Darla currently felt incredibly stifled. In her long life, after she became the Sect Master, Darla never found anyone who wouldn't be at least somewhat cautious of her strength. She was not the strongest, but she was strong enough that other top powerhouses were reluctant to challenge her authority for small matters.
However, now, standing in the middle of hundreds of top powerhouses, a single dragon woman stood calmly, her dress fluttering with the passing wind. The straight long black hair waved calmly, and her gaze, even after killing people Darla herself would find troublesome, looked at ease and casual.
'Why?'
She was incredibly bitter.
'Why is Evelyn's wife so strong?'
Still, as she asked this question, Darla came to a realization. 'No… It is the other way around. Because her wife is this strong, Evelyn dared to do what she did. She was not reckless or greedy; she was measured.'
Seeing that Yasenia was still looking at her while the individuals from those three sects stood stiff, their eyes shifty, Darla finally brought herself to speak as the main spokesperson in the group. "There is no need to be so ruthless. Those people at the sect are innocent."
Yasenia looked at her with indifferent eyes. "Innocent? That word is certainly weighty, isn't it?"
Darla's heart thumped, but Yasenia continued. "Were those people you killed while getting stronger all guilty, Sect Master Darla?"
Even if Yasenia didn't know who Darla had killed, to stand at the top of the world, everyone present had stomped over mountains of corpses. Innocent, guilty, demonic, righteous, all who are here, without a doubt, have killed.
"You are strong enough to judge only those who wrong you. You are not helpless or cornered. You don't need to kill everyone."
Darla tried to argue, but Yasenia tilted her head. "Were you forgiving towards those who wronged you while you were still weak, Sect Master Darla?"
Once more, Darla was left speechless. All those who had offended her before her ascent had, naturally, paid their debts in blood. Powers, families, clans, sects… Darla had snuffed out the light of more than one of each.
Yasenia smiled. "The first person I killed is part of a half-Dual Cultivation sect. The crimes of those there are obvious to all. The second one I killed was an assassin. I refuse to believe that they don't have some sort of organization that takes payments for indiscriminate killings. The third person I killed acted arrogantly and vainly. Clearly, they are quite an overbearing sect."
Every word struck true, and, of course, they did. Yasenia had traveled her whole life, barely settling down for over one and a half centuries. She might not be as long-lived as those present, and she might not have their amount of experiences, but she was a perceptive woman.
Her sharp senses, combined with her dragon nature, allowed Yasenia to see a bit more about each person, more so when those people were weaker and couldn't resist her scrutiny. The three people she had killed all had thick killing intent and resentment in them.
It was not that Yasenia targeted them on purpose, though. The thing was that, among those present, hitting a person with those two qualities would be as easy as grabbing sand blindfolded on a beach.
Darla sighed, and that sigh made the people remaining from those three sects feel a chill. "S-Sect Master Darla! You can't allow this demonic creature to do as she pleases!"
"Sect Master Darla! She is a catastrophe! You must not have your judgment and clear, righteous heart swayed by her words!"
Escape? They had thought of it. However, as soon as any of them made an attempt, they were locked on by those 300 maids standing at a distance. Their experience told them that, if they dared to escape, they would forfeit their lives instantly.
So, until now, they had been pinning their hopes on Darla convincing Yaseinia.
Clearly, the discussion failed.
Darla looked at Evelyn's calm violet eyes and spoke. "Will you allow your wife to do something so ruthless, Evelyn?"
Evelyn looked at Darla and smiled. "Ruthless? Did you think it was too ruthless to send the entire righteous faction to persecute me for stealing one treasure?"
"That's our top treasure! Without it, we will fall into a disadvantage against the Demonic sects!"
"So what?" Evelyn asked, ignoring Darla's slightly agitated emotions. "Sect Master Darla, the fact that losing one treasure is enough for a whole faction to collapse doesn't show how important that treasure is…" Her tone turned cold. "It shows how rotten the innards of such a faction truly are."
Darla's voice got stuck at the back of her throat. Evelyn didn't care and exposed all of them ruthlessly. "I have been to several worlds, and the righteous factions usually keep an advantage against demonic cultivators for one very simple reason. Demonic cultivators, while they rise fast, need evil methods that affect their foundation and also attract hatred."
She paused, sighing and shaking her head. "Therefore, demonic cultivators will always be at a disadvantage. Of 1000 cultivators, 900 will join righteous factions. This is the inherent advantage of the… good side. It should be, otherwise, the world would fall into chaos. And yet…"
She didn't continue, but everyone present could understand the rest without Evelyn spelling it out for them. Yasenia nodded with a touch of approval and pride. Evelyn had always been clever, so she was not surprised that she could guess how brittle the righteous side in this world was.
From the outside, it looked like a resplendent castle. Sadly, termites have invaded every wood beam, and the castle was only supported by the single stone pillar: The thunder crown.
Without the crown, everything began creaking and showing the now obvious signs of decadence.
Yasenia, with everything now clear, spoke lightly. "Kill those people of that sect here. We'll visit them one by one."
The 300 maids moved at a speed beyond the top powerhouses of this world, slicing every single person from those sects into ribbons. It took less than a second for several top powerhouses to disappear.
