Jiraiya rummaged through his bag, took out a scroll, and tossed it to Naruto, saying, "Be careful with it. You know how to unseal it, right?"
"Uh, no." Naruto answered honestly. He wasn't afraid of Amaterasu; his Scarlet Fox Armor could block it. But he genuinely didn't know how to unseal the Fire Seal Method.
Jiraiya: "..."
I swear I want to punch you. You've been studying for so long, and you still don't know how to unseal this?
He sighed and said, "Beginner's Volume Seven, page 777. Look it up yourself."
"Oh." Naruto poured out a pile of books from his own sealing scroll, flipped through them for a moment, and finally pulled out a terrifyingly thick book.
This was one of the reasons Naruto couldn't learn. There were ten beginner volumes in total, each starting at a minimum of one thousand five hundred pages, thicker than bricks.
These few books, whether they could purify the mind when opened was unknown, but when closed, they were certainly heavy enough to crack a human skull.
Naruto had always suspected that the Uzumaki clan had some misunderstanding about the word "beginner." How could beginner's textbooks be so thick?
Seeing Naruto struggling to learn, Jiraiya grew annoyed. This annoyance broke his inspiration. He slammed down his pen and said sternly, "Send me to the Land of Fire Capital. I need to gather material."
Naruto shot him a sidelong glance. How can you, an old pervert, say something like 'peeping' so straight-facedly?
After sending Jiraiya off, Naruto also departed with all his belongings.
He sent the clones who helped him flip the earth to the Land of Snow. After sending the other three clones to Mount Myōboku, Naruto found an empty spot, first pulled out trees, then leveled the ground with the Mo Xie Precious Brick.
Next, he sent clones to buy aluminum powder and iron oxide for thermite, which weren't difficult to acquire; typically, anyone with a mine at home would have them.
Finally, he went to Konoha to pick up Shikamaru.
The "Sunglasses Plan" required a lot of calculations. Lighting, placement angles—all needed to be factored in. While Naruto's calculation abilities were decent, they weren't at a supercomputer level, so he could only invite Shikamaru.
After briefly explaining the "Sunglasses Plan," Shikamaru squinted at the sun. Naruto's plan gave him a refreshing feeling, but: "It's too troublesome."
I have to calculate light collection rate, air's refraction rate on sunlight, and uncertain factors like wind, sand, rain, and corrosion. Am I supposed to tell him to build another pure glass isolation room? But looking at him, he'll expect me to calculate for the isolation room too, and that means even more things to consider. Ugh...
Shikamaru sighed, looking up at the sky, and said, "Your current location won't work."
"Then let's change it." Naruto put his hand on Shikamaru's shoulder and activated his teleportation.
A few minutes later, Shikamaru clutched his arm, bending over and retching. "Stop, stop, stop."
Within a few minutes, Naruto had taken him to several different countries. Unlike Naruto, who was used to teleporting dozens of times a day, Shikamaru, who was just experiencing it today, wasn't familiar with it and was about to throw up from the teleportation.
"None of them work? How about outer space then?"
"You can go to outer space?" Shikamaru looked at him in surprise.
"Probably." Naruto replied. He could use his Scarlet Fox Chakra for defense, then have clones continuously jump upwards with Cloud Stepping Heaven Ascent to open up lines of sight for teleportation. Theoretically, he should be able to jump into outer space. He just didn't know how many clones would die, and it would take some time.
"You've gotten stronger," Shikamaru mused. His gaze swept over their surroundings and he said, "This area is pretty good."
"Then you start calculating, and I'll level the ground."
After about an hour, Shikamaru handed over a stack of blueprints and said, "It's roughly like this. If you encounter any problems, you can refer to... never mind."
Shikamaru thought about it and decided against it. He knew Naruto would probably come looking for him again anyway.
"Thanks."
"You're welcome. Just don't call me next time." Shikamaru yawned and said, "It's getting late. I'm heading back."
Shikamaru left, and the clones who had bought the materials also returned. Naruto divided the land into two construction sites and released the Uzumaki construction team, who had just been laid off from the Hozuki Castle theater and found new employment opportunities.
As for why there were so many employment opportunities, it might be related to their having all received nine years of compulsory education.
The construction team was divided into two squads: Squad Two, with three hundred people, built the "sunglasses"; Squad One, with two hundred people, prepared the thermite. There was also an elite squad responsible for grinding the mithril powder.
Site Two's "Sunglasses Plan" was quite novel and interesting. The clones worked diligently according to the blueprints, bustling with enthusiasm, and there were no casualties.
As for Site One, "enthusiasm" couldn't even begin to describe the situation. It was pure fanaticism; the scene could only be described with four words: an "artistic hall."
"Boom!" "Boom!" "Boom!"...
Two hundred clones, clad in small Akatsuki uniforms, seemed to be blessed by some mysterious aura. They used experimental equipment to perform crude, Naruto-style proportioning. They measured, put materials into the equipment, heated it, and then were blown up beyond Kushina's recognition.
The consequences of haphazardly mixing thermite without understanding the proportions were terrifying. Minor injuries would be burns, severe ones would be amputations. But the clones, they didn't dodge at all. In their words, this was a sacrifice for a noble art.
But they weren't the ones enjoying the explosions the most. The most joyous were the elite squad grinding mithril powder. Everyone else is having fun, and we're stuck with this annoying work. Might as well die and switch teams.
And in this environment, with chemical explosions and human bombs, like the Middle East in wartime, Naruto remained calmly seated on the sofa, studying.
