On the top floor of the royal castle, Chase and Mystogan stood side by side. They looked down at the capital below. The streets were crowded with panicked citizens.

The strange flow of magic in the sky had stopped. But it had made their fear of magic worse.

Seeing his army was losing, King Faust tried to steal magic from the Exceed kingdom. He wanted to turn the tide.
Erza and Gildarts stopped him. Desperate, he used the kingdom's ultimate weapon. The Dragon Knight. He fought Natsu, Gajeel, and Wendy. They captured him.
There were other things. Happy stood up for Carla. He saw his parents, but did not know it. Edo Lucy led the Edolas guild into battle. Gajeel met his counterpart, a war reporter.

"I am sorry, Chase. There is too much to do. I cannot hold a celebration," Mystogan said.
His face was still swollen. He was worried. The God Realm mages were a big problem. He needed to fix things here and talk to Acnologia.
"It is fine. Parties can wait."
Chase watched the army calm the people. "We cannot stay long anyway. The master is waiting."
They had been gone for days. The old man was probably worried.

Makarov, hiding in the guild, sneezed.
"Tell the master I am sorry. I will not be back for a while," Mystogan said.
He had to stay. He was the prince. He had led the invasion. He had to fix things.
"The master will understand. He would want you to stay."
Chase smiled. "And this way, we have a reason to come back."
Mystogan's eyes moved. He looked down. He clenched his fist.
"Can I still call myself a mage of Fairy Tail?"
He had planned to die alone. He had not told anyone.
He had lost the right. And now, he was staying here. He would not see the guild for a long time.
"It is not forever. Ask the master yourself. When things are calm."
Chase waved his hand.
He did not want to answer. Only the master could decide. Or the old man might use it against him later.
The usually reckless man was being careful. Mystogan knew why. He laughed.
"The master's job is that scary?"
"Ask Gildarts."
"I see your point."
The mood lightened.
"Take care of the master. And everyone. And Lily."
Lily wanted to stay and fight. But Gajeel wanted him as his cat. They almost fought.
Chase told them the God Realm mages were not coming yet. Lily could get stronger in Earthland. He could protect Edolas better.
With Chase's help and Mystogan's words, Lily agreed.
"Of course. But..."
Chase's face became serious.
Mystogan tensed.
A card appeared in Chase's hand.
"Hey. Do you want a wife?"
"What?!"
Mystogan took the card.
Inside, Erza Knightwalker looked up. She glared.
Their eyes met.
Mystogan's face turned red. "A wife?! That is the Fairy Hunter! Why are you..."
He was panicking. He wanted to throw the card away. But he did not want to hurt her.
He is too kind.
"I saw that blush. You like her."
Chase walked away. He left Mystogan alone.
"Chase! Get back here!"
"I am blushing because you said wife! Not because of her!"
