As Kid Buu came hurtling toward them, neither Goku nor Gotenks moved to intercept him immediately. Instead, they stared at George in absolute shock. The Supreme Kai, Piccolo, and the others were equally stunned.
They had known George possessed some combat ability, but they assumed it was modest. After all, he had only learned to use Ki a few months ago. Yet, the power George had just unleashed surpassed everyone present. Even Gotenks in his Super Saiyan 3 state couldn't match the sheer pressure George had radiated moments ago.
"I have a bit of a knack for the Kaioken," George explained, brushing off the attention. "I can just barely manage a hundred-fold increase, but only for a split second. My body can't handle any more than that."
"A hundred-fold Kaioken!"
The group exchanged bewildered glances. They had never imagined the technique could be pushed to such an extreme. What made it more incredible was that George had only acquired the move recently.
"GYAAAH!"
Kid Buu, sent flying by the kick, let out a furious roar. Lacking any shred of reason, he ignored everyone else and lunged back toward George. In his primal mind, George was the one who had struck him, and therefore, George had to be erased.
Goku and Gotenks quickly snapped out of their daze and gave chase. George had already admitted he could only maintain that power for an instant; without the massive Kaioken multiplier, he would be no match for the monster. The two Super Saiyan 3s intercepted the evil creature, and a chaotic melee resumed.
George watched from the sidelines, his analytical gaze sweeping over the fight. They can hold their own, but killing him is the real problem.
Kid Buu was a nightmare to eliminate. His regeneration was so potent that unless he was vaporized to the last atom in a single burst, he would simply reform from the smallest scrap of flesh. In the original timeline, it took Goku's Spirit Bomb to finish the job. At this rate, the attrition would eventually favor the monster. Goku's Super Saiyan 3 transformation was draining his life force, and the fusion of Gotenks only had minutes remaining.
Sure enough, as the battle dragged on, Gotenks reached his limit and split back into Goten and Trunks. Meanwhile, Goku's movements grew sluggish as his stamina withered. Kid Buu began to regain the upper hand.
"Goku, catch!"
George flicked his wrist, tossing a small green bean through the air. Goku caught it and swallowed it without hesitation. Instantly, his wounds vanished and his Ki surged back to its peak, allowing him to suppress Buu once again.
Whenever Goku neared exhaustion, George would toss another Senzu Bean. After the tenth bean, Piccolo couldn't stay silent.
"I thought Korin only gave us two beans?"
Ever since Yajirobe had famously devoured Korin's centuries-old stockpile, production had been agonizingly slow. Korin had only managed to spare two for this mission. Yet, George had already handed out ten.
"I made a few adjustments to that 'Materialization' trick I learned from you," George said with a wink. "I can produce them indefinitely now."
The group stared at him as if he were an alien. A bean that could fully restore a fighter's health and energy was a miracle; the ability to produce them infinitely changed the nature of the war. Goku could now literally grind Majin Buu down. Even with high-speed regeneration, Buu's internal reserves weren't infinite. Eventually, his recovery would lag.
Furthermore, as a Saiyan, Goku possessed the Zenkai trait—growing stronger every time he pushed his body to the brink and recovered. By repeating this cycle, Goku would eventually widen the gap until he could delete Buu with a single blow.
The victory seemed secure. Only Vegeta stood apart, gritting his teeth in frustration. He could feel the gap between himself and Kakarot widening into a chasm he might never cross.
"Actually," George said, striking up a conversation while Goku continued to pummel Kid Buu, "I've been researching a way to stimulate the body's hidden potential. It's how my physical frame was able to survive that hundred-fold Kaioken."
"Physical potential?" Krillin and Piccolo looked over, and even Vegeta's ears perked up.
"Exactly," George explained. "It uses Ki to micro-stimulate the nervous system and cellular structure, forcing the body to evolve and grow stronger."
Krillin nodded. "Like the Grand Elder on Namek? Gohan and I had our potential unlocked there."
"Not quite," George said, wagging a finger. "The Grand Elder unlocked your potential regarding Ki—your spiritual energy. But for people like Mr. Goku and Mr. Vegeta, who train relentlessly, that potential is already being tapped into every day. There isn't much 'leftover' for a Guru to find."
"That's what the Old Kai said about Goku," the Supreme Kai chimed in.
George nodded. "But my method is different. It targets the physical vessel itself, increasing raw biological strength. Even if your Ki potential is maxed out, your body can still be reinforced. As a side effect, it can even extend your lifespan and restore youth."
"Restore youth? George, let me try!" Krillin exclaimed, his eyes lighting up.
George didn't hesitate. He placed a hand on Krillin's head. "Alohomora!"
Using the Unlocking Charm to bypass the biological "genetic locks" within Krillin's DNA, George forced a massive reinforcement of his physical form. Krillin, who had been settling into middle age, suddenly transformed. His skin tightened, and he reverted to the youthful, peak version of himself from the days of the 23rd World Martial Arts Tournament.