He occasionally popped a Hozuki fruit, also known as a ground cherry, into his mouth to relieve his irritation. If that didn't work, he'd toss out two Rasenshurikens.
Two days later in the afternoon, Naruto finally unsealed the Fire Seal Method, though it was a one-time use version. This seal was completely destroyed; if he wanted to seal Amaterasu back, he'd have to ask Jiraiya to draw another one.
Under countless deaths, he also managed to create thermite, but it was useless against mithril.
Mithril, a metal that only existed in fantasy, was incredibly difficult to melt with any method other than its corresponding furnace. Even the "sunglasses" couldn't melt it due to insufficient temperature because of their area.
Fortunately, Amaterasu, the legendary flame, could melt it, albeit slowly. So Naruto used the powder method combined with Amaterasu to speed things up.
Grabbing a large handful of powder and throwing it into the pitch-black flames, Naruto stood on the scaffolding, his red chakra claws extending into the flames to stir, thoroughly heating it.
Finally, he scooped out luminous blue liquid mithril, skimmed off the black flames and his chakra claws, threw them back into the fire, and poured the liquid into the prepared container.
Amaterasu was truly powerful; it could even cling to and burn Nine-Tails Chakra. But Naruto didn't care; he had so much Nine-Tails Chakra he didn't know what to do with it, so there was no harm in using it.
Looking at that small pool of liquid, Naruto felt immensely satisfied. This strong and difficult-to-melt metal had finally been melted by him.
Suddenly, a thought flashed through his mind. He looked down at the backs of his hands. If he injected this pool of liquid into his bones, with his regenerative abilities, would he die?
He shook his head, abandoning this suicidal method. Naruto quickly sealed the liquid mithril and sent a clone to deliver it to Tenten.
Afterward, he pulled Jiraiya aside again to seal the remaining Amaterasu.
Jiraiya, while drawing the Fire Seal Method, glared at Naruto and said, "Ignorant and unskilled."
You managed to break a seal so thoroughly that it can't even be repaired. Why didn't you just tear it up completely?
"Hehe." Naruto shamelessly pulled out the scroll with Ryūmyaku Reincarnation written on it and handed it to him. "Old man, do me a favor."
"What's this?" Jiraiya opened the scroll, read it for a while, then his expression began to change: shock, daze, bewildered realization, contemplation, and more. Finally, he couldn't help but exclaim, "This is a genius! No, this is a madman!"
It was the first time he had known that there was a ninjutsu in the ninja world that sacrificed oneself to revive others.
"So, what do you want to do?" Jiraiya continued to examine the scroll; there were many things in it that interested him.
"I want to know how to stop the process of it transmitting life force."
He didn't know if the Ryūmyaku Reincarnation ninjutsu simply lacked a termination function or if the inventor's technique wasn't advanced enough, but once it began transmitting, it couldn't be stopped unless all life force was exhausted.
This wasn't what Naruto wanted. If it couldn't be stopped, wouldn't that mean he died and the Rasengan lived?
So Naruto wanted to modify it, but he knew his limitations. Whether inventing ninjutsu or modifying it, that was exclusive to academic geniuses, such as Orochimaru, Hinata, the Second Hokage, etc. As for academic failures trying to invent ninjutsu, there was only one outcome: dying faster than the last, for example... dying in nine seconds.
"Alright, let's go back first. You go pick up Fishcake again." Jiraiya put away the scroll, waved his large hand, and said.
He was really interested in this, and Fishcake could give him more inspiration.
Five days later, in the forest, Jiraiya sat cross-legged by a bonfire, stroking a cat while watching Naruto practice injecting life force into his Rasengan. If there was any mistake, he would interrupt.
Although Jiraiya was once a dead last, his many years as a ninja meant his knowledge base was no longer inferior to an academic genius. Five days was enough for him to improve this ninjutsu.
After all, it was just about interrupting, not reversing.
Naruto knelt, his hands placed in front of his abdomen, controlling his chakra to guide the flow of life force within his body.
But after a few seconds, the Rasengan was on the verge of collapsing. Naruto had to use a shout to increase his control: "Hah... ah."
"Boom."
The roar was useless; the Rasengan still exploded.
Invisible, pure life force scattered. The patiently waiting Little Lingtong rushed over to greedily absorb it, fearing to waste even a bit.
Replenishing his life force with a mental world full of cola, Naruto began his second experiment.
In the blink of an eye, ten days passed, and Naruto's new technique was nearing success.
After countless experiments, Naruto finally held up a milky-white Rasengan and exclaimed excitedly, "Perverted Old Man, how's this?"
Jiraiya instinctively took two steps back, sensing danger. He always felt that if he took this technique, which Naruto called a medical ninjutsu, he would... die.
Pointing at a wild boar used for experimentation nearby, he said, "You try it first."
"Okay." Naruto walked to the three-hundred-pound wild boar and, with one hand, directed the Rasengan towards its abdomen.
The Rasengan's powerful thrust pushed the wild boar backward for over ten meters before it finally exploded with a boom. Dense life force scattered, absorbed by the grass, and the wild grass grew like crazy, quickly burying the wild boar.
Looking at its height, it was at least ten feet tall.
And the wild boar, which had been breathing moments ago, was now motionless; even its breathing had stopped.
Jiraiya: "..."
So the difference between this technique and a normal Rasengan is that you can grow a circle of grave grass around the enemy's corpse?
"Huh, that doesn't make sense." Naruto held up the blue Rasengan, his face full of confusion, as he walked towards the next wild boar.
How could a skill full of life force kill someone? This isn't ninja-like at all.
