Maybe it was very adolescent of me to struggle to swear. It wasn't a struggle really, it was just that Ma had drilled it into my head that there were better ways to express myself without offending anyone. Being around Danilo and Benecio was definitely an experience, they cussed like clock work and I always thought it sort of suited them. Big dominant guys who no one would even try to correct if they swore. I, on the other hand, was a wallflower and I enjoyed it.
I only sometimes let the word slip when I was being sexed out of my mind. Bucky had definitely induced a few words from me but with Benecio I was shyer, I didn't know why but he had me feeling squirmish, as if he would burst out laughing if I ever did. However now, as his hazel eyes practically bored into mine I had a feeling me just uttering one word seemed to be the very thing that could make him come undone.
