Everyone who had fallen on top of Alex groaned in pain.
"Damn… my hips…" Kaelith muttered, rubbing her waist.
"My back…" Camilla hissed, pushing herself up slightly.
Before anyone could fully recover, Alex suddenly stood up.
His aura exploded outward for a moment—a brief surge of pressure blasting everyone away from him and knocking them flat onto the ground—this time separately instead of stacked on top of each other.
Alex took several deep breaths, sucking in air like a man just pulled out of deep water.
"Fuck… I almost died without air," he muttered.
He turned toward the group, ready to curse them all out.
But then—
His words died in his throat.
Silence.
His eyes widened.
Because aside from Kaelith, Camilla, James, Remus, and a few others—
Almost everyone else looked broken.
Literally.
Clara was missing an arm and a leg, the remains of her limbs wrapped in blood-soaked cloth and torn flesh.
