Cherreads

Chapter 130 - CXXXI: Second Stage.

As the number of rabbits increased, Mewtwo kept his carefree behavior. He didn't want to reveal himself — not yet.

Besides, there was something he wanted to confirm: if one of those rabbits touched him, would he lose points?

Or did the user have to touch him directly? That would determine his next strategy.

If the Quirk worked through the creatures, he could just grab them with telekinesis — simple enough.

But if body contact was required, it would be harder.

He waited and waited until the first rabbit attacked.

Mewtwo acted distracted and "casually" moved his tail to let it bite there.

Just in case, he used Reflect to lessen the damage.

When the rabbit bit him, he twitched his tail as if he were in pain — and after three seconds, his watch beeped.

He lost a point.

Once he confirmed what happened, Mewtwo used Confusion and struck the rabbit, breaking it apart. Indeed, it was plastic.

Right after that, multiple rabbits attacked from all sides — all two hundred of them at once.

They tried to bite him, grab him, and steal more points, but none of them even managed to touch him.

He activated Barrier; every rabbit that got close bounced away helplessly.

At the same time, Mewtwo clapped his hands and used Swift multiple times.

Each explosion burst through the wave of rabbits, shattering them into fragments.

But there were too many.

Every second, more and more entered the area, piling up against the invisible wall of his barrier.

Soon, they began to climb on top of one another until the entire barrier was covered — a dome of writhing plastic rabbits trying desperately to break through.

"Mmm… this is a problem," Mewtwo muttered.

"He can't touch me like this, but I can't find the Quirk user either. I don't have a clue. The rabbits are coming from every direction — it's impossible to determine the real user's location. The question is… how? Why from everywhere? They should come from a single source."

As Mewtwo examined the area, even more rabbits joined the fray.

Eventually, though, the flow stopped — no new ones appeared.

Now he was surrounded by at least six hundred.

The timer still marked 9:04. So little time had passed, and aside from that one point the other student had stolen, it had been a fruitless hunt for them — wherever they were hiding.

"Now… what do I do? Destroy them all, I guess."

He clapped his hands again, but this time it wasn't Swift.

Flames formed between his palms — he was preparing Flamethrower.

It wasn't one of his main techniques, but against plastic, it was the perfect choice.

In an instant, he pushed his hand forward.

A torrent of fire burst out, melting every rabbit in his path.

The air filled with the sharp, chemical stench of burning resin, but Mewtwo kept going, sweeping the flames in wide arcs until half of the swarm was gone.

Then, unexpectedly, the rest began to flee — not in random directions, but all toward the same point.

And as they ran, their bodies started to melt on their own, fusing together into a single, growing mass.

Within seconds, all the remaining rabbits merged into one shape — a human figure.

At that moment, Mewtwo finally understood why they had come from every direction.

They weren't separate creations at all.

They were the Quirk user himself.

The human figure started to take shape.Suddenly, a student with black, glue-like hair appeared before him. From time to time, even his body looked as if it were about to melt.

The boy before Mewtwo looked at him with cautious eyes, assessing the threat. Then, without warning, he dispersed into two massive shapes — two giant T-Rex made of plastic.

Mewtwo observed them charge toward him, still keeping his barrier intact. Both dinosaurs began biting at it, their teeth scraping and grinding against the psychic surface.

Mewtwo noticed a strange sound — the vibration of stress — as cracks faintly appeared. They were really putting in effort, pushing against his barrier through sheer strength.

However, Mewtwo wasn't going to stay idle.

He raised one hand, charging a Shadow Ball, and launched it at one of the T-Rex.He didn't strike both, because he didn't know the result of eliminating them at once. If he destroyed both simultaneously, there was a possibility of killing the user — and that was something he couldn't allow.

So he targeted only one.

The Shadow Ball exploded on impact, obliterating the creature's head. The rest of its body immediately fell toward the other T-Rex — and fused with it.

In that moment, the dinosaur grew to twice its previous size. Its shape twisted, bones and scales reforming, until it became a massive dragon that loomed above Mewtwo's barrier.

Then, it attacked.

The dragon dove, slamming its claws and jaws down, pressing all of its weight against the barrier. It bit down, roaring, trying to crush it through brute force.

For the first time, Mewtwo saw visible cracks spreading through the barrier's surface. Considering that it could normally withstand the impact of a falling truck, this Quirk had surprising power.

Still, Mewtwo didn't flinch. It wasn't something he needed to fear — not yet. What concerned him more was how to stop this without wasting too much energy… and without hurting the other student.

"I can't use full telekinesis," he muttered. "It's too strong — I could break him without meaning to. Let's try this."

