As grey and karma headed to the center of the mess, elder oaks was still holding off many foxes mainly by himself there were others but unfortunately no bunny was his equal in terms of power level or lethality.
The foxes however were strong even if most of them didn't awaken they were still predators. Natural born hunters and killers, And the fox tribe were one that excelled in assassination.
When grey and karma left to get more help most of the guards were killed at the entrances or in the initial sneak attack dealing a great blow to the rabbit's defensive forces.
Elder Oaks was fighting them off while hopping on walls and ceilings leaving behind sticky webs and pits of poison left in his wake. He had slain about 15 foxes before two seemingly leaders appeared one was an all-red fox and the other was just a scruffy dark orange.
Elder oak noticed them a while ago, the red one didn't really attack much just stood by and watched. The scruffy one however was ordering the others around and therefore needed to be eliminated.
He covered himself in a brownish exoskeleton with four reinforced spider limbs from his back and charged forward.
The boss fox seeing the desperate rabbit snickered loudly. Before releasing a wave of fire causing a massive explosion echoing throughout the underground city as he released his power in full.
Behind the scenes daisy was healing the wounded and protecting the survivors however most if not all exits were blocked so everyone somehow found themselves grouping up in the stone schoolhouse.
There were plant guarding the outside shooting out thorns while she healed the ones inside.
She even had the young and healthy ones dig a hole to the outside. Since she wasn't really suited to melee combat and she looked so drained as if she would drop at any moment but yet she held on.
Some of the older rabbits after talking in the corner for a while tensed up. The all nodded to each other then started heading to the front entrance of the stone buildings door blocked by books.
"STOP! Don't go outside you'll let all the foxes inside." Daisy said while blocking the door with vines and a face that showed she wouldn't give up easily despite being drained.
The eldest looking one of the 19 elderly rabbits looked back at her while stroking his white braided beard. In wise and experienced voice said.
"Young lady please move aside; we all knew our time was near and we are not afraid to face it. This way us retired knights and guards can go out in a way that matters... Plus there is already 5 outside."
The female brown rabbit that was handing out the awakening seeds earlier then spoke up in an elegant tone. " Indeed, we have all agreed on this too, we still got some fight left in us Unlike you, all your energy has nearly been spent healing the wounded and defending the building. Don't worry about us just finish the tunnel out so they can escape." blitz said seriously she was obviously the youngest in the group but was still ready to die for the next generation like any adult.
As all 19 got near the door the one with a beard used his rune as an axe formed in his little paws.
"A weapon rune that's really uncommon but more common than beast runes like elder oaks." Daisy stated in a daze
He suddenly slashed through all the items blocking his path then the door slowly exiting through entrance and smoke making an entrance that startled the foxes for a few seconds.
"It's a shame I left my shades and leather jacket at home " as he said red lines appeared on the right side of his body while pulsing with energy. Making him look like a berserk Norse warrior descended upon him.
he then took a slow but deep breath before screaming at the top of his lung to get everyone's attention "MY NAME IS BO THE WARRIOR FEAR ME! OR ELSE!"
The others all had summoned water, air or earth the basic elements for rabbits. Except the brown rabbit she summoned a worm spirit making her body almost fluid and slimy.
The now worm rabbit bounced like a rubber ball attacking one while the axe wielding one charged towards them as well these two leading the attack.
4 of them stayed back to defend the building that now had no door. As earth spikes rose all around the building and doorway to block any that dare come.
The foxes seeing they had all awakened caused the two non-awakened foxes to stop for a few seconds and the other three to activate theirs, two of them burst into flames and the middle one seemed to turn invisible.
As they clashed powers a few rabbits fell in the jaws of the physically superior foxes the fight seemed to last forever but in reality, only five minutes had passed
For many rabbits it took five or eight to take one down only certain rabbits were able to take them on alone. Let alone in mass elder oaks was just a special case.
The two powerless foxes were the first ones to fall but not without taking three rabbits with them.
"Miss blitz take care of the one that disappeared." Bo the warrior said as he was locked in a harsh battle with one flame foxes.
The Casualties they had taken from the other awakened one was seven which left just her, Bo and the four guards at the entrance, the other rabbits seemed to have been killed by the invisible fox.
Unfortunately, when she looked back at the entrance three of them were really wounded while the last one was guarding the entrance with earth spikes as one of his now missing ears were bleeding out with a fox towing over him veiled in some kind of mist that made half his body seem transparent.
Blitz bounced to where the entrance and extended her leg to double her height before rapidly stomping the foxes head into one of the nearby spikes. He didn't move after that, so she assumed he was dead.
Karma and grey arrived near the center of the burrow, but what they saw made them stop.
There was the sight of fox and rabbit corpses littering the once vibrant underground village the stench enough for karma to cover his snout in pure disgust.
Grey on the other hand seemed to enjoy the scent of blood and chaos in the air for some reason beyond him. they both soon focused on the massive battle with elder oaks on the defensive.
Elder oaks white fur was now bloodied and scorched. His once elegant mustache was now burnt off along with other patches of fur, His brown exoskeleton covering his body like an armor was shattered in certain areas, his four spider limbs from his was now just one and a half.
The fox leader on the other hand only had a few scratches while he was snickering menacingly.
