It was a pleasant day but a lady with a tensed face walked on the footpath. She had blonde hair and golden eyes. She was tall in stature. She usually had a very commanding body language but not now. Her shoulders draped downwards, anyone could see that she was probably very tired and exhausted from whatever her work was. She was wearing a long brown coat and wore black heels. An ID card hung around her neck with only the band being visible while the card was inside the coat
'This is getting more and more difficult day by day. I need to find a proper solution or else it will drag on forever'
Lost in thought the woman didn't seem to pay much attention to her surroundings still she accurately avoided all the men on the footpath who tried to crash into her on purpose. Some had the intention to rob her, some to hit on her. She avoided and ignored them.
She kept on walking lost in her thoughts. Once again she noticed a man standing without moving in any direction on the footpath. She just glanced at him, planning to walk avoiding him too but noticed that the man was not looking at her. He was lost deep in thought. He had a tensed face and sweating a bit. His foot was bouncing continuously, clearly he was nervous about something.
As she was going across him she heard a big sigh come from the man.'He must be having a tough day too '. Then the woman continued . "Excuse me" she heard the man say looking at her all of a sudden. Then the woman stopped and looked towards the man. He had good facial features and a little bit of beard growing. His hair was not well kept. 'I should have just ignored ....what if he is the same kind as those idiots. Just want to waste my time'
As the woman thought these things she came a bit closer to the man who called her out and said "Yes?"
"You work at the Nebula academy right?"
"Yes I do"
"Do you mind if I ask a few basic questions? Please..."
"No, please ask"
"How does one enroll there and how much time does it usually take for one become an honoured cadet?"
"Do you want to enroll there?"
"Yes"
'Seems like he saw my ID card and approached me. I should help him....though, why does he not know how to enroll...'
She looked at him again, this time paying close attention.
His attire was different. He many aliens regularly visit the place, different in attires was not uncommon, but he seemed human yet his clothes was difficult from any human supporting planets' clothing she knew.
Plus his ID seemed to be offline, just a transparent card at this point.
'Based on how anxiously he was tapping his foot, he must be in some kind of predicament. On a foreign planet alone with his only means of communication out of power. They really should explain about these things clearly upon landing, clearly he wasn't even told how to charge it. Helping him is fine but I'm tired now....'
" I am very busy right now so about we meet here again tomorrow. I will give all the information necessary. Come here at the same time"
'It'll also be a mini interview for him, if he passes I'll give him a recommendation.'
Saying this the lady left and walked in a quick speed. The man was dumbfounded how she just left without giving a proper reply...he was confused.
'He didn't chase behind me...his body language and facial expressions are somewhat easy to understand. Let's see what kind of new student we shall be having.
I hope he is upto the mark. Otherwise we have plenty of average cadets'
Avon was irritated at this point. This woman didn't help him at all. 'Why did she leave so abruptly? Now she seems suspicious, should I come here tomorrow.....well, no harm in doing so. Ah! I forgot to ask about the ID card! I must ask someone else'
Avon thought gathering information about the academy would be simple but it turned out that not the case. The ID that he was given and which could be used as a phone to an extent didn't provide details other than that on the official website which only gave information about certain things. Same with the guide tabs set up in the city. They didn't give clarity on the system on which the academy functioned. Plus soon the card ran out of power.
On asking people around Avon found out that there only one academy on the entire planet. Everyone was educated there. The statuses with which they graduated from the academy were what mattered a lot for their entire life. This had already shook Avon as now he had a long way to go to obtain the medallion piece.
It was already almost night and Avon decided to go back to the craft. He was very hungry and thirsty. He hadn't eaten anything because he had no money on him. Same for water. He decided to ask SteNav if there was any stash onbard. Then Avon proceeded to go the pod which led him back to the place where the craft was parked. To his surprise no one seemed to care about the craft parked and occupying space. In fact no one even cared to see when he entered it or left...but to the man in a rush, this didn't matter much.
Avon ate some of the food available and decided to call it a day. He was very tired exploring the huge city with so many unknown things. He decided to think about everything else after he woke up with a fresh mind.
