Chapter 71 - Chapter 71: The trial of the Chosen one. VI

All the wizards who were watching now understood clearly when they saw Harry Potter snap.

Who could bear hearing so many insults against their mother?

They knew casting the Killer Curse was wrong, but still, they understood when Harry raised his wand and killed the female Muggle.

The memories continued to unfold within the Pensieve.

With each new scene, the wizarding community present in the courtroom found itself grappling with a newfound understanding of Harry Potter's actions.

Many of them were asking the same question. If they were in the place of Harry, would they have been able to hold back?

Wasn't this supposed to be his family? How could the woman insult her own sister?

And finally, it happened.

The wizarding community watched in somber silence as the Pensieve showed Harry casting the Killing Curse on the Muggle woman, Petunia Dursley.

The wizards observed Harry killing Vernon Dursley, the father, next.

The scene continued. Harry was walking and taunting Dudley. Telling the boy to remember the time when he bullied Harry. Making him remember how much he enjoyed making Harry's life miserable.

Harry promised the boy not an easy death.

Then came the next Unforgivable Curse. The Cruciatus Curse.

The pensive showcase Dudley's raw pain. His loud agony was loud in the chamber. After the two Aurors entered, the Pensieve finally ended the playback.

The cloud got back into the pensive, and the chamber entered a complete silence.

The reactions from the wizards presented were completely different after this. The initial blame and condemnation directed at Harry had dissipated, replaced instead by a profound sense of grief and sadness.

There were so many things that they did not know. It was all thanks to Madam Amelia Bones that the trial had now taken a different turn.

Some members of the Wizengamot cast sympathetic glances toward Harry, recognizing the heavy burden he had borne throughout his young life. They understood now that his actions, though morally reprehensible, had been borne out of a lifetime of trauma and suffering.

At the same time, the wizards were looking at Dudley with resentment. Some did not find any sympathy for his dead parents, knowing how they thought about magic and about Lily.

The first to speak was Amelia.

"Ladies and gentlemen of the Wizengamot," she said, "what we have witnessed here today is undeniably tragic. Harry Potter's actions, while deplorable, were driven by a lifetime of abuse and suffering at the hands of his Muggle relatives."

She went on to recount the testimony provided by the Aurors who had apprehended Harry, emphasizing a crucial point. "When the Aurors arrived at the scene, at no point did Harry Potter use the Unforgivable Curses against them. Instead, he pleaded for mercy and questioned why they had not intervened sooner."

Amelia continued as he pointed towards Rufus Scrimgeour, "I have the documents here written by the head of Auror, Mr Rufus Scrimgeour, who was there that day and who arrested Harry Potter. In here, he mentioned that Harry did not try to fight them but surrendered, and after that, Harry asked them about something. These are the following words of Harry Potter:

~Where was the Ministry's justice when I was tortured in my childhood? Now you come running when something bad happens to these Muggles. Where was the justice when I needed protection from those same Muggles? I needed help. I needed someone to protect me from the abuses I suffered. But no one came. No one cared. Now, suddenly, justice matters when it's about a few Muggles.~

Many of the wizards present felt shame. They had let down one of their own. Here they were, protecting the Muggle that has caused so much harm to their fellow wizard.

In the midst of the unrest, a lone voice rose. It was a wizard from the back of the chamber, his voice trembling with anger and indignation.

"The Muggle boy must pay for what he's done!" he exclaimed.

His outburst ignited a firestorm of emotions among the assembled witches and wizards. They all began to shout, agreeing with him.

"PUNISH HIM"

"HOW DARE THEY INSULT OUR WIZARD?"

"Enough!" shouted Cornelius Fudge, trying to appease the crowd. "Order in the court!"

But his command fell on deaf ears as the members of the Wizengamot continued to shout and argue amongst themselves. The tension in the chamber reached a boiling point, with emotions running high and tempers flaring.

"Dudley Dursley should be held accountable for his part in this tragedy!" cried one of the witches.

Some of the witches and wizards directed their anger towards Dudley Dursley, blaming him for his role in provoking Harry's violent outburst. They viewed him as complicit in the years of abuse suffered by Harry and saw his actions as deserving of punishment.

Dudley, standing at the witness stand, felt the pressure of all those cries. He was terrified. Were they going to punish him?

Amidst it all, Harry Potter stood silently in his cage, a hidden smile on his face.

"So that's what Voldemort wants to achieve. To raise a seed of hatred and anger toward the Muggles and make them see how they have wrongly treated me."

Listening to the heated exchanges and passionate arguments around him, Harry couldn't help but feel a sense of retribution. For years, he had endured the abuse and neglect inflicted upon him by the Dursleys, longing for someone to recognize his suffering and offer him solace.

"Thanks, Voldemort. You are the only one who has truly given me justice and shown the world how much the muggles had tortured me. I will be your loyal servant and clean the world of the disease known as Muggle." Harry vowed silently as he prepared for the path that he and Voldemort were going to walk on.

Then, it was only when Cornelius Fudge raised his wand, casting a powerful Silencing Charm, that the room fell into an uneasy silence once more. The heated debate had been quelled, at least for the moment.
