Chapter 768 - Chapter 769: Abraham

For the current Ethan, attacks unleashed using the surrounding environment held little significance. Unless the opponent's control over energy far surpassed his own, even if he couldn't completely negate the moves the other party used, he could still interfere with them, preventing them from exerting their intended power.

The only effect such moves could have was to disrupt Ethan's actions.

This was precisely Douglas's goal.

As a Main God with a distinguished background and considerable strength, Douglas naturally knew what kind of moves were effective against a Main God. If it were an ordinary, weak, or newly born Main God, the previous attack might have had some effect.

But against an existence who knew how to attack the origin of a Main God, such an attack's only purpose was interference.

This didn't mean the move lacked power. Look at the surrounding environment. The originally lush primeval forest, after a series of tremors, had become a chaotic mess. Forests and grasslands had vanished, replaced by a post-apocalyptic landscape of uneven terrain, deep cracks, and continuously erupting lava.

Many creatures living in this area suffered unwarranted disaster. Under the continuous impact of terrifying earth power, not even a single corpse remained intact, and the few remaining limbs were swallowed by the flowing lava.

Seeing the surrounding devastation, Ethan was very glad he had made the choice he did.

If something like this had happened in his world, he would definitely have been heartbroken. However, the other side clearly didn't care what became of a mission world. After all, mission worlds were virtually infinite. As long as the core world serving as the main body remained undamaged, it had no effect on the Main Gods.

Just like Douglas and Teresa. They were completely unconcerned about the surroundings. All they cared about was how to deal with Ethan.

Teresa once again took out that emerald green longbow and the same type of arrows she had used before.

"It seems you can only rely on these things."

Compared to her husband Douglas, Teresa hadn't grasped any method that could truly harm a Main God. The only thing she could rely on was the weapon in her hands. Without it, she couldn't pose any threat to Ethan.

Trying hard to keep her distance, Teresa continuously used her bow and arrows to launch sneak attacks. However, Ethan's movement method was simply too strange. She had no way to lock onto his position.

"He can freely traverse space."

When the fight had just begun, Teresa and Douglas had jointly used spatial solidification and spatial chaos to interfere with the opponent's teleportation abilities as much as possible.

But as soon as the battle started, they discovered their efforts were meaningless. The opponent was completely unaffected and could teleport at will.

One moment he was in front of her, the next he had already appeared behind her and delivered a solid, heavy punch to her back.

"Pfft!"

As a Main God, Teresa hadn't experienced injury for who knew how long. In fact, one could say she had never truly been injured since her birth.

Being beaten to the point of spitting blood like this, her Main God core suffered heavy damage, and even the various rules she had accumulated over countless years were shaken by that punch.

This meant her divine power would irreversibly decline. If she was lucky, she could slowly repair and mend the damaged rules after the battle and recover her strength.

If she failed to repair them, her divine power would regress. If the damage was severe, she might even fall from the rank of Main God.

Thinking that countless years of accumulation had been wiped out by one punch, the rage in her chest flared up uncontrollably.

But her anger was useless. The only way she could hurt Ethan was with the arrows in her hand, yet she didn't even get a chance to fire. After finally managing to entangle Ethan for a few seconds alongside Douglas, she was able to shoot one arrow, only for Ethan to disappear again right after.

"Strange..."

After several exchanges, Teresa finally noticed the problem.

With the opponent's strange movement method, she and Douglas should have had no way to retaliate. Yet, the opponent was very restrained with his attacks, mostly dodging and parrying, only occasionally launching a surprise strike.

Although his attacks were terrifying, the low frequency made it difficult to pose a lasting threat.

"Could it be..."

Teresa immediately thought of something. She opened her mouth to remind her husband, but before she could speak, Ethan suddenly appeared above her, clasped his hands together, and slammed them down, smashing Teresa deep into the ground.

Compared to before, where each punch would leave Teresa in agony, this time she suffered almost no real injury, only looking a bit battered from being slammed into the earth.

Leaping out from the crater, Teresa looked at Ethan and suddenly burst into wild laughter. The ethereal aura from her beautiful appearance vanished completely. She now looked more like a madwoman.

