Chapter 146 - Shinti

The game finished as Yamato had foreseen, with his victory through the move straight to goal card while Bronelli was left behind.

Yuki, noticing how distracted the woman was by her loss, calmly walked behind her and used the opportunity to grab her levitating hair by the end, and in a swift and elegant motion tied it around the woman's neck. Grabbing onto another end closer to the roots, it was effectively a thick rope. The woman began gasping for air, trying to pull her hair off her neck but Yuki's grip was like an unstoppable force, completely inevitable. Why was she doing this? And why in this manner particularly? It was simply because she had jot forgotten something. So her annoyance had been strong enough to strangle this woman the entire time, she simply wanted to make sure she would not slip away.

"Don't bother. Your hair is pretty strong, as I'm sure you of all people would know. Word of advice from me too… Don't go around putting your hair in other people's faces. It's too bad we don't always get to put the lessons our mistakes teach us to use in the future. In your case that can't happen because… You don't have one."

"P-please… Wai—… argh…"

"Dumbass djinn..."

"A djinn? As in, grant three wishes kind of djinn?"

"Yes, boo, that kind of djinn. Didn't I mention that?"

"No… But you barely had opportunities and it would be her job to introduce herself so I'll let it slide…"

"Yay~ Anyway, all the more reason to get rid of her, no?"

During their casual conversation, Yuki's grip loosened for just a moment, allowing the woman to gasp in air one more time, extending her life for another minute at best.

"Maybe, but it also changes things. And I have some wishes to make. Don't you?"

"Hmm… Could be dangerous though. You sure you want to take that chance, boo?"

"Yes."

"Fine. But I get to make my wishes first!"

"Fine."

"Do I get wishes too…?", Bronelli asked, thinking he should at least give it a shot.

"…No."

"Ah, well…"

"Whatever, fine. There you go."

Letting go of one end of the womans hair, though keeping a firm grip on the end of it like a leash, she dropped to her knees and coughed uncontrollably, until she finally stabilized.

"Ah… ah… What was that for…!?"

Yuki kicked her in the face, not even changing expression at kicking someone who was quite literally already down.

"Don't talk. You had your fun, and it cost much of our precious time. So you can begin by apologizing. Then you may introduce yourself."

"I was gonna grant you wishes anyway since you beat me, but now you can forget about— Ouch, stop!"

Yuki threw her in the air by her hair and kicked her on the spine with her heel. Though she was having fun to some extent, she would prefer if the woman just submitted to her already. However, she was perfectly fine continuing this for as long as it took.

"Still no talking. Just say yes or no."

"…"

"Good girl. Y'know, there would have been a version of this where you just helped us and then joined our group through your own volition. That'd be some fairy tale though. And you're really dangerous. So you should be thankful that I didn't go through with strangling you. Now then, three wishes for each, yes?"

"…No…"

"Excuse me?"

"It's three total… Those are the rules…"

"Not the rules I'm familiar with… Well, anyway. I wish for all life to disappear with the sole exception of Yamato and I."

"…I can't do that…!?"

"Yeah, I know. I was just kidding, obviously."

"Dumb bitch just grant my wish…"

"Well, even so, I will still clarify. I can't harm anyone directly, grant you more wishes, wishes must begin with "I wish", and the effects have limits. Like your wish just now did not just break the first rule, but I sense your wish also included beings like Gods to die, which I cannot do."

"Wasn't a serious wish anyway. Well, then I wish for all my seals to be lifted."

"I can't do that either…"

"Urgh."

"Your seals appear to be placed by a god, and as such are out of my reach."

"Fine. Sounds like you learn information abojt the wish in order to fulfill or deny it, hm? Interesting, right boo~? Anyway, then let me rephrase it like this… I wish the speed of the process with which I myself am able to lift the seals would be multiplied by a googolplex. I myself am already able to challenge the seal, and you merely affect time at best, which shouldn't be a problem then, yes?"

"…Shinti…"

"Excuse me? "

"It means your wish is granted…"

Sparkles and light surrounded Yuki, and she began freely moving through space as if gravity was nonexistent. In a silly gesture, she floated upside down towards Yamato, though as she locked eyes with him it was something more serious. Any and all seals which Yuki had been working on lifting since they arrived in this world had disappeared. It felt as though she had only now truly arrived here with him. Thus deserving him an upside down kiss, as well as the sight of a silly Yuki floating and goofing around the room. Yuki felt fully replenished and extremely comfortable, now that she could kill the woman no matter what at any moment.

"Boo, your turn!"

