Darkness POV.
Finally, I had left the interior of Fatgum and now we were running far behind Mirko. She was running quickly ahead of us, destroying wall after wall while her ears twitched as if she were looking for something, and maybe she was, because I could hear the sounds of a fight getting closer and closer, and before long, she smiled wildly before breaking through one last wall.
And I could hear dozens of wails, pleas in different languages. My body moved on its own toward the hole in the wall, only to stop when I saw the mutated monsters, and a shiver of disgust ran through my entire body as I stared at them.
Oh goddess.
"Mirko! Don't kill them! Just make sure they're incapacitated !" Focus hands and legs!" Eraser Head shouted in the middle of the fight. My head swung in his direction, and I raised my shield without hesitation. A wave of fire engulfed all the heroes, granting them the shield's benefits. I heard several thank yous before launching myself into the fight.
I grabbed my shield and charged towards a group of them, pushing them back as they attacked to destabilize it. I gritted my teeth to prepare myself, feeling a repulsion as my sword sliced through the mutated arms and legs of the monsters to disable it. The pleas that came out of their mouths made me shudder.
Even so, I gritted my teeth as I moved on to the next monster.
Before long, the monsters around us began to dwindle. The main group had already taken out most of them before we entered the room, so it only took a short time to finish off the rest.
I could see dozens of those monsters writhing and trying to crawl in our direction. Several of Izumi's summons, the horned rabbits, emerged from the heroes' backs or wherever they were hiding and began healing the monsters, enough to stop the bleeding.
"Where is Overhaul?!" Mirko exclaimed with a furious expression on her face.
"Not here. We don't know how, but those monsters just appeared in front of us. It's possible Izumi couldn't contain them all or he's too busy with Overhaul," Eraser Head said immediately.
"In any case, we have to get to him immediately," Sir Nighteye added as they prepared to run. Mirko didn't even wait; she just took off.
"I'll stay here, you all go!" Rock Lock interrupted through gritted teeth. "I'm completely useless against dungeon monsters, I couldn't do anything in this fight! I'll only get in the way later!" Rock Lock said firmly, and we all turned to look at her.
"No-"
"Go! You have a job to do! " Rock Lock snapped firmly. "I'll make sure to guide the police and the other heroes to get the... mutated people out of here. Now go! " Rock Lock snapped. All the heroes stared at her for a few seconds.
"I'll stay too. Help transport the people. We have to get them to safety." Fatgum said without hesitation, his expression solemn. "Besides, my fighting style isn't suitable for fighting Chisaki and the dungeon monsters. I'll just be getting in their way." Fatgum added without any shame.
"Let's go." Sir Nighteye said through gritted teeth. We all looked at them, but he just nodded at the two heroes and turned to start running. I looked at Fatgum worriedly, who nodded and gave me a thumbs-up.
"Defend them!" Fatgum said with a smile. I nodded and started running after them.
We quickly followed the trail of destruction Mirko had left, a path directly leading to where Izumi was fighting. Finally, we reached the gap and looked down.
My eyes widened when I saw the hundreds of fused monsters. Izumi and Mirko were in the middle, both staring at the door, and I caught a glimpse of them out of the corner of my eye. A huge, mutated creature, unlike the others, stepped into the portal. I looked at it, confused. Since when did monsters enter portals?
"We are-"
"Get out of here!!" Izumi interrupted Eraser Head's shout. We all looked at Izumi, who had an urgent expression. Then a head emerged from the portal and roared so loudly it shook me to my core.
What the hell is that?
---------------
Izumi POV.
I dodged Chisaki's next attack while severing two of her hands. The fusion had given Chisaki a huge power boost, enough to increase her speed by one level, but the most annoying thing was that now I had to watch out for four arms.
Their speed was still far inferior to mine, but having to constantly watch out for three of their arms was a huge nuisance. Especially since I couldn't defend myself against them, I couldn't block their blows; any touch to them would either kill Mai or destroy my swords.
And the less we talk about incapacitating her, the better. If I couldn't cut off both hands at the same time before, cutting off four definitely wasn't an option at this point. I could cut off two or three of them at the same time when she attacked with several of her hands simultaneously.
But one of her hands was always behind her body, far enough away that it took me more than a fraction of a second to reach it, just long enough for her to still be able to react and activate her quirk.
So the fight continued as before, completely at a standstill. Luckily, I could feel the other heroes rapidly approaching our position.
