Chapter 47 - score cards

"Man, he's good. He must be in his final years of school and just transferred here or something." Damon thought, In which he learned his assumption was almost spot on.

The test took around 10 minutes. Afterwards, it was Damons turn. He felt weaker than ever watching the boy before him, but knew it was a process.

Getting stronger didn't just happen over night so he decided whatever happened it would be ok with him, especially since he received the system.

The same metal plate sprung up. Positioning himself low he generated and shaped a cloud ball in his palms like before against Taylen.

"There it is again. He's holding something within his fist like before. Is his ability more than just rain." Issac thought.

Last time Damon used a small ball of clouds closed within his fist after finding out its fluffy exterior changed into a solid one after shaping it.

Unbeknowest to him Issac had seen his little trick.

It had made a big difference with his strikes against Taylen so he was thinking it would help.

When the lights flashed green he moved forward and swung as hard as he could. The target lights lit up six times and all the judges held up their scores. 6,6,7,7,6.

The next round was for him to dodge the energy blast from the plasma guns in the walls. Watching the pattern of the shots from the boy before he knew he couldn't dodge them all.

This time he made two cloudballs for each fist. As the light flashed green he dodged multiple shots while also punching away the others. A couple of the judges smiled while some had raised eyebrows.

The second round was over and two of the judges stood up.

"Mr. Blade. Why did you deflect some of them and not dodge."

"Well, it's because I was too slow. So I figured if I couldn't dodge all of them I should at least deflect them. It's better than getting hit in a vulnerable area right."

Both judges looked at eachother and smiled while holding up 8,8. The other three votes were all 5,5,5. Which didn't bother Damon none.

"Hmph. Just like someone that breaks the rules." Issac thought with a smirk.

"Ok Mr. Blade. You have decent strength and decision making with calculating combative circumstaces but we are well aware of your.....shall I say flawed and lacking ability. It's time you show it to us." One of the judges said. It was one of them that scored him a 5 on the last test and it was also the one named Mr. Bell.

Damon looked at the ceiling for a moment. He couldn't use his rain. It would only make it rain from the outside.

He didn't want to show that he could manipulate clouds. He wanted to keep it as his trump card since it was the only real decent attack he had when it came to his powers.

Damon lifted up his arms as heavy rain began to fall.

The judges looked up hearing thousands, if not millions of hard thumps hitting the roof. Damon closed his eyes and continued to concentrate. A few seconds passed and the three judges from before held up a score card of zero.

Opening his eyes and seeing the score cards, he smirked a little.

"Screw it." He thought.

Suddenly two thick fluffy clouds appeared above each hand, the judges had looks of confusion and bewilderment as Damon smile got wider.

The clouds turned and shaped into balls releasing a pulsating white glow.

"With cumulus cloud manipulation and control I can think it, and it will do it." He thought closing his eyes in concentration.

Opening his eyes the two balls of clouds formed into swords and shot forward creating a cloudy mist behind them hitting the target slab and dispersing into thin clouds that faded away.

All five judges stood up in awe, Issac stood there just as surprised as they were. The two judges who were more impressed with Damons earlier action gave him a score of 9,9. The three judges that were so quick to give him a zero just stood there speaking with eachother.

"Those were clouds, a damn cloud, out of all of my years living I've never seen such an ability. "

"You've never saw anyone make it rain either, but you three were so easily persuaded to give the young boy a zero score. All because of his reputation of having a weak ability."

"Although I don't know what his rain can do, it is still very unique and definitely unheard of. With my experience there is always something more than meets the eye with rarity. " One of the others judges said.

It was a tan colored woman with red hair and eyes. She wore black leather tights with a red corset top that hugged her waist and breasts perfectly.

"My judgement still stands. It took him too long to even forge whatever he just did. In a battle you have to be quick and precise."

His white ruffle hair and his casual suit type of attire along with his behavior told Damon he was just a prick or some know it all.

