"Sophie Smith." Asher Land's voice was somewhat weary, hoarse.
"Hmm?" Sophie Smith looked up seriously at him, "What's wrong?"
"Nothing..." Asher Land didn't know how to tell her, bringing Irene Morton back to the Land Family now was actually something he didn't want to do, but if he left Irene to fend for herself outside, he somehow felt it wasn't right.
"Rest assured, there won't be anything between Irene and me. As long as I help her kick the addiction and get back what she deserves from the Morton Clan Group, I'll send her back to Europe." Asher Land spoke to her word by word.
What did he just say? Addiction recovery?
"What's happened to her? When did she get involved with drugs?" Sophie Smith was extremely incredulous.
"Just tonight." Asher Land paused for a long moment before speaking, "I don't know how much she took, whether she's already addicted, but... I want to make sure she's absolutely safe."
Sophie Smith lowered her eyes, a hint of pain in them.