Feeling as though she should celebrate this moment more, Yamato focused more on his own wishes. By now Yuki had let go of the womans hair, so it was a but more comfortable for her.

"You still haven't introduced yourself."

"Why wait… Just wish to be as close to god or whatever… Isn't that what you want?"

"You are mistaken… I need no such wish, to reach godhood, nor do I need to hurt you."

"What do you wish for then?"

"I wish for every magic wish ever made from now on, directed at you or any other of your kind, to first have to be permitted by me directly, and give me the right to reject the wish."

"Uhm…Shinti…? That's a really weird wish…"

"Well, reality altering powers are dangerous. Naturally I want to make sure none affect me out of the blue. It's what I always wondered about stories involving you guys. In the end, all that is gained could be just as easily reversed through your wish granting abilities."

"I can't say I ever thought about it that way…"

"Anyhow, on to the last wish—"

Yamato was interrupted at the spinning Yuki bumping into his back, after she had floated back and forth for no reason until now.

"Wish to be immortal! No, stop don't do that, never mind. I wanna be the one that makes you immortal… Wish for every woman with bigger boobs than me to die!"

"Can't wish death upon anyone, boo… Just wish for everyone's breast to shrink until they are smaller than yours…"

"Can I?"

"No."

"Then why did you make my wish work in the first place…"

"Maybe I should wish for your obsession with chest size to go away…"

"Maybe I will just wish for you to share that obsession with me!"

"I'd prevent her from granting that wish…"

"Hmph!"

"Anyway… I wish to set you free."

The woman was confused and taken aback, both by their topic and Yamato's sudden wish.

"W-what? Why? But before that, Shinti, I guess…"

"Even if you trapped us here, and Yuki seems to really want you dead…"

Glancing at the pouting Yuki, he could not help but find her adorable despite talking about her violent intentions.

"…You still entertained me with your game. And the wishes you granted were incredibly useful, and definitely worth the change of plans for this evening."

"You do know that I still have powers, and just no longer grant wishes or am bound to the music box?"

"I was going to ask about the latter, but I'd hate to stretch this for longer than necessary, since I have a child to attend to. We will be off then."

Grabbing Yuki's hand, she was tugged along like a balloon, still upside down. Sticking her tongue out at the woman before turning her back, she counted this meeting as a total victory on their part, despite Yamato's unfortunate decision to permit the woman's survival.

"Wait… That's it?"

"Where you expecting something else? We got our wishes, Yuki can take the barrier down now, and I don't see any reason to stay here any longer."

"…Take us with you."

"Get lost, leash hair.", Yuki immediately replied.

"I'm serious! I'm still useful! I saw part of your memories, and I know the situation you are in right now! There is definitely something you could use me for!"

"Who's "us" anyway?"

"Bambini and I."

"Oh? I thought he was just… Actually I don't even know. But now I kinda wanna know. Boo, I'm fine with keeping her!"

"Earlier you were explicitly against that…"

"I changed my mind! Pretty please, I wanna keep her~?"

Yuki looked at him with big eyes, making Yamato unsure about what her intentions with the woman really were.

"Besides, isn't the Absolute Empire going to include everyone eventually? So what's the point in not letting her join now?"

"You could just as well argue that there's no rush since she's gonna be part of it eventually either way…"

"Why are you so against it? Love me!"

"I love you… I don't even know, I just already removed her mentally…"

Yuki poked his nose.

"Boop… Add her back then."

"Sigh…"

He glanced back at the woman, feeling pity for her more than anything. She seemed to not have much going on in her life, for her to run after him and Yuki. Especially considering what her experiences have been so far with them, he would have thought she would gladly keep her distance.

"What's your name anyway… And I don't know what you expect from us, but fine."

"Yay~, Love you, boo!"

After having gotten it her way as per usual, Yuki gave him a smooch, only to keep behaving like a balloon in his hand in any other way.

"I don't expect any favors, I promise. And my name is Aisha. I look forward to helping you the best I can."

This concluded their conversation, and one person seemed to have been completely misplaced in it. Bronelli, not sure how to participate in this kind of interaction, chose to observe and learn more about this emperor that had bested a djinn, and was constantly kissed by an angel. He had learned that Yamato, like Bronelli himself, seemed to care about his child a lot. As all parents should, obviously. Yet, that and the display of competence and wisdom Bronelli had seen today made him respect this man. It was hard to imagine his country was in danger because of him. Maybe it was even given an opportunity to prosper, through the arrival of such a neighbor? Either way, he found himself with an extremely high opinion of Yamato. Whether he would call him a god or divine, suddenly was no longer just a simple no.
