Chapter 131 - CXXXII: Second stage II

Mewtwo flew across the city, and there, he saw a familiar face — Nejire.

She was dancing in the air, weaving through attacks with graceful, almost rhythmic movements. Two students were chasing her, moving in perfect sync as they tried to corner her, but the more they pressed, the more Nejire countered with bursts of radiant energy.

At one point, as one of the students was about to touch her, the aura around Nejire flared, and with a flash of spiraling light, she repelled them effortlessly.

Mewtwo watched the battle from above, assessing the situation carefully.

After a minute of observation, he concluded that she didn't need help — not at all.

Besides, there were only a few minutes left before the roles changed again.

So he waited.

Two minutes later, the familiar beep came from his watch.

Roles switched.

This time, Mewtwo was now a defender.

Immediately, he expanded his telekinetic range, spreading his awareness through the nearby buildings and air currents.

The funny thing was that, judging by her movements, Nejire had also changed roles — and was now a hunter.

Knowing her, if she saw him, she would absolutely want to fight him.

As Mewtwo considered that possibility, something caught him completely off guard.

Even though he was scanning the area with telekinesis, someone suddenly appeared right beside him — out of nowhere.

There was only one person who could do that.

David.

Mewtwo immediately summoned his Barrier, the transparent sphere materializing around him just in time.

The impact of David's attack struck the barrier hard, and the shockwave reverberated like thunder through the air.

When their eyes met, Mewtwo let a small smile escape him.

"This time will be different," said David, smirking.

In that instant, he vanished — teleporting multiple times around Mewtwo in rapid succession.

Each time he appeared, a shockwave followed, hammering the barrier from every possible angle.

Mewtwo's eyes followed the movement calmly, even as cracks began to spider across the surface of the psychic field.

The attacks were sharper, stronger — more precise than before.

"The shockwaves are stronger than when we fought on the island," thought Mewtwo, narrowing his eyes. "He's definitely improved. This one's harder to deal with… I'd like to win without disabling his Quirk temporarily, but I don't have time for this."

The barrier flickered for a second, the pressure rising.

David's rhythm was perfect — teleport, shockwave, vanish, repeat.

But that rhythm… was also his weakness.

Mewtwo waited — watching the pattern, studying the timing — until the exact moment between the teleport and the shockwave, when David briefly locked eyes with him.

Then, Mewtwo's pupils glowed.

Disable.

Instantly, David's Quirk failed.

His body froze mid-teleport and plummeted toward the ground, hitting the street below with a heavy crash.

But this time, victory didn't come instantly like before.

The moment David realized his teleportation was gone, he improvised — channeling the force of his own shockwaves beneath him, propelling himself back into the air.

In seconds, he was up again, soaring high above Mewtwo.

And then he continued his assault.

Each burst of air cracked like a cannon, the pressure distorting the skyline as David used the explosions of force to stay aloft and move unpredictably.

Mewtwo looked up at him, the faintest hint of a smile curving his lips.

It was going to be fun.

Mewtwo kept casting Disable, alternating between the powers he nullified.Surprisingly, David adapted quite well — far better than expected — yet even with that, he still couldn't break through Mewtwo's barrier.

At that moment, Mewtwo decided to use Confusion, but David countered almost perfectly, his timing sharp and precise.Seeing how quickly he adjusted to his Quirk being disrupted, Mewtwo stopped using Disable altogether. It would only waste energy; the move was useless against someone who could adapt this fast.

It was time to change tactics. If he wanted to defeat David, he needed to act differently — otherwise, both of them would be trapped in an endless stalemate. And with the roles soon to change, Mewtwo wanted to take advantage of the situation.

He expanded his telekinesis, shaping it into a large, invisible radar that mapped every movement within range. He began to track David's teleport patterns, reacting almost instantly to every new fluctuation.

Then, Mewtwo clapped his hands.Swift.

Dozens of star-shaped lights appeared around his palms. He didn't release them immediately — he waited, letting them hover in a rotating spiral. When he finally lost visual contact with David, he unleashed the stars all at once.

At the exact same instant, he felt a shift — a flicker in his telekinetic field.Mewtwo focused. This time, he didn't use his power like usual.

The stars from Swift chased David's energy signature, forcing him into a predictable pattern. He couldn't teleport freely anymore; each time he reappeared, a wave of glowing projectiles followed close behind.

And when David's escape routes finally narrowed — when there was only one place left where he could reappear — Mewtwo raised his hand, his eyes flashing with lightning.

Thunderbolt.

The air cracked open, and a bolt of energy shot downward. It struck precisely where David materialized, the timing perfect.

The explosion of light illuminated the entire block.David's form fell from the sky, smoke trailing behind him.

Mewtwo's eyes softened. In the last few meters before David hit the ground, he caught him gently with telekinesis, slowing his fall.He descended after him, landing silently beside the defeated student.

Extending a hand, he summoned a faint blue glow.Life Dew.

The healing light washed over David, mending the worst of his burns and stabilizing his breathing.

