The man dashed towards Reveria with a sword in hand. Reveria pulled out small dagger and blocked his attack. Then she immediately used her other hand to slash at him with another dagger. The man dodged the attack by a narrow margin. He then tried slash the sword at Reveria again and again but she blocked all attacks successfully. The man getting frustrated, summoned a black mist out of nowhere and directed it at Reveria.
"Black arts!" Reveria said to herself. Then she pulled out a long thin blade and slashed horizontally in such great speed that her movement wasn't visible at all. She suddenly appeared behind the man and cut his neck. The man's head separated from his body and both fell downwards.
Avon and Laia who were watching this were shocked by the intense midair fight and the way their master killed the man. They didn't understand how she switched her location so quickly too. The body and the head of the man suddenly blew up in a second after he was decapitated. A dark green smoke covered a huge part of the sky. The blast caught Reveria off-guard. She instinctively flew out of there but damage was done. Reveria felt her power deplete. The smoke entered her bloodstream through the pores on the skin and weakened her significantly.
"You fell right into the trap! Now die" Suddenly another person slashed at Reveria from behind. She barely dodged it and turned around to see two more evil cultivators. Her eyes widened as she sensed many more approaching.
She had definitely sensed only one but now there were many right before her eyes!
Then she stored her weapon back in the storage space and pulled out two identical looking swords. One was black and the other was white in colour. There was a shift in the atmosphere. It became very gloomy. Reveria without hesitation dashed towards the man who attacked her and slashed at him. He tried to block it with his axe but her sword cut the axe like butter and slashed his head away. Then she did the same to the second man who had come. Soon she was surrounded by almost twenty more and they all rushed at her together. Reveria quickly pirouetted and slashed at all of them at once. The attack didn't damage them much but disrupted their momentum and then she cut them down one by one at incredible speed.
The heretics kept on using strange attacks that summoned water or electricity or intense light out of thin air. Reveria too responded in kind and sometimes it looked as though she paused time or frozen space for a small duration.
Avon and Laia couldn't believe what they were witnessing. Reveria then flew away from all the bodies after they had been killed but none blasted like the first. She was panting heavily now. The smoke in her booldstream was very poisonous to the body. Reveria's eyes widened as she noticed one more being approaching.
' tch, 7th level Manipulator stage. This was a well planned trap!"
Reveria immediately flew higher until she almost out of Earth's atmosphere. It seemed that she could survive in space. Looking at this Avon and Laia were shocked.
Reveria immediately slashed her sword towards empty space when the sword's momentum was stopped mid attack and a figure revealed himself, defending against the sword.
"Looks like the trap worked huh....9th level master stage..hmmm...looks like the Blade Empress has had some gains since her disappearance. Well, how unfortunate that it seems that you can't exert the power of even a 5th level master. With your capabilities, it wouldn't impossible to say that I would have to be careful if you could exert your full power, but alas, this is your end"
The man said in a relaxed manner. Avon and Laia didn't understand what he said because Reveria had not explained the cultivation stages to them.
Without saying anything Reveria continued attacking him and he kept on blocking. She didn't give him the chance to counterattack. Then she put one sword into storage and immediately shot a black mass of concentrated energy from her palm which hit the man and he screamed loudly "arrghh" and coughed up some blood. His blood seemed to be black.
The man didn't expect her to still be so agile and capable of exerting significant strength behind her strikes. He was surprised when she attacked him so aggressively and the moment the lost his form slightly, she attacked with the black mass.
The look in the man's eyes changed, his face seemed very upset. His demeanor changes and he became more aggressive.
"tch" the man agitated now, dashed towards Reveria and kicked towrds her. Even though Reveria put up her sword to block on time, the difference in strength led to the attack coming through. She was pushed back and her abdomen took some damage.
She barely managed to save the sword form breaking. Drawing out another long and thin sword, silver with a golden hilt. She stood breathing heavily. The attacks she made were her pushing herself beyond the limits. With the damage she just took, she felt her chances of victory futher lower.
'Just a few more proper strikes....'
To Avon and Laia, the fight was incomprehensible. They didn't understand how was Reveria even breathing in space, let alone pant so heavily.
Reveria immediately redirected the incoming punch to the side and slashed the man's abdomen. He lost his posture momentarily and in that short moment another black mass of energy hit him and his body revolted from within. The man then looked at Reveria with his bloodshot eyes. His killing intent leaking out. He released purple-black smoke from his hand at Reveria which took the form of a chain. Reveria's eyes widened and she released a white smoke which did the same. The chains locked on to each other and then no one moved for a while.
"Avon and Laia come out"
