Chapter 226 - Chapter 226: The Elf

[3rd POV]

Connecting the store to the new universe had not been all that interesting, as it did nothing but make the front entrance to the store glow ever so slightly. Each new universe made the door glow differently. Like DC's being a brilliant white and blue color. Or Marvels being a Red and White.

The new one was a white and gold color, which was definitely an interesting site. She assumed it was representative of the Humans aka Mortals, and the Gods aka the Divine. White for Mortals and their normal souls. And Gold for the Gods and their divine souls.

That was her assumption at least. She didn't actually know.

Wanda had closed up shop moments after that, deciding to just wait until the next morning to meet her new customers. She didn't really want to stay up waiting late into the night for someone new to come in, and that would probably just be a waste of time in the end.

Mostly because Wanda knew that a lot of the people that lived in Orario did not really go out at night, unless they were going to the Red Light District, which was also sort of full of slaves. With Ishtar forcing many of the prostitutes there into their situation.

Wanda did not particularly like Ishtar thanks to that, and she made sure that her door did not appear anywhere near that area, and instead made sure it appeared anywhere but there. Or inside of certain buildings at least.

Wanda was much more hoping that she was visited by someone from the Loki familia, Hephaestus familia, or even Hestia herself, as first customers. They were by far the most interesting Gods to appear in her opinion, and were the ones that most of the canon revolved around.

There was another God that was heavily involved of course, which was Freya. But like with Ishtar, Wanda was not very interested in interacting with Freya, even if she found her not as bad as Ishtar in a lot of ways.

But she was also worse in other ways, and was a full blown Yandere for the main character of Danmachi, Bell Cranel. A ton of the boys conflicts and major events in his life were orchestrated by Freya, all to test him, to make him stronger, to make him better.

Because she was in love with him. For in her eyes, he was her "Odr" the one that would be her companion, her husband.

Her beloved.

Wanda wasn't interested in meeting with her just yet. Not when she had the ability to see souls. She didn't want to accidentally obliterate the Goddess from existence because she was stupid enough to try and gaze into her soul.

Annyways...

The next morning had come pretty quickly, after they had a pretty delicious dinner, and an equally tasty breakfast that morning.

And now she was sitting behind her counter, the kids were off doing their own thing like usual, while Wanda was waiting for her first customers for the day to come into the shop. She hoped it was someone from Danmachi.

She didn't really want to wait too much longer for a new customer to come in, and she really wanted to see if it was someone new and interesting. She hadn't had an interesting new customer in a while, besides Destruction at least.

And thankfully, as she heard the door ding, her hopes were granted.

Because as the door swung open slowly, Wanda watched as a green haired woman walked in, her eyebrows furrowed as she looked around. With her also having long ears, and a confused expression on her face.

This was the one and only...

Riveria Ljos Alf

The woman was an old elf, and was quite strong. She was a member of the Loki familia, and if Wanda knew it iright and if it was similar to canon, she would be level 5 at the moment. She was widely considered the strongest mage in Orario, at least at this time.

She was far from the strongest in the world.

"Ah, I was hoping I'd get a new customer in today!" Wanda said, as Riveria jumped as she noticed her.

"Who are you? Where did this door come from?"

"I am Wanda Maximoff, owner of this bookstore. As for the door...well, I made it of course!" Wanda replied with a smile on her face, amused as Riveria just looked more confused.

"...Are you a Goddess?" Riveria asked bluntly, realizing that the woman before her was far from normal.

"Hmmm, I suppose I am in a sort of way. But I believe the more accurate term for my existence is a "Primordial" although even that sort of understates my existence" Wanda replied with a hum, as Riveria's eyes widened in shock.

Primordials were the strongest of the strong. The peak of the Danmachi universe. They made Gods look like worms beneath their boots. And a single Primordial could obliterate thousands of Gods with laughable ease.

The only known Primordial that was in the mortal realm, was Ouranos.

And now there was another unknown one standing before her, one that she had never heard of in her many years of life. Standing in front of her with nothing more than a grin and amusement swimming about in her eyes.

"No need to be afraid, dear. I may be a deity that can do pretty much anything, but I am a kind deity that can do pretty much anything. And I do believe that I am unlike many other deities that you have met. Afterall, I am simply running my bookstore." Wanda said to the woman who stared at her, distrust clear on her face.

"And...what does this bookstore sell?"

"Why books of course! And in terms of books...well, anything you can think of really. But I am particularly fond of my magic books, teaching hundreds of different types of spells, and entirely new magic systems unbound by the rules that you know and follow" Wanda explained to the woman, who stilled upon hearing this.

She was a huge magic nerd, and went ballistic when anything involved learning new spells and deepening her power in the area. So to hear that Wanda was casually selling hundreds of books on magic?

It was like she just hit the motherload.

She had never seen a store that had that many books on magic, as those types of books were immensely expensive. Not on the level of a grimoire, which automatically taught the user the spell in question, but it was a close second.

And this woman had hundreds of them.

That was not even thinking about her claim about entirely new magic systems unlike anything she knew. Meaning that if she truly did have books like that, then it was a very good likelihood that her growth would sky rocket to an entirely new realm.

She would surpass all the other old mages, and become the one true mage.

At least if she could get her hands on all the books and ensure a considerable form of repayment in return. What that payment would be...she had no idea to be honest.

"These books...are they expensive? What do you want in return? Is there any side effects?" Riveria asked rapidly, as Wanda smiled, and motioned to the side as she began to move to sit in a chair at a coffee table.

"Why don't we chat about it? I'd love to learn more about your universe" Wanda said, as Riveria soon plopped down across from her, all the while, Wanda had only one thought on her mind.

'This will definitely be interesting'
