??? POV
Silence...
"Arghhh, how long have I been in this damn void?!"
Not that I had any way of knowing, really. Time here? Yeah, doesn't exist. Which makes the waiting even worse.
Sigh "Isn't this the part where some god or ROB (Random Omnipotent Being) comes to grant me wishes or something?"
But no. Just me. Alone. Talking to myself like an idiot.
Honestly, this whole thing was a downer. Could be worse, though. I mean, at least it's not hell… right? Silver linings. My life before this wasn't worth bragging about anyway. Mediocre job, barely any friends, no girlfriend. Social life? Nonexistent.
The only memorable thing? My very intimate encounter with the infamous All Mighty Truck-kun!.
/Flashback/
"FUCK! That was my twentieth multi-summon and I still didn't pull shit!"
Sigh. "Whatever. I'll just go outside, clear my head before I chuck my phone through a window."
So, I went for a walk. Shoes on, headphones in, vibes low. Just your average day. Until it wasn't, then it happened.
"Hmm… wait, why is the truck suddenly coming toward me? Is anyone even inside? WAIT, NO! SHIT, SHIT, SHIT!"
I tried to move out of the way, but it was too late...
CRASH
Game over.
/Present/
Silence…
Sigh "When are they coming? I'm—"
"Hey! Sorry to keep you waiting."
I nearly jumped out of my non-existent skin. A voice just tore through the void like it owned the place.
Before I could even turn, the speaker went on, casual as if we were chatting over coffee. "I've been busy managing souls and all that. Anyway, how long have you been here?"
My mouth opened, but before I could answer, he tilted his head slightly, as if examining me under a microscope. "Hmm. Strange. This place should've destroyed your soul by now… Meh, must be one of those situations."
In front of me stood a pure white figure, without any distinct features. He reminded me of Kami Tenchi though, let's be real, anything being that's pure white looks like that.
"Oh… great. So, I'm in a soul-killing void? Totally fine. Totally not terrifying."
"I don't know... wait, where am I? Is it bad? And what do you mean, 'one of those situations'?" I asked, feeling a pit form in my stomach.
"Oh yeah, this place is bad," he said casually, like it was no big deal. "We're outside time, space, and basically everything else. It's the gap between what's real and what's not."Then, without missing a beat, he added, "Normally, souls get shredded in minutes. But the rare ones tough enough to stick around? They get special reincarnation treatment. Lucky you!"
Lucky me, huh?, How the heck did I even survive? Is it because I have a strong will? A special soul?
Wait is this guy a god?'
"No, I'm not God," he said flatly.
Did he just read my thoughts? Who am I kidding of course he did.
"Yes, I did read your thoughts. And what I am doesn't really matter right now. Let's get on with the reincarnation process, shall we?"
I sighed, already feeling mentally drained. "Fine. So how does this reincarnation thing work? Is it based on karma, spinning a wheel, or do I get to choose?"
"A mix of all three. You get to choose your powers based on karma, so you'll get three wishes nothing too overpowered, though. As for the world you'll go to, that will be decided by the good old Wheel of Fortune."
"That sucks… so I can't ask for anything too overpowered? Kinda limits the options, don't you think?" I muttered. Great. So basically a gacha system… except the prize pool is my entire existence.
"You can still ask for a system or something similar," the figure said. "Though not the sentient kind those fuckers are always 50/50. They can either be the best thing that ever happens to you or turn into the devil itself. It's a real hassle."
"Fine," I muttered. "I want [Unique Skill: Great Sage], the ability to copy any skills or abilities, and a non-sentient system."
He tapped his chin. "Hmm… you've got slightly above-average karma. Fair enough. Your second wish gets nerfed a bit, though. No one's letting you go around spamming God-tier hacks. Now, let's spin the wheel."
Out of nowhere, a giant wheel appeared. The figure spun it, and I saw familiar worlds like Naruto, Dragon Ball, Marvel, DC, and more. Finally, it stopped.
"Oh... a rare one, an anime-mixed world."
He seemed amused by the result. I just hoped it isn't anything too dangerous.off of stories it either can be a really wholesome or downright hell
"Well, it's time to send you off. I hope you have fun. Bye~," he said, waving nonchalantly.
Suddenly, everything started to get hazy, and then my consciousness cut off. Weird… it felt like he was looking at me strangely.
Unknown POV
{Seven years later}
Sigh. Seven years since my rebirth. Seven years old now. And here I am, slouching on my bed like some washed-up old man. Bored out of my mind.
Not that I should've expected much what's a kid supposed to do, take over the world before middle school?
but yeah I was slightly surprised when I found out who my new family is. The world is of modern age, unlike in the story. They are the MC's Terakomari's, or Komari for short parents from The Vexations of a Shut-In Vampire Princess, and I'm her older brother by two years.
In this life, my new name is Rudra Gandesblood. There are a few differences though like our mom didn't disappear on us, unlike in the story. Also, we're only half-vampire, from our mother's side, and human from our father's side. Komari still inherited the same busted ability from Mom.
I can still remember when she awakened it. My god… it was a massacre. And oh boy, when that power flared up? Total bloodbath. Even now, it sends a chill down my spine. Lucky for us, regeneration in this family is busted. Unlucky for me, though watching your baby sister nearly paint the walls red isn't exactly what I'd call wholesome family bonding.
"Great Sage, can you show me my stats?"

"Wait… do I just ask for missions?"
[{Negative}] "Missions are given through strong desire or by the system itself.]
"Seriously? Then why didn't you tell me?"
[You never asked.]
"Well, damn. Whatever. Past me's problem."
Sigh. "So, find something interesting, huh? Where do I even begin?" I muttered. "I guess I'll see if Ayano can accompany me out for a bit."
Speaking of her, I wonder how her family ended up working for us. Didn't her grandparents work for the Suou family? Wait, do they even exist here? I guess I'll ask…no that'll be strange I'll just search them up later.
"Cough... Ayano, are you there?" I called out, checking if she was around.
"Yes, Master. Do you need something?" she responded.
Ahh! How does she do that? Just appearing out of nowhere like that. "Oh… yeah, I was wondering if you could take me out for a bit. I need to look for... something."
"master do you feel well should I tell your family should we call a doc—"
deciding to stop her from going further "hey! stop that I'm fine, it's just feel like I need to go out for a bit look it's not a big deal ok."
"Okay, fine, young master, but we do need to inform your parents about this. You rarely go out on your own, unless someone makes you," Ayano replied solemnly.
"Yeah yeah fine they're always on my case about it 'you need to go out more often make some friends, and, stop influencing your sister she's becoming just like you from all your spoiling'.I replied exaggerated
rudra started to head down until he bumped into Komari "brother want are you doing here with ayano, aren't you usually napping by now.''komari asked confused
"Oh, I just need to go out for a bit nothing special."
"What!,what do you mean you need to go out for a bit. Are you ok?, Mom! Dad! something is wrong with rudra." komari yelled running down worried
'I know I don't like going out, but come on, isn't this a bit much? Maybe I should go out more. It'll be a pain if they freak out every time I do… sigh I need a nap.'
