, which got a wide eyed look from Loki.

What she just casually explained was literally impossible for a God/Goddess to do. Just casually unlocking new domains and upgrading your divine power was...well, not possible for any normal person.

But, it would seem that Loki needed to stop underestimating Wanda, as she was obviously the furthest thing from normal.

"You know Gods would literally go to war for that, right?" Loki asked, wanting to make sure the woman knew just what that wine meant.

"Hmm? Oh of course! But...all they can do is try. I'd just wipe them from existence if they try anything too ballsy with my store" Wanda replied, waving off her concerns.

Before she soon locked eyes with Riveria, and spoke.

"So...what sort of books are you looking for?"
