Marchionne's eyes went blank for a moment, then he understood: "A shrinking potion? Or a shrinking spell?"
"That's right." Wade nodded.
"Once a person becomes small, the ordinary environment suddenly turns into a world full of dangers. Mosquitoes, mantises, toads… all become terrifying enemies. Danger brings stimulation, and stimulation brings joy."
Marchionne stroked his chin and, after thinking for a while, said: "Like when you enlarged insects in Hogwarts' maze game?"
Wade: "…"
"Don't be surprised." Marchionne chuckled. "I told you before, I have plenty of friends—some even in this school."
"It's actually not the same."
Wade said, "A few enlarged insects are nothing more than additional scary monsters. Throwing a fire dragon into the maze would produce the same effect."
"But if a person shrinks to the size of a thumb, then even an ordinary garden becomes a mysterious, magical world—
The grass becomes a dense forest, stones turn into rugged mountains, a puddle is a lake, and as for trees… can you imagine how towering and majestic they would appear in the eyes of someone so tiny?"
"You could even explore inside an anthill, fight with fox spirits, ride a dragonfly as a flying mount, or live inside a flower with fairies. Don't you want to experience a life like that?"
"There are also countless small creatures we usually ignore, but once our perspective is shrunk, they'll reveal a wondrous side we've never seen before."
As Wade spoke, a marvelous picture unfolded before Marchionne's eyes. Every sentence was like a key, gently turning and opening a door to another world.
At first, he thought the "Lilliput" was nothing more than a variation of the maze game. But now he realized that the visual shift from shrinking was secondary—the natural environment itself was brimming with endless charm.
"In that case, even a small garden could serve as the game's stage. The cost would be almost negligible—the biggest expense would only be the shrinking potion…"
Marchionne's breathing grew heavier, but then he sank into deep worry.
"But… the shrinking potion isn't that hard. At least half of all wizards could brew a decent one. That means they could just adventure in their own gardens or vegetable patches. Why would anyone spend money to come to my amusement park?"
Wade had already thought about this. A series of games flashed quickly through his mind—
Live-action CS, escape rooms, werewolf games, role-playing…
Don't those players already have paintball guns, cards, or places to play in?
The money people spend on those games far exceeds the cost of simply preparing their own setups. And yet they still love them, endlessly. Why?
"That's why your amusement park has to include more elements—so people feel that only here can they have the most fun."
Wade added: "If the Lilliput Adventures isn't just sightseeing and survival, but also combines adventure, puzzles, story quests, magical mechanisms, team battles, sieges, defense and war, reenacting the life of a legendary wizard…"
Marchionne's chest rose and fell violently. The collar of his shirt slid with his swallowing motions.
He couldn't help but grab Wade's arm, as though he could already see countless gold coins pouring down on him like a rainstorm, his very eyes turning into Galleons.
"Wade—"
Just then, a clear, crisp voice interrupted Wade.
His words stopped abruptly. He looked up, and in front of the judges' stand, Natalia stood on tiptoe and waved at him.
In the audience, many people turned their eyes toward the girl. Even the heads of the wizarding schools stopped their conversations and looked at the two of them.
"What are you waiting for?" Natalia, oblivious to the stares, shouted loudly:
"Hurry up! The match is about to start!"
The other nine champions were already gathered around the judges' table—only Wade was still off to the side talking.
Wade raised his hand in a small gesture, then turned to Marchionne with a smile: "Let's discuss this in detail after the match."
Marchionne instinctively tightened his grip, reluctant to let Wade leave, wanting to hear him elaborate further on his ideas.
Although Wade had only spoken a few words just now, countless associations had already exploded in Marchionne's mind like fireworks. But they were too jumbled, too vague—he desperately needed Wade to explain and sort them out clearly.
Then Marchionne realized it was impossible at the moment. Helplessly, he released Wade's arm and sighed: "Go, go—just make sure you come find me right after the match! I promise, the terms will definitely satisfy you!"
Pitifully, Marchionne watched Wade stride quickly toward the judges' stand. Then he began pacing back and forth in place and occasionally pulled out parchment to jot down keywords.
His mustache quivered with excitement as he muttered under his breath:
"Adventures in Lilliput… so this is a kind of adventure… team battles… ha, families can't stand against another… this will absolutely sweep through the entire wizarding world…"
A young man ran up to ask for instructions: "Mr. Marchionne, do you think the setup of the streaming mirrors needs any further adjustment?"
Marchionne waved his hand impatiently: "Trivial matters like that—ask Colliver about it. Don't bother me!"
"Uh?" The young man scratched his head in confusion.
The boss had skipped two meetings just to attend the second event of the tournament—he thought the boss was taking this activity very seriously!
With no other choice, the young staffer skipped over reporting to the boss and ran off to find Mr. Colliver, the one in charge.
Marchionne, meanwhile, casually found an empty seat at the edge of the stands and continued scribbling furiously on his parchment, drafting out the game design. Suddenly, a head leaned over.
Professor Murray glanced at the parchment, where the writing looked more like scrawls than actual words. After staring for a long moment and recognizing barely a few of them, he asked suspiciously:
"Marchionne, what were you talking about with Wade just now?"
Marchionne looked up and stared at him blankly for a while, his gaze made it obvious that his mind was still wandering in another dimension. He hadn't returned to reality yet.
So Murray repeated the question, this time more forcefully.
Marchionne jolted as if shocked, his dazed eyes instantly sharpening. He fixed his gaze on the professor and blurted out something Murray never expected:
"You're wrong, Professor Murray!"
"What?" A flicker of bewilderment flashed in Murray's eyes.
Marchionne spoke with deep regret, almost grief: "You shouldn't have taught Wade alchemy! He should be doing business with me instead. Professor, do you realize what an incredible commercial genius you've wasted?"
Murray: "…?"
Stunned in silence, Professor Murray let out a cold laugh and his eyes gradually grew dangerous.
…
As Wade listened to Bagman explaining the rules of the match, he couldn't help but glance back—
Did I just faintly hear Marchionne screaming?
The sound was so quiet, it almost seemed like an illusion.