"So you can't maintain that kind of attack all the time after all!"

In truth, the pressure Ethan had put on her was immense. Almost every second, she had worried she might die here. So when she realized Ethan couldn't perfectly control that power, her fear vanished, and her long-suppressed emotions exploded all at once, making her appear manic.

"So what?"

In Teresa's mind, once the truth was exposed, this guy should've become flustered. However, the other party simply looked at her with eyes that said, "You're an idiot," which instantly soured her briefly improved mood.

Ethan suddenly felt that this person's intelligence might not even be as high as that of some ordinary people. Was the pressure he gave off really that overwhelming?

"Can you tell which of my attacks can kill you and which can't?"

"Uh..."

"Like this one. Do you dare take it head-on?"

One moment he was floating above in the distance, the next he had already appeared behind her. Teresa was truly fed up with this elusive movement method. Throughout the battle, she and Douglas had continuously interfered with and disrupted the spatial conditions, but the effect had been minimal, only slightly reducing Ethan's teleportation frequency.

By this point, Douglas had concluded that Ethan had fully grasped the rules of space, and not just a single world's space, but the rules of the vast multiverse. That was why he could move freely even under suppression.

Such Main Gods were the most troublesome. No one wanted to become enemies with someone like that.

But now, he no longer needed to worry.

As Ethan punched Teresa again, sending her flying and causing further injury, an old man appeared in front of him, perfectly blocking his path.

Ethan prepared to use spatial movement to bypass him, but was surprised to find that the old man, with a simple spreading of his hands, created a spatial rift in mid-air. This meant Ethan could only teleport to the area in front of him. He could no longer teleport to Teresa, who was behind the old man.

"Abraham?"

"Yes."

This old man was Douglas's father, Abraham, and also Drake's grandfather. A powerful, veteran Main God, an existence that countless other Main Gods did not dare provoke.

"You've finally come out."

Abraham had arrived long ago. During the fight, Ethan had sensed a powerful presence hidden in the shadows. If not for his deep understanding of space, he wouldn't have noticed the anomaly in the surrounding dimensions.

It was precisely because Abraham was hiding that Ethan had been holding back throughout the fight, wary of a sudden ambush from this hidden Main God.

He wouldn't assume his enemies were upright and noble. Judging from how this couple had acted, the so-called Main Gods were no different from ordinary people with good family backgrounds. Who knew if this old veteran liked sneak attacks?

Unexpectedly, he hadn't shown himself until Teresa was injured. Judging from his appearance, was he intentionally waiting for this moment?

"Young man, she has already received her due punishment. It's time to stop."

"..."

Ethan narrowed his eyes. Compared to these Main Gods, his age was indeed insignificant. It was fair to call him a young man.

However, after reaching godhood, one's appearance could be freely changed and adjusted. Ethan could do this too. So it was meaningless to judge someone's age by appearance.

Judging from Douglas and Teresa's earlier reaction, they couldn't determine his age. But this newly arrived old Main God called him "young man" as soon as he spoke, as if he had already seen through Ethan's background.

"How are you so sure I won't kill her with a single punch?"

"I am sure."

The old man's voice was very soft. In this chaotic environment, if someone's hearing wasn't sharp, they wouldn't even be able to catch what he said. But Ethan heard him clearly.

This ordinary sentence revealed Abraham's absolute confidence. If Ethan had truly been able to kill Teresa with one punch, then Abraham would have stepped in to block it in advance.

Ethan looked at Abraham again. He noticed that Teresa and Douglas, standing not far behind, now looked visibly relieved.

Looking back at Abraham's expression, which seemed to say, "I'm giving you a lot of face, young man, you should be grateful," Ethan suddenly found it amusing.

"She tried to kill me. You think the matter ends with her being slightly injured?"

Abraham frowned but didn't speak. His attitude said clearly that this was indeed what he thought.

"Do you know what my stance is on enemies?"

Abraham remained silent. Suddenly, he sensed something was wrong. He turned to look in Teresa's direction and immediately saw Ethan appear behind her. At the same time, Ethan's left hand pierced through her chest from behind, clutching a ball of multi-colored light.

"Until death do us part."