In fact, the explosions grew louder and louder; I could feel Mirko approaching rapidly like a super-fast wrecking ball. And I wasn't the only one who felt it; Chisaki did too and quickly began to panic.
I could see her facade of calm finally breaking down, annoyance and anger beginning to surface within her, making her movements more clumsy, but she still couldn't completely incapacitate her, especially now that she had four damn arms.
Finally, a nearby wall was completely destroyed, revealing Mirko.
"Where's the fight?!" roared Mirko with a wild grin.
"Go find Aizawa! We can't stop her! " I yelled to Mirko as I dodged Chisaki's hand.
"Haa !? Is she causing you problems!? I'll take care of it!" Mirko said with a wild grin.
"For the love of—" I growled loudly as I lunged at Chisaki. "Don't let her touch you with her hands!" I yelled at Mirko.
"I know it!" Mirko shouted angrily, appearing behind Chisaki and kicking her hard in the back.
"No! Her arms! Hit her arms! " I yelled at Mirko, as I cut Chisaki's arm once again.
"What the hell are you talking about-" Mirko stopped as Chisaki exploded in blood and regenerated, trying to attack us at the same time, I easily dodged her while Mirko turned sharply in place.
"Yes! That's what she does! Arms, now!" I yelled to Mirko, and I lunged back towards Chisaki with her. She clicked her tongue. I approached from Chisaki's left side, while Mirko appeared from the right.
Both arms were close enough to be cut off at the same time. Mirko moved simultaneously, turning horizontally, and her two legs struck the wrists of both arms hard at the same time. Unfortunately, her aura protected her enough to prevent her from tearing them off. Even so, a loud crack was heard as Chisaki's bones immediately broke.
Chisaki just grunted, I could see that her fingers couldn't move enough, to my annoyance, Chisaki could still move her arms, so she moved her upper arm quickly and waved her hand to hit her body clumsily, Chisaki exploded in blood once again.
"Damn it!" I yelled as I dodged Chisaki's next attack. "You need to cut off her hands! Rip them off if you have to! " I yelled at Mirko.
"Huh?! How do I do that, you idiot?! " Mirko yelled as she spun around and punched Chisaki once more. Chisaki rebooted.
"You have teeth, don't you?! " I yelled as I cut off Chisaki's arms once more. Chisaki rebooted.
"I only have one mouth, can't you see I'm busy with two hands?! What am I supposed to do with the other one?!" Mirko yelled, yet she still moved her feet, executing an excellent scissor attack with her legs that tore off one of Chisaki's hands, but the other remained completely unharmed. She simply rebooted.
"Just one?! You need to rip out both of them!" I yelled at Mirko, my swords digging into her arms again.
"I know! Shut up and keep cutting off hands! " Mirko yelled furiously. This time she used Haki on her feet, and one of Chisaki's hands flew off immediately. Unfortunately, the second one was there a fraction of a second later, and Chisaki reset herself. "Damn it! Just fall already!" Mirko growled angrily.
"One more time!" I yelled at Mirko, she just growled and moved, this time I brought Agito so we could attack at the same time.
"Enough! You won't stop me! I'll kill you all!!!" Chisaki growled furiously. Before the three of us could reach her, Chisaki exploded again, even though she was unharmed. My eyes snapped open, and I prepared to dodge the attack. But what appeared in front of me wasn't Chisaki, but a person. Chisaki had defused and thrown me toward the civilian. I let my shadows consume the person to bring them to safety.
Just then I saw Chisaki lightly touch Agito and kill her, I felt the power of the shikigami return within me, I almost growled in annoyance, at the same time, she touched the ground.
She used the same strategy again, creating obstacles around us and in our path, while pushing incapacitated monsters and those coming towards us in her direction. I easily cut through all the obstacles and lunged towards Chisaki to prevent her from fusing again.
Unfortunately, Chisaki was already beside the first monster; both exploded in blood. I tried to attack her when Chisaki threw another Civilian at my face. I gritted my teeth as I threw her back into my shadows, but the delay was enough for Chisaki to finish merging with… with the monster.
My eyes widened slightly as I took in Chisaki's mutated form. Like her human-monster creations, she was vastly deformed, or at least she was if we go by the standard of her fusion with another person.
