[Days later]
Lucia cried as I rocked her. Her little hands gripped my finger.
Kina bounced, holding her plushie up. "Leona! Lion! Rawr! Protect little sis!"
I sighed. "Kina, stop being silly. You're scaring the baby."
She pouted. "No, I'm not. I'm making her laugh."
Lucia blinked and looked at the plushie with confusion. She did not laugh.
I chuckled and shook my head. "It's okay, Kina. Let her be."
Kira smiled as she watched us from the couch.
Eijiro frowned. "Silly lion dance worked on Kina when she was a baby."
Kina giggled. "I like lions! They're strong!"
She was right. Lions were strong and noble creatures. But they also needed rest. Like my poor wife.
"Go play with your brother, Kina. You can hold Lucia later," I said, patting her head. "Dada is gonna feed Lucia now. You and Eijiro can go play knights."
Kina nodded and ran off with her brother.
I smiled at Kira, who looked tired but happy. She was still recovering from the birth, but she was doing well.
