Akira said as he received the tape of last night's surveillance from Karen's room.
I watched him take it, and for a brief moment, I couldn't help but wonder what exactly he did with those recordings. But I didn't ask. Didn't need to. Some questions were better left alone.
I gave a slight bow, then turned and walked out.
The elevator ride down was quiet, but the moment I stepped onto the work floor, the atmosphere shifted. Mocking glances. Side-eyes. The usual bullshit.
Karen was there too, inside one of the glass-walled offices, focused on her computer like nothing in the world bothered her.

Secretary Kim, on the other hand, didn't even try to hide it. One look at me, and she rolled her eyes like my existence personally offended her.
I ignored all of them and walked out.
Now that everyone was busy with work… it was time.
