Chapter 13 - The Photograph That Changed Everything

Tuesday, 7:10 A.M.

Rosewood awakened beneath a sky painted with soft shades of gold and silver.

People hurried through the streets with steaming cups of coffee in one hand and their phones in the other.

For most, it was another ordinary Tuesday.

But for one photograph...

It was the beginning of countless questions.

Inside the headquarters of Steel Corporation, employees gathered around the digital news screen in the lobby before starting work.

One headline immediately caught everyone's attention.

"The Ice King Finally Smiles? Mystery Woman Captures Aaron Steel's Attention During Children's Charity Event."

Below the headline was a crystal-clear photograph.

Celina knelt beside the little prince from the pediatric ward, gently adjusting his paper crown.

Several feet away...

Aaron Steel stood silently watching her.

His expression remained calm.

Yet his eyes...

Were unmistakably fixed on her.

The image spread rapidly across news websites and social media.

Comments flooded in.

"Who is she?"

"I've never seen Mr. Steel look at anyone like that."

"Is she a doctor?"

"No... I heard she's just a cleaner."

"Impossible."

"Then why was he looking at her?"

On the top floor...

Aaron walked into his private office as if nothing unusual had happened.

Ethan Brooks followed closely behind, carrying the morning newspapers.

Without saying a word, he placed one on Aaron's desk.

Aaron glanced at the front page.

His eyes settled briefly on the photograph.

Then he calmly folded the newspaper shut.

"I assume Public Relations has seen this."

"Yes, sir."

"And?"

"They've already contacted several media outlets."

Aaron removed his suit jacket before speaking.

"There is no need."

Ethan blinked.

"Sir?"

"It's only a photograph."

"But the rumors—"

"They'll disappear."

Aaron picked up another document.

"Focus on today's board meeting."

"Yes, sir."

Ethan nodded.

But before turning to leave, he hesitated.

"There is... one more thing."

Aaron looked up.

"The reporters have started asking about the young woman."

Silence filled the office.

Aaron's gaze remained unreadable.

Finally...

"What is her name?"

Ethan glanced at his tablet.

"Celina Baker."

Aaron repeated the name quietly.

"...Celina."

For reasons he couldn't explain...

The name lingered in his mind.

Meanwhile...

Steel Medical Center was unusually noisy.

Every corridor buzzed with whispers.

Nurses huddled together during their break.

Doctors exchanged amused smiles.

Even the receptionists couldn't stop talking.

"Have you seen today's news?"

"I still can't believe it."

"They're saying Mr. Steel was staring at someone."

"I heard she's from our hospital."

"Who?"

Before anyone could answer—

Celina entered carrying a tray of fresh linens.

The conversation stopped instantly.

Everyone looked at her.

Celina frowned.

"...Did I interrupt something?"

Emily quickly forced a smile.

"N-No."

"You didn't."

Celina tilted her head slightly.

"Why is everyone looking at me?"

Emily opened her mouth...

Then closed it again.

She honestly didn't know how to explain.

A few minutes later...

Celina walked toward the staff lounge.

As she passed the notice board...

She froze.

Pinned to it was today's newspaper.

Right there...

On the front page...

Was the photograph.

Her own smiling face.

And behind her...

Aaron Steel.

Looking directly at her.

Her heartbeat skipped.

"What..."

She whispered.

"I don't remember this."

She reached out slowly.

Before her fingers touched the paper—

"Celina."

She turned.

It was Hospital Director James Walker.

His expression was calm.

But unusually serious.

"Mr. Walker?"

"Come with me."

His tone wasn't harsh.

Yet something about it made her stomach tighten.

As they walked toward the administration office...

Every pair of eyes followed them.

Celina lowered her head.

She had no idea...

That one innocent moment...

Had already begun changing her life.