"Ha, spoken like a child without understanding Mr. Wall. His forging speed can improve, no wonder your guild is one of the struggling ones." The woman responded.

Another judge stepped in stating enough with the back and forth and to get on with the final test.

"Mr. Blade. There is a reason why we have allowed two people to test out together. Mr. Hughes you may return to floor to take your final test as well." Another male judge said with white long hair and golden colored eyes.

If it wasn't for his voice he could be mistaken for a woman as his body was thin and facial structure was very pretty and hairless.

Damon eyes drifted towards Issac wondering if it was something else besides what Issac told him. He hoped he didn't have to fight the kid from earlier as he was sure it would be difficult.

"As of today you two will be the first to take a certain test. However, everyone else in the academy will take it at a much later scheduled date."

The floor began shaking revealing a large oval ring the size of a door. It raised from the floor releasing steam as It began generating power. The next second a green portal was formed. The remaining instructors stood up and walked over to them discussing a few things.

"This is a world gate similar to the ones that are used when beasts from other world's invade our lands. The only difference is beast gates are natural, made by the planet itself. Their are many portals in different colors. The color of the portal reflects the difficulty level of beasts that harbors within a certain plain."

"Green is guaranteed to harbor only weak level monsters on the low maturity scale. You two are to work together and locate a beacon we have placed there."

"This is Fang. He will accompany you,but only for emergency reasons. He will not help you in any way except for life and death situations. All choices will be yours and he's to grade you by all of your actions in the field."

A slinder boy with a black face covering walked from the man's side. He had pale skin and wore dark blue leather armor with a light blue hooded cloak. His entire head was covered and nothing could be seen but his crystal blue eyes.

"He's a graduate of the academy and this is also a test for him to gain favor with a guild he wants to join. "

A giant shipping container shaped room raised from the floor and inside were sleeping bags, tents and other accessories along with a day worth of food and water.

There were several daggers, a sword, bow and arrow kit and a few axes. Looking around Damon couldn't believe what was happening. He thought they weren't allowed to leave the city, but now he was being thrown into a whole other world. It didn't make sense.

"You both have 5 minutes to say your farewells to your family. Well that's if you have one." Said the man with slick blue hair cutting his eyes at Damon.

Damon twisted his lips in annoyance as he ignored the remark. He was trying to decide what weapons to get. He thought about the sword, but thinking about how horrible he handled Gavin's sword against the dog like beast made him hesitant.

"I would go for the short handled twin tomahawks if I were you. Those take less skill to use and I think they would be better for a brawler like you." Said Issac practically appearing behind him.

Damon took his advice. The twin tomahawks came with a back holster as well in which he put it on right away. He also grabbed three daggers and a ton of light orbs.

"Did you bring the armor I sent to you as well?."

"Yes."

"Well put it on already, you're going through a portal that'll take you to another plain full of beasts, school uniforms won't do."

Damon took in a deep breath as he was beginning to feel nervous. Like any other time he did his best to ignore the feeling and pushed it away.

He mentally opened his cloud storage and chose the leather armor. The academy uniform disappeared as a thin cloud covered him.

"It seems you have a few tricks as well with those clouds of yours." Spoke captain Issac.

"A few, I wish."

The judges called for them as their time was up. They stood in front of the portal not saying a word or even looking at eachother.

The boy called fang walked into the portal first and Damon and calvus followed. Seconds later waves and ripples began to reflect on the portal.

"What's happening is everything alright Bell." A seven foot man with a thick red beard asked approaching.

Bell took out a coms device contacting

a separate room full of monitors and controls with multiple people that had on lab coats.

" I'm not sure, I'm getting strange readings we haven't seen before."

Suddenly the portal ripples and waves increased. The color began changing into a mixture of colors as a loud ohm sound was heard.

The colors orange, green, red and a small blotch of purple was seen just before it expanded like someone blowing a bubble.

Alarms around the area was set off informing everyone to get back. Seconds later the bubble like portal burst and disappeared creating a gust of strong winds.