My initial shock was enough to make Chisaki approach another group of monsters. Chisaki touched everyone immediately, and they all exploded in blood. Chisaki began throwing civilians, unconscious people, onto the spikes she had created around us—not one or two, but dozens of civilians.
Both Mirko and I clicked our tongues and were forced to detour to grab the civilians. I threw them into my shadows while Mirko carried them on her back and set them down on solid ground.
But that deviation was enough for Chisaki to keep fusing and fusing, I watched solemnly as Chisaki continued fusing again and again with more monsters while running wildly.
Chisaki's form grew increasingly abnormal, more mutant, larger, devoid of any shape or control, running wildly toward her next target. But most importantly, she could feel her power continuing to grow.
"We have to stop her!" Mirko growled as she got other civilians to safety.
"Really? You don't say! If you have a damn idea, speak up now!" I growled in frustration.
Finally, we could all hear the crowd of people running in our direction, which made Chisaki even more desperate, so she continued absorbing more and more monsters at an abnormal speed, enough so that she couldn't see her entire body before she herself turned into a mist of blood before regenerating into a new form.
Just as the other heroes arrived through the hole Mirko had made, and not only them, the ceiling cracked and Ryukyu began to fall from the ceiling. I couldn't see Rika, the villain, anywhere, so did she just come down? I didn't have time to think about it when Chisaki roared and headed towards the dungeon portal. I looked at her confused as I got the rest of the civilians to safety.
Why on earth would I want to go into a broken dungeon? There shouldn't be anyone in there, no-
My eyes widened. Without hesitation, I fully activated my Observation Haki and paled. Unless Chisaki had more rooms completely hidden from my detection, I had overlooked something very important.
The appearance and appearance of the human monsters had taken me so by surprise that I forgot something really important.
Where… where the hell was the dungeon boss?
And the answer, surely, lies behind that portal, contained somehow. Grit your teeth.
I saw Chisaki enter the dungeon. Then, not even a second later, it seemed as if the portal was becoming unstable, as if it were about to close—something that happens when the dungeon boss is killed. Chisaki had reached the dungeon boss.
The door seemed about to close when, at that moment, I saw an enormous creature burst out of the portal with immense fury. It was a completely deformed creature. The first thing that emerged was what appeared to be its main head; it wasn't even a proper head.
It was a monstrous mass that formed a jaw, if you could call it a jaw, there were rows of teeth and jaws one after another, the lower part was open and split while more rows of teeth shook.
From the middle, a thick, muscular tongue emerged, curling outwards with various protuberances at the tip. There were no visible eyes on the top, only torn, muscular flesh.
At her sides were two deformed arms that tried to force their way through, piercing the earth with such ease as she propelled her enormous body out of the portal. The arms were muscular and deformed, with small protrusions sprouting from them that moved unnaturally. In her hand was a massive claw, sharp enough to tear the earth apart with ease.
Then the rest of the creature continued to emerge. The thick torso was completely deformed, and… finally, I saw Chisaki. A pale shadow of what she had been. She was on top of the creature, at least her torso and head. Her arms were gone; instead, she had tentacles that wrapped around her and sprouted from her back. Her skin had turned pale and deformed.
Her face barely showed any trace of her; she still had her Plague mask, but now it seemed fused with the rest of her flesh.
On either side of it were two enormous skeletal wings made of white skin, almost as deformed as the rest of its body, but they still seemed strong enough to lift the creature.
Finally, the creature emerged completely from the portal, a long tail swishing behind it. The creature roared before it began to climb into the newly formed hole in the sky, its legs and claws gripping the walls. Its body was so large that it filled a significant portion of the room, preventing it from moving. She flew, but that didn't stop her from climbing.
The Creature roared as a beam of light shot out of its mouth and struck all the nearby heroes.
Then the vision ended and I saw Chisaki running towards the portal.
Oh fuck no!
Author's Notes: I'm not good at describing things, for the most part, so bonus points to anyone who guessed Chisaki's form even then! If you didn't, I'll tell you: she's the mutated dragon version of Alcina Dimitrescu, only much bigger.
Alcina's mutated form was one of the first things that came to mind when I thought about the fusion between monsters and deformed humans with Chisaki's quirk, and I liked it enough to include it.
Now, I'm satisfied with how the whole raid and fight is going so far, although I'll admit there are some parts that seem a bit weak to me, but maybe it's just me. In any case, I hope you're enjoying it so far.
