Chapter 725 - Chapter 722 Understood

Splash, splash…

The large ship rode the wind and broke the waves; the vessel transporting goods from the Sahara slowly approached the port of Sedona City.

Perry and Sally stood at the bow of the ship, staring blankly at the densely packed port before them. There were ships everywhere, along with countless people transporting goods.

"Aren't there way too many ships?" Sally exclaimed in astonishment. She thought of the mere two or three ships at their tribe's port... and compared it to the hundreds of ships here. Was there even a comparison?

No, absolutely none. The pride she had initially brought with her was completely shattered; their tribe felt like a small countryside village.

"It really is bustling here," Perry sighed with emotion, recalling that even the Valtoria Capital didn't seem this prosperous.

The quality of a city could be judged to some extent simply by the number of ships docked at its port.

"Lower the sails! Lower the sails!!!"

"Drop the anchor!"

With the skilled operations of the sailors, the cargo ship docked smoothly.

"You two esteemed guests may disembark now," The captain said politely.

"Alright, let's go down." Perry nodded, disembarking lightly with Sally, without anyone else accompanying them.

She had found out clearly back at the tribe that to enter Sedona City, one could not bring weapons or too many troops. So, she simply brought Sally, the two of them traveling light.

"There really are a lot of people." Sally followed closely beside Perry.

"The weather is really hot. Let's hurry," Perry, wearing animal skin boots, felt her feet completely soaked in sweat.

Clatter, clatter...

Guided by the staff, Perry and Sally completed customs clearance and boarded a carriage heading into Sedona City.

"Your Highness, do you think Lucas will agree to our request?" Sally asked curiously.

"I don't know," Perry shook her head. The tribe's people had been continuously draining away. She felt that guiding them was better than blocking them, hoping to use other methods to retain the population. This was also the reason she had come to Sedona City.

She wanted to understand Sedona City first, and then copy some of its methods back in the tribe to keep those who wanted to leave.

The beastkin tribe was developing faster and faster. Their pasture territory was still expanding, and the sheep, horses, and cattle all required many hands to watch over them. Furthermore, they needed a large number of knights for guarding and patrolling.

Coming to Sedona City this time, apart from the population issue, Perry had another very important matter: she wanted to buy weapons.

As the pasture territory grew larger, many beastkin knights didn't even have a single blade; they were still using wooden clubs.

Iron weapons were one of the most vital resources for any faction. Perry really didn't have much confidence that she could convince Lucas to sell iron weapons to her.

"If he doesn't agree, are we going to cooperate with that Greena?" Sally frowned.

The Second Prince of the Siacan Kingdom, Greena, had been trying to rope them in recently, wanting to buy the tribe's warhorses in exchange for iron weapons. Perry had ultimately rejected him.

"We'll talk about it later." Perry rubbed her temples. She didn't really want to cooperate with Greena; he wanted warhorses, and in massive quantities, which made her very hesitant.

Moreover, her primary trading partner was Lucas; everyone else had to take a back seat. After all, it was Lucas who had helped them during their most difficult times.

"Your Highness, if this continues, we won't be able to protect those sheep and cattle," Sally sighed.

A larger pasture meant more problems, especially with their neighbors glaring at them covetously. This forced them to be on guard.

"Their demands are too excessive. They want two thousand warhorses. That's more than two-thirds of the warhorses we have. Even if we exchange them for weapons, without warhorses, we'll just be driven around by others," Perry said in frustration.

The two most important things for a knight were weapons and warhorses; neither could be lacked, but warhorses were far more precious than weapons.

"To think they actually want two thousand warhorses," Sally gnashed her teeth. This was her first time hearing this number; no wonder Her Highness had rushed to Sedona City so anxiously.

Perry gazed quietly out the window. She knew Greena had been plotting against the pasture for a long time. Intelligence indicated that he was actively buying off troops and preparing to fight the First Prince for the throne.

This time, she also wanted to expand the number of beastkin knights and accumulate enough strength to conquer the entire Sahara within a few years.

Clatter, clatter...

"This carriage is really nice. Four wheels and it runs so steadily," Sally's attention was drawn to the carriage.

"We can just make one ourselves when we get back to the prairie," Perry said nonchalantly.

"That's true," Sally's eyes lit up.

"You two esteemed guests, we have arrived at Sedona City," The coachman called out, curling his lips. Were four-wheeled carriages really that easy to make?

"We're here? So fast?" Sally asked in surprise. She hadn't felt any bumps at all.

"Let's go down and prepare to visit Lucas." Perry stepped out of the carriage. She looked up and scanned her surroundings, her eyes widening in stunned disbelief.

"So many people!" Sally exclaimed, her monkey tail curling up.

"So that's how it is..." Perry smiled bitterly. She understood completely now.

Clean and broad roads lined with numerous planted trees, and a constant stream of people entering and exiting the shops. Compared to the backwardness and dilapidation of the tribe, Perry finally understood why those beastkin were coming to Sedona City.