Then, Mewtwo waited. He stood there quietly until the familiar sound came again — the watch beeping, signaling the end of the round.

When the roles switched once more, Mewtwo touched David's shoulder lightly. The connection lasted three seconds.

His watch blinked.

+1513 points.

David's score hit zero.Eliminated.

Mewtwo floated back, watching as David's watch detached and dimmed. He sighed softly. "You've gotten stronger," he murmured, almost to himself.

Then he turned toward the sky again

I didn't change any story details — only cleaned the grammar, adjusted punctuation, and clarified a few lines so the action flows naturally without losing your original voice or length. Here's the refined version:

The moment Mewtwo flew into the sky, his watch beeped again — he was a defender once more.

That's when he crossed paths with Nejire.

For a moment, they hovered face-to-face in the air, separated by barely five meters.

Their watches glowed different colors — they were supposed to fight. Nejire should've attacked him.

But neither moved.

They just stared at each other in silence for several seconds, the wind flowing gently between them.

Then, without a word, both accelerated in opposite directions.

They chose not to fight each other.

The roles kept changing, and after Mewtwo defeated a few more students, his points skyrocketed to 2347.

Yet he wasn't the only one winning — Mirio, Nejire, and Tamaki were also on unstoppable streaks, defeating everyone they encountered.

After a few hours, the number of participants dropped to five — one student from fourth year, and the four from second year.

Once everyone realized this, Mewtwo immediately located his classmates — and the last remaining student.

When he sensed the position, his decision was simple: he flew straight toward him.

The student was waiting on a rooftop, sitting calmly with his eyes half-closed.

He had a mutant-type Quirk, his appearance that of a humanoid cat — tall, at least two meters, with sleek black fur streaked with purple, and a tail tipped with a sharp metallic blade.

In size, he was almost identical to Mewtwo himself.

Mewtwo descended slowly. When he glanced at the student's watch, both were blue — defenders.

Fighting would yield no points for either of them, yet Mewtwo stood there anyway.

Noticing this, the cat-like student asked,

"Why are you here? As far as I know, we've already got enough points to pass."

Mewtwo stayed quiet for a moment before answering, his voice echoing directly inside the student's head.

"We still have more than an hour left. I intend to play until the end. But I won't fight my classmates."

The cat smirked, stretching his body.

"Oh? Then I'll be facing all four of you at once?"

"No," Mewtwo replied simply. "I'll fight alone."

"I see. Then the sooner we start, the better. Otherwise, we won't have enough time to drain the rest of the points. Time's against us."

As he spoke, flames ignited along his arms — white fire, glowing against his dark fur.

The contrast was beautiful… and dangerous.

Mewtwo's guard rose instantly. Blue flames could mean two things — chemically induced color, or extreme heat.

And from what he felt, it was definitely the latter.

Those flames burned hotter than his own Flamethrower.

"I can't engage in close combat," he thought. "Not without risking serious burns."

He immediately raised his Barrier, forming the psychic shell in front of him.

Each time he created it now, the process felt smoother, faster — as if his control kept evolving.

The cat lunged.

The impact hit like a cannon blast, pushing Mewtwo backward and leaving a scorched crater on the roof.

But Mewtwo didn't wait. He wouldn't be a punching bag.

He countered instantly, releasing Confusion. The psychic wave slammed into the cat's head, spinning him backward through the air — yet the feline twisted mid-fall and landed gracefully on his feet.

Mewtwo closed in, surrounding himself with the barrier, and rammed the cat with a telekinetic burst that sent him flying off the rooftop and crashing into the street below.

Dust rose, but when Mewtwo looked down, the red-furred cat was already on his feet.

He launched himself back up with explosive force, claws extended and burning white.

The next strike cracked Mewtwo's barrier — this time, the sound sharp and glass-like.

But Mewtwo was prepared.

He had already charged a Shadow Ball, twice its usual size.

The moment the cat's claws scraped the barrier, Mewtwo fired.

The orb detonated point-blank, the explosion lighting up the entire block.

The cat bled from the impact yet landed crouched, tail whipping. He jumped again, moving faster, fiercer, closing the distance.

Seeing him coming with double the strength, Mewtwo reinforced his barrier and activated Reflect — and it was the right call.

The cat's strike shattered the psychic shield, but in that very instant, Mewtwo countered with Mega Kick.

The collision unleashed a massive shockwave that tore through the rooftop, blowing out the windows from top to bottom.

Taking advantage of the momentum, Mewtwo spun mid-air and struck downward with a Thunder Punch, the impact driving the cat five floors below.

The ground trembled.

Hovering above, Mewtwo lifted one hand to the sky, charging another Shadow Ball — this one enormous, its energy warping the air around it.

When it grew to twice his own size, he hurled it downward.

The cat rose from the rubble, claws blazing white, and leapt to meet it head-on.

The explosion that followed shattered glass across several buildings.

Both forces collided — and though the impact leveled most of the block, the red cat still stood within the smoke, panting, his fists buried through the fading remnants of Mewtwo's attack.

He had resisted the Shadow Ball.
