As the training was going on in full force, the guild was rapidly gaining strength that rivalled or even surpassed many S-rank wizards in the outside world.
Karna was not surprised because the standards set by Fairy Tail when it comes to being S-rank are higher than those of the other guilds in Fiore. Most of the A-rankers in Fairy Tail would have already qualified as S-rank wizards in other guilds. The only reason they were not promoted was because Makarov wanted them to be their strongest version before they took up the mantle of S-class.
But with the improvements made by the team within a few months, Makarov has decided that they all qualify to be considered S-class wizards according to Fairy Tail standards. Now all that is left is to return to the guild and make them do promotion exams, i.e., to make them complete an S-class quest all on their own.
While they were maturing physically and magically, there were also many emotional changes happening among the guild members.
Being trapped on the island for a whole year brought many changes in the interpersonal relationships between them.
Karna got even closer with Ultear and Cana while they were training. Elfman and Evergreen were training together for some time, and they got closer like in canon, but this time a bit more quickly.
There was no need to talk about Juvia and Gray. Because of the close-range practices they did to learn elementalization and increase their unison raid, both of them seemed to show some sparks for each other. It looks like Juvia will not have to work as much as in canon to get Gray's affection.
More interesting was the matter with Natsu. The idiot had no idea about romantic emotions, but he still managed to get the attention of a total of two girls in the current group. Lucy and Lisanna both seemed to show certain emotions toward him, and whether or not he chooses one of them is still debatable.
Though Happy did start a betting pool, with three options: Lucy, Lisanna, or both. Let's just say many were interested in knowing the outcome.
Karna also did not neglect creating training methods for the rest of the guild members.
Meredy had already reached a level in Emotion Magic where she could even influence multiple enemies into having animosity toward their own allies. During the Tenrou Island battle, she forced the enemy soldiers to attack each other by manipulating their distaste for one another and turning it into pure, cold-hearted hatred that made them kill each other. She actually inflicted the most casualties on the enemy's side.
So all Karna had to teach her was his mind-place technique and a few meditation techniques so that she could increase the capacity of her brain to read and handle multiple targets. If right now she is able to handle hundreds of targets, after the training she will be able to handle thousands without any trouble.
Then came the matter of the Exceeds. Karna had to diversify the teaching techniques for all three of them, considering that they had three different types of targets.
For Lily, Karna decided to train him so that he would have enough power and control to maintain his full Tiger Lily form for the entire day without any break. Plus, he was also planning on teaching him reinforcing magic so that his body could increase its toughness and strength.
For Carla, Karna knew she was going for the humanoid form transformation, which would increase the output of her magic as well as help her be more versatile when battling alongside Wendy. But Karna focused on the untapped potential within her—her ability to look into the future. Currently, her ability allowed her to see too far into the future. Plus, what she saw appeared in the form of fragments and did not have any definitive clues about what was going to happen. Carla, at the beginning, had believed it to be programming by the Exceeds. Later, during the Grand Magic Festival, she only got a few images in which Lucy was crying and the castle was destroyed. It never gave any definite or useful information at all.
So Karna decided to train that ability of hers to focus on the immediate future, like five or six seconds ahead, instead of days or hours into the future. He wanted her to use it similarly to Observation Haki so that she could get an upper hand in every battle she has in the future.
For Happy, the training was twofold. His speed rivals the fastest members of the guild, so Karna decided to teach him transformation magic that converts his body into a strong material that he can combine with his speed to create a battering ram. Plus, teaching him to transform his arms into blades also increased his lethality. Halfway through, he had a feeling it was a bad choice to teach this walking lunatic to be more dangerous, but I decided to leave that to future Karna to deal with.
The rest of the training went without any hitch. The Dragon Slayers themselves were able to feel the changes happening to them, so they knew it wouldn't be long before the effects of being transformed into sixth-generation Dragon Slayers showed themselves.
But the training time was over before they completed the last step.
That's right. Fairy Tail had completed their one-year training on Tenrou Island, reaching a level that might even surpass their canon selves in the final war. And now the only thing that is left is to remove the spell and go back to the world to see the changes that happened in the last seven years.
As for me, I currently had three hearts beating within my body, and I knew the next time I met Acnologia, the battle was going to be very different from the one we had before.
A/N – Hope you like it.