"It's real! I feel incredible!" Krillin shouted, feeling his power nearly double as he looked at his reflection in a mirror George conjured.
"George!" Piccolo stepped forward immediately.
George obliged, unlocking Piccolo's genetic potential as well. Piccolo's combat power surged from 7.5 billion to a staggering 30 billion—a fourfold increase. Because Namekians were naturally more robust than humans, and Piccolo had already fused with the strongest Namekian warrior, his ceiling was much higher.
"You're George, right? Do me next!"
Vegeta gripped George's shoulders, his face a mask of desperate urgency. George smiled and placed a hand on the Prince's head. This time, however, he did more than just unlock a genetic cap. Using his deep understanding of biology, he forcibly stimulated the latent primal nature of the Saiyan race.
A tail—the source of a Saiyan's primal power—sprouted from Vegeta's lower back. George didn't stop there. Drawing on his authority over the "Moon" pathway, he replicated the unique Bruitz Waves of the moon and condensed them directly into Vegeta's core.
"ARGHHH!"
Vegeta let out a primal roar. His Ki skyrocketed at a terrifying rate. Red fur began to sprout across his torso and arms, and his hair lengthened, turning a deep, dark brown.
"His power... it's increased four thousand times," George noted with satisfaction.
Vegeta had successfully achieved Super Saiyan 4.
This was exactly what George wanted. Super Saiyan 1 was a 50x multiplier; SSJ2 was 100x; SSJ3 was roughly 400x. But SSJ4 reached a colossal 4,000x multiplier. George needed this massive flare of energy to act as a beacon—a cosmic alarm clock to wake the God of Destruction from his slumber.
To ensure the plan worked, George subtly manipulated the "Wheel of Fortune" to nudge destiny in his favor. Soon, he would meet the Gods and Angels. His next goal was the Ultra Instinct technique and a seat at the highest table in the multiverse: Zen-Oh's Palace.
"Hahaha! Kakarot, I've finally surpassed you! Now, let me save your life for once!"
Vegeta vanished, reappearing behind Kid Buu in an instant. Goku had just hit another wall of exhaustion, and Kid Buu was preparing a counter-attack. But before the monster could move, the new Vegeta was there.
The gap was hilarious. Kid Buu's combat power sat around 400 billion, while Super Saiyan 4 Vegeta was now hovering around 3.6 trillion.
"Galick Gun!"
Vegeta kicked the monster into the stratosphere and unleashed a blinding purple pillar of energy. The blast was so intense it didn't just break Buu apart; it vaporized him instantly, leaving nothing behind but scattered atoms in the vacuum of space.
"I never imagined there was a transformation like that!"
Goku, reverting to his base form, looked at Vegeta's new appearance with genuine joy rather than jealousy. He saw a new horizon to chase.
That's the difference between the two, George thought. Vegeta's drive was born of pride and a refusal to lose to a "low-class" warrior, making him obsessed with the gap. But Goku's drive was a pure, innocent love for the heights of martial arts. He didn't care if someone passed him; it just meant there was someone new to fight.
Meanwhile, at the far edge of the universe, on a world shaped like an inverted pyramid, Lord Beerus, the God of Destruction, snapped his eyes open.
"Lord Beerus, you're awake," Whis, the attendant and teacher, said as he floated over. "That was quite a short nap. I expected you to sleep for another decade at least."
Beerus rubbed his temples, looking annoyed. "I didn't finish my sleep. I was startled awake by a dream."
"What kind of dream?" Whis asked curiously.
"A fight. A fight that actually made me break a sweat," Beerus muttered. "My opponents were three men. They were... Super... Super something? I can't remember."
Beerus shook his head. "Whatever. Let's find something to eat, blow up a few planets to improve my mood, and then I'll think about it."
"I have a few planets in mind," Whis said, leading the way. "Oh, by the way, Frieza is dead." He projected a vision of Frieza's demise on Namek and his subsequent failure on Earth.
"Frieza actually got killed? I suppose those Saiyans have some backbone after all," Beerus mused. "After we eat and I take a bath, let's go visit those survivors. I have a feeling my dream had something to do with them."
Frieza was a useful tool who did Beerus's "chores" while he slept, but Beerus didn't care about the tyrant's death. He was far more interested in the source of the massive energy spike that had disturbed his slumber.
Back on Earth, George felt a shift in the threads of fate. It worked. Now, I need to reach Sequence 0 as soon as possible.
His current peak was around a trillion—strong enough to dominate Buu, but a speck compared to Beerus. To be taken seriously by the Angels and taught Ultra Instinct, he needed to be on a different level. Even SSJ4 Goku and Vegeta wouldn't be enough; if a Super Saiyan Blue was a '1,' Beerus was a '6,' and Whis was a '15.'
But once George reached Sequence 0: Twilight Giant and combined it with the Kaioken, he would finally be playing in the same league as the Gods.