Mewtwo's eyes glowed. He used Confusion, the psychic wave slamming into the dragon's head. It staggered back, dazed, but didn't leave the barrier. Its maw remained pressed against the surface, still biting.

In the next instant, Mewtwo charged another Shadow Ball and launched it straight into the dragon's mouth, the explosion tearing it apart from the inside.

The creature collapsed to the ground with a thundering impact — and Mewtwo's expression shifted to one of concern.

The dragon had stopped biting the barrier. It had stopped moving entirely.

"...Shit," Mewtwo muttered, lowering his guard for just a moment.

But in the next instant, even he was taken aback.

From the dragon's neck, a drill — or rather, a spear — suddenly shot forward. And what shocked him wasn't the attack itself, but the fact that the entire dragon's body was turning into that spear.

The Quirk user reappeared.

In the blink of an eye, Mewtwo moved his head to the side. The spear pierced through the barrier and nearly impaled him.

At that moment, Mewtwo regretted lowering his guard out of compassion.

He instantly deactivated his barrier and reactivated it, this time stronger than before, and then flew straight into the other student's body.

Using the barrier itself as a ramming shield, Mewtwo struck with full force, sending the other student flying backward into a wall.

The plastic spear shattered on the ground, fragments scattering like glass. The student with the plastic Quirk lay embedded in the wall.

The student was still conscious. However, when he freed himself from the wall after a couple of minutes, he fell to the ground and struggled to stand.Suddenly, in that moment, his watch beeped.

"Round ended: changing the roles."

Mewtwo's watch changed color — now it glowed red, and the timer reset for fifteen minutes again. The opposite happened with the other student.

Seeing this, the boy's eyes widened. He stood up the best he could and tried to run.But as soon as he turned to escape, what he found before him was Mewtwo, already there.

"That speed…" he muttered — and before he could react, Mewtwo grabbed his head and slammed him into the ground.

At the same time, he felt an oppressive force holding his entire body together. He tried to disperse into mice, transforming his form, but the instant one of those creatures escaped, it was immediately destroyed.

Again and again he tried, but every time he lost control over his Quirk.Sometimes it didn't even activate. Panic surged.

His watch started beeping — every three seconds, he lost a point. He struggled, kicked, and clawed at the ground, trying to escape, but it was useless. The being above him was simply too strong.

He was going to lose. His points dropped from 400, to 350, to 310, slowly being dragged away.

He tried — truly tried — until he couldn't anymore. Then, Mewtwo struck his head with Confusion, and everything went dark.

For more than a couple of minutes, he remained unconscious. When his awareness finally returned, he found himself lying in the middle of the street, weak and disoriented. His last points were being drained away.

However, when he saw his score drop to 120, his watch beeped again — the familiar message appearing.

At that moment, Mewtwo stood up and stepped back, leaving the other student alone. If he couldn't steal more points, he wasn't going to humiliate him further.

"SECOND ROUND FINISHED.Changing roles: hunter.Time: 20:00."

This time, Mewtwo remained a hunter. He immediately looked at the other student's watch — the color had also turned red. That confirmed it: the role changes were truly random.

Without wasting a second, Mewtwo took off again. He had to stay among the top ranks.Currently, he had 1,062 points, and he intended to find more.

He flew high above the city, scanning the streets below.Expanding his telekinetic reach as far as he could, he searched for any sign of life — any movement. For several minutes, nothing.

Then, five minutes later, he saw someone.A student — hiding inside a building. No, not hiding… resting.

The boy leaned weakly against a wall, his body language heavy with exhaustion. From the faint blue glow of his watch, it was clear he was a defender. He must have already been in another fight.

But that didn't matter.Blue was blue.

Mewtwo descended silently and looked through the window. The student didn't even sense his presence before Mewtwo extended his telekinesis and slammed him to the ground with overwhelming force.

Without hesitation, Mewtwo used Confusion at close range. The unknown student didn't even realize what had happened before he was rendered unconscious.

Mewtwo approached and placed his hand gently on the other student's head.Instantly, the watch registered contact and began transferring points — his total climbing steadily — until a sudden beep interrupted the process.

But this time, it wasn't the timer. The message was different.

"DEFENDER REACHED 0 POINTS. GAME OVER."

At that moment, the defeated student's watch detached from his wrist and fell to the ground.Mewtwo looked at him — the boy was a little hurt, probably from a previous fight — so he used Life Dew on him, allowing his body to recover slightly.

Then, without another word, Mewtwo rose again into the air, his eyes glowing faintly. He turned toward the city and began searching for his next opponent.
