Michael looked at Edward in the ICU, who still showed no signs of improvement, and secretly hoped Edward wouldn't wake up again; it would be much more convenient if he died sooner.
The only troubling aspect now is that this incident has involved Mabel, and behind Mabel, there's Kyle.
Michael was genuinely scared that Kyle might uncover something. After all, it was Kyle who found out about the drugging incident before.
Christopher had just spoken with the doctor, his face full of worry.
"Dad, what did the doctor say?" Michael asked.
"The doctor suggests transferring hospitals," Christopher said, "Given the current medical level of the hospital, it's not sufficient to perform a second surgery on your uncle. But if he doesn't have the second surgery, he might never wake up and could eventually become vegetative."
Michael's heart leaped with joy; becoming vegetative? That would be the best outcome.
