Chapter 7
Next day at school.
Kai arrived in a sleek car, driven by his personal driver.
"Pick me up at 3 PM," he said before stepping out.
"Yes, sir."
As soon as Kai entered the school grounds, heads turned.
Just like always, he became the center of attention.
In the classroom
"Hey, guys," Kai said as he walked up to Felix, Chris, and a girl sitting beside them.
"Hey, mate," Chris said, stretching out his hand for a handshake.
Kai ignored it.
Chris sighed.
"Right… I forgot you don't shake hands."
Kai didn't respond.
"So, what are you guys up to?" he asked casually.
"Nothing much. Just chilling before class starts," Felix replied.
Kai nodded, then turned to the girl.
"And you are?"
"Bibliophile."
Kai frowned slightly.
"Bib… what?"
"Bibliophile. Phile for short."
"Oh. Okay. I'm Kai."
Phile smiled.
"Did you know your name has multiple meanings across different cultures? In Hawaiian, it means 'sea.' In Japanese, it means 'shell.' In European roots, it can mean 'warrior.' It also has meanings like 'keeper of the keys' in some cultures—"
"Wait," Kai cut in. "Are you seriously giving me a full history lesson on my own name?"
"Yes," she replied calmly. "I assumed you didn't know."
"Well… I didn't. And I don't want to."
There was a brief silence.
Kai smirked slightly.
"What was your name again?"
"Bibliophile."
"That means 'lover of books,' right?"
"Yes."
"I see."
Another silence.
Kai broke it again.
"So… that girl, Asha. Who is she?"
Chris looked at him in disbelief.
"Asha Kings? You don't know her?"
"I guess not."
"Man, how do you not know Asha? She's one of the most popular students in this school—and she's from a very powerful background."
"Really?" Kai asked, slightly amused.
"Of course. Anyone who isn't living under a rock knows about The Beautiful Five."
"Under a rock?" Kai repeated with a frown.
Chris ignored him and continued.
"First, Alexandra Hales. Party lovers know her very well. She's the only daughter of the Hales family—rich, influential, and bold. Her family owns the biggest entertainment venues and event spaces in Australia. Honestly, anyone would dream of meeting her."
He paused briefly.
"But I doubt anyone will see her again anytime soon."
"Why not?" Kai asked.
"That's a story for another day."
Chris continued.
"Second is Ae Ri Miller. She's the heir to the Miller brand—the biggest fashion house in Australia. She's also a model and brand ambassador. She became the youngest Australian model to sign deals with Nike, H&M, and Calvin Klein at just 18."
"Wow," Kai said softly. "Impressive."
"I know, right? Our school is full of gems."
He smiled.
"Third is Vanessa Collins. Honestly, she's everyone's favorite. Her family owns one of the biggest healthcare groups in Australia. And she's known for helping people—building homes for orphans, the homeless, and widows. She's probably the kindest among them."
Kai nodded thoughtfully.
"I'd like to meet her someday."
Felix stepped in.
"Next is Aarina. Her mother owns a luxury brand that supplies high-end accessories to celebrities and government officials. She's also known for her looks—very photogenic."
He shrugged slightly.
"Not much is known about her father, though."
Chris took over again.
"And lastly… Asha Kings. Her family is very secretive, but everyone knows the Kings are powerful. They own the Kings Entity Group and hold 79% shares in the Willows Group—the number one real estate company in Australia."
Kai leaned back slightly, processing everything.
"Personally, Asha is my favorite," Phile said with a soft smile. "She's kind and caring."
"Vanessa is better," Chris argued immediately.
"No, Asha is."
"Vanessa—"
"It doesn't matter," Felix cut in. "They're all amazing. That's what matters. They're a team."
Chris leaned forward.
"Speaking of teams… why don't we form our own group? Like a club. The Genius Boys."
He looked at Kai expectantly.
"What do you think?"
Kai stared at him blankly.
"That name is as lame as the idea."
Chris blinked.
"Come on, mate. It'll be fun."
"No. I don't want to be in any team."
"But I do."
"Then go form a team with yourself," Kai said coldly. "Leave me out of it."
He stood up and walked out of the classroom.
Chris stared after him.
"…Man. That guy is rude."
Felix just sighed.
