--- Chapter 474 ---
Han Yuan chewed his food slowly, his expression unreadable as his mind actively tried to figure out his next moves. At the moment, he lacked the information to know the exact timeline of this alternate Legend of the Dragon King world.
His knowledge of the plot was pretty shallow, as he only memorized the major milestones and critical powerhouses. Regardless, even that plot knowledge had to be taken with a grain of salt, given that this world's nature was an alternative universe.
'The Golden Dragon King, huh? I wonder how she leads the remnants of the Spirit Beast Race in this era compared to the oh-so-wise Silver Dragon King of the original script.'
Han Yuan thought to himself as a dry, cheeky amusement flashed in his mind. 'Given the overbearing, unyielding, and violently aggressive nature of the Golden Dragon King, a female counterpart with that lineage might actually do a far better job of reaching her species' glory than Gu Yuena ever did.'
After making that bold assessment, his silver eyes drifted back across the table, observing the military uncle who had "saved" him from the den of Evil Spirit Masters.
The man appeared to be in his early forties, perhaps even his thirties, yet his energy signature had already reached the formidable realm of a Title Douluo.
If a talent like Guo Zhenfeng were to really exist 20,000 years in the past, during the era of Spirit Hall, he would have easily given Tang Hao a run for his money for the title of the youngest Title Douluo in history.
Then again, this highlighted the rapid evolution of the human race. It was the unavoidable progress of the Spirit Master cultivation when pushed to its limits by a multi-millennial war.
Using his perception even further, Han Yuan's silver gaze pierced directly through the man's flesh, mapping the internal meridians until he located a dense, compressed energy. Deep within Guo Zhenfeng's middle dantian, a beautifully made Soul Core revolved smoothly, spinning like a miniature, pressurized diamond.
'The Soul Core method of this era... is really fascinating,' Han Yuan noted with his judgement. 'It actually acts as a stabilizer, intentionally buffering the conflicting elemental natures introduced to the host's Martial Soul by external Spirit Souls. It forces coexistence instead of harmony.'
'It is entirely different from my own method, which relies on absolute, fundamental integration and harmony.'
'It seems the core of the Soul Contract somehow got altered somewhere down the line. Either by generational greed, or perhaps by Huo Yuhao himself under the guidance of his master, I mean, father-in-law.'
'After all, Electrolux, Huo Yuhao's teacher, never made the soul contract to be this very restrictive and superficial in the beginning. Back in the Holy Demon Continent, Summoning Contracts require mutual understanding between both sides.'
Concluding his silent examination of the Title Douluo, Han Yuan turned his observant gaze toward himself, scanning his own newly inherited vessel from various angles.
He couldn't help but nod in genuine satisfaction. The physical aesthetics, innate aptitude, and karmic luck of this body were remarkably compatible with his soul's needs.
Of course, inheriting such an excellent vessel didn't come free.
Lingering in the deepest parts of the boy's residual memory and soul was the silent plea and echo of the original "Han Yuan", a child who had been kidnapped, brutally subjected to dangerous, painful bloodline infusions, and eventually died in agony under the harmful hands of the Evil Soul Masters.
Suddenly, a glowing, blue screen materialized directly within Han Yuan's field of vision.
[The Child's Pleas and Hopes]
[Introduction: You now possess the innately powerful body of a boy born for greatness, helping his world reach true, final freedom. Unfortunately, his light was extinguished far too soon for him to achieve a single one of those dreams. By living in his stead, you are entrusted with fulfilling his pleas and dreams so his soul may finally find peace in the afterlife.
Objective:
Objective No.1: Return to the Han Yuan's estate and pay proper tribute to his deceased parents.
Objective No.2: Break history and fulfil his first dream to reach the Title Douluo Realm under twenty.
Objective No.3: Master the pinnacles of human technology. Become the Greatest Mecha Pilot and a 4-Word Battle Armor Master.
Objective No.4: Purge the dark stains of this continent. Slay all Evil Soul Masters of the Holy Spirit Cult and corrupted beings.
Objective No.5: Resurrect the fallen lineage. Make the Han Clan Great Again!]
[Do you wish to accept the quest?]
[Yes/No]
Although Han Yuan knew the quest wasn't mandatory, and that he could easily ignore the residual wishes of the dead child without consequence, he wasn't the type of person who took things for free.
He had taken over a highly compatible body capable enough of harboring his World-Devouring Kunpeng's lineage. In exchange, fulfilling the kid's hope and grievances was only fair business.
So, with a simple mental flick, his consciousness immediately locked onto the affirmative option.
'Yes.'
He reached across the stainless steel table, calmly pulling a fresh plate of meat toward himself. 'Since I have taken your name, kid... I will make sure the entire Douluo Planet never forgets it.'
'This world shall remember Han Yuan till the end of time!'
With that final bite, Han Yuan finally felt the gnawing void in his stomach subside. His frail, young body had gained healthy density and no longer looked malnourished or hollow.
Every ounce of food he swallowed was instantly stripped down into pure nutrients under the Devouring Nature of the World-Devouring Kunpeng, strengthening his bones, flesh, and blood.
It was a shame that Han Yuan couldn't simply awaken his spirits using the Universal Spirit Awakening Method that Alpha and Beta had obtained beforehand.
Guo Zhenfeng was still sitting right across from him, after all. If this guy saw him awaken martial souls out of nowhere, he might question reality and get him on a medical bed in some research labs.
Not to mention, a spirit awakening of his caliber would definitely trigger an energy spike and some heavenly phenomenon that would draw unwanted eyes.
Of course, that was just Han Yuan's imagination. He was just being too cautious.
It wasn't that Han Yuan was scared of Tang Hao, Shrek Academy, or the Tang Sect discovering his existence because it was simply impossible for them to track him.
The World-Devouring Kunpeng wasn't just any primordial beast. When he had explained to Alpha and Beta that this beast could pretty much bypass any spatial and planar restriction, he meant it literally.
Even a Fate Guidance ability couldn't completely trace Han Yuan's thread, making him a perfect, untrackable being. He would remain a ghost to the world system as long as he didn't openly flaunt his anomalies.
"Hey, uncle," Han Yuan suddenly called out, breaking the silence. "Can you help me awaken my spirit?"
Guo Zhenfeng was momentarily stunned. He looked up from his glowing Spirit Guidance Watch, his gaze shifting directly to the anomaly of the silver-haired boy.
"Hmm? You want me to awaken your martial soul right here?"
"Mhm!" Han Yuan nodded, raising his small chin as he projected an aura full of childish confidence and soaring aspiration.
"I feel like I can become a truly great Spirit Master... and then I can slay all the evils from this world!"
Guo Zhenfeng fell completely silent for a moment. He gazed deeply into the silver-haired boy's clear, striking silver eyes, letting out a soft, sympathetic sigh.
In his mind, he assumed the child had been deeply traumatized by the horrors of the Evil Soul Master den and was channeling his fear into a desperate desire for strength and righteous vengeance.
What Guo Zhenfeng completely failed to realize, however, was that when Han Yuan stated of slaying all evils on the Douluo Planet... he wasn't just talking about the Holy Spirit Cult.
Oh, no, no, no. He didn't care who wore the crown of righteousness. If they stood in the way of his path, they were evil, a stain to be cleared.
That's his way!