Yasenia flew toward Darla and looked at her. Darla tensed up, but she didn't move.
"Guide me."
"Huh?"
Yasenia spoke again. "Guide me. I will let you witness their end as the righteous side's leader. I want you to understand that, if you want to take revenge, the strength you need is far beyond you. That way, I can avoid more bugs from buzzing around me."
After speaking, Yasenia turned around and flew toward her group, opening her arms to pick up Angel and give her soft cheek a kiss. Yasenia's cold look instantly softened as her tail gently wagged. "Hm~, as expected, having my baby in my arms is the best."
Angel smiled sweetly, her arms going around Yasenia's neck as their bosoms pressed tightly together. Evelyn looked and immediately drooled. "Heavens, I almost forgot that I will be able to be blessed with this sight daily after reuniting."
Andrea lightly smacked the back of Evelyn's head with a laugh. "Let's go."
Evelyn looked up, her gaze lingering on Andrea's large bosom as well. She sighed. "You usually attract attention for your athletic body, but girl, you really pack a punch."
Andrea was not ashamed and even raised her eyebrow, her light green eyes teasing. "What, do you want me to carry you as Yasenia does with Angel?"
Evelyn immediately gulped. "Better not. I might awaken something strange otherwise."
"Dear, Darling."
Both of them looked over, and then they stiffened. Yasenia's seductive golden eyes were looking at them in such a manner that they almost howled.
"Come with me?"
Both women disappeared and reappeared on Yasenia's left and right.
Andrea smiled. "Right away, love."
Evelyn nodded quickly. "Of course! Whoever stops me from coming with you will be impaled by my spear!"
Yasenia's lips arched secretly. Her girls could tease each other. However, they needed to understand who held the true leash around them. Still smiling, she blinked and looked at Evelyn. "What spear?"
Evelyn smiled like a lewd old man. "Hehehehe."
Darla looked at their interaction with a sense of surrealism. 'Is this the same overbearing dragon that can erase lives without blinking?'
Their group set off while Darla silently observed them. She was not the only one following, as many other top powerhouses decided to silently follow. Yasenia didn't stop them. After all, while these people had persecuted Evelyn, her Dear decided to pardon them.
So, she wanted to warn them using the simplest method.
Yasenia's group soon arrived at the Thunder Wave sect. The sect was placed in a peculiar location. It was a large mountain surrounded by sea and with thunderclouds in the sky.
This island-mountain was enormous, reaching over 50 kilometers in height. Moreover, around the island-mountain, several small patches of land with houses and the like spread out, creating a livable area even amid the high waves.
Darla and the rest imagined themselves destroying this area, and they thought of attacking from the front and sweeping slowly inward. Of course, they knew that their strengths were not high enough to breach through the giant protective formation enveloping the main mountain.
Yasenia didn't do that.
They all saw Yasenia setting down Angel and soaring skyward beyond the clouds. Then, every single creature felt a terrifying presence manifest beyond the clouds.
ROAAARRR!!!
Blue light swallowed the sky, and from beyond the clouds, a dragon who dwarfed the already enormous mountain descended. Her legs, each almost as tall as the mountain itself, landed on the water and created gigantic tsunamis that swallowed all the small houses.
Darla and the rest instantly became pale as they looked up, only to see Yasenia extend her wings.
In an instant, her wings covered the firmament as if a curtain extended, the luminous Sun and Moon in her wings manifesting in the sky.
Then, while the Thunder Wave sect activated their defensive formations, they saw the enormous dragon open her mountain-swallowing maw wide, a single chant echoing across Heaven.
"[Celestial Dragon Breath]."
A laser connected the back of Yasenia's throat with the mountain, and in the next second, the world turned blue-white. The breath of the colossal dragon tore through space itself, creating an endless void, and then it impacted.
Darla and the others raised their defensive shields, only for the mere shockwave to impact a second later.
BOOM!!!
An explosive sound that seemed to want to destroy the world itself impacted on their shields, blasting every single cultivator back. What was worse was that, since they were close, Yasenia's breath was about to reach them.
It was here that the petite girl who had been sweet and obedient in Yasenia's arms appeared before them. Her windblown, long blonde hair moved back as she slowly raised her hand. "[Shield]."
A bloody crystal shield tens of kilometers tall manifested, clashing against Yasenia's Celestial Dragon Breath and surprisingly blocking it. While cracks appeared all around it, the shield protected everyone present perfectly.
Everyone's eyes turned toward the calm, petite blonde girl with scared looks. Even Evelyn was looking at Angel with surprise. 'While I feel that I could also somewhat block the breath, it wouldn't be as effortless…. What was that? [Shield]? A single word and it's blocked? It seems that Angel has also developed into a terrifying monster.'
When all phenomena stopped, everyone quickly looked and then felt their breaths hitching. In the place where the mountain and ocean stood, there was now a massive abyss. The ocean around was actually spreading out, showing the seabed below because of the explosive strength, creating a terrifying sight.
Darla spoke, breathless, her eyes moving up to look at the gargantuan, indifferent dragon. "What… is this?"
