Outside the city, Evelyn's former master stood with crossed arms and waiting. She knew that the other side had noticed them. Therefore, she waited for them to approach without making any declaration.
Either way, they had time. While the Demonic and Righteous sides were at odds, like in most worlds, they didn't attack each other easily. There was a kind of balance maintained, so without direct provocation, the leaders of both sides would not fight each other.
Chen Tian's father also looked down with a deep frown, waiting for his son to appear. He was both proud and exasperated with this son. Among all his children, Chen Tian was probably one of, if not the most talented.
However, for some reason, this son of his went crooked and fell in love with a criminal! While Evelyn was not a wanted person when they first met, once Evelyn's status changed, Chen Tian's father had hoped he would give up on the girl.
Who knew that instead of giving up, he would become defensive of her!?
So, he was incredibly disappointed. Not to the extent of wanting something to happen to him, but to the point that he was considering giving the head of the family to another son, even if they were less talented.
Soon, Evelyn and the rest of the group appeared in front of the group of over 500 Sixth Realm cultivators. Seeing Evelyn appear so brazenly and without a disguise, most leaders present glared at her.
Yasenia noticed the gazes, but she didn't speak up, only noting them down in her heart.
Meanwhile, Evelyn looked at the main woman with a complicated expression. Did she resent her former master for sending people to hunt her down? Evelyn would not deny that she indeed harbored some unpleasantness. However, at the same time, she understood the reasoning, so her current feelings were not nearly close to hatred.
"Master Darla."
Darla spoke coldly to her, her eyes impassive. "Do not call me that, Evelyn. You made your choice, so you have to live with it."
Evelyn's face became a bit complex. She sighed and spoke. "Didn't I tell you several times over that the crown is something from my inheritance? It is impossible for me to give it up."
Darla answered, her tone without ripples. "Is it yours because you say it? Is it okay to steal something after you say it's yours because you feel like it? Evelyn, I didn't take you in as a disciple for you to rob us."
In a way, Darla and the others were on the "right" side of the coin. If one were to speak objectively, Evelyn was in the wrong about what happened.
Sadly, cultivation was not entirely about rights or wrongs. Sometimes, one needed to take action regardless of what was morally correct.
Evelyn shook her head and sighed. "Master… Sect Master Darla, I will give you one piece of advice. Leave. You are not our match. If you make the incorrect choice today, I won't be able to save your life."
This warning was Evelyn's last kindness toward Darla for the time they were together. When she arrived here and applied to join, seeing her talent, Darla had taken her in as a personal disciple and given her a decent amount of cultivation resources.
It was this talent that allowed Evelyn to eventually learn about the crown and get it. Of course, thanks to her inheritance, Evelyn knew that there was something of "Hers" in this area, which is why she chose Darla's sect in the first place.
When a nearby sect master heard her, he laughed in anger. "Even at this point, you are trying to make excuses. Evelyn, you robbed us of our strongest treasure, and now you act righteous. You are nothing but utter scum. You deserve to die!"
Yasenia could bear people looking down on Evelyn because it was just a gaze. She could hold back during the conversation, even when these people were coveting Evelyn's things because of Evelyn's past relationships.
However, insulting her precious Dear?
Yasenia, who was standing by Evelyn's side, looked in the direction of that sect master and spoke coldly. "Kill that person. His breath bothers me."
It was then that everyone finally noticed Yasenia and the others. They had been restraining their auras until now so that Evelyn could speak calmly with these people. They were there, and the rest noticed them. Still, they didn't really catch anyone's attention.
This was thanks to Yasenia's increasingly high control of charm energy and each maid's ability to restrain their presence.
When Yasenia spoke, that Sect Master snorted. "What can you—"
Behind him, Doriel and ten other maids appeared with cold eyes. Then, before he could react, his body was pierced by their weapons, and they snatched him away and gave him to Yasenia.
Darla, witnessing everything, felt her steady heart tremble. It was not their speed, which was already abnormal. The reason she was stunned was that these maids had crossed their formation as if it wasn't there to kill!
'How did they do that? Aren't they trapped inside this sealing formation?'
Yasenia scanned the corpse in front of her, stealing the spatial ring before scattering him into ashes with a gentle puff of her dragon flames. "Hm… quite poor. Does this person keep his things in his sect?"
Evelyn blinked and felt her lips twitch. "Ahem. Yasenia, love, can you not kill for a bit?"
Yasenia looked at Evelyn and pouted. "But he insulted you."
Evelyn smiled, exasperated and feeling her heart warm. "Just… give me a minute. Alright, love?"
Seeing her expression, our dragoness naturally became obedient. She nodded at her, making Evelyn smile.
Meanwhile, Darla looked at Yasenia and became dazed. Yasenia, who was finally noticed, instantly stopped restraining her charm, but she also didn't allow it to flow freely. She was just in a "normal" state.
Though even this state was lethally attractive.
Evelyn snapped her out of her momentary daze. "Sect Master Darla. As you've seen, we are strong. I am warning you because I really don't want to see so many of you die, even though I am a touch resentful of your persecution. Other than the
Yasenia recalled that Evelyn's gaze back then, and she squinted.
Darla asked the question Yasenia wanted to know. "
Evelyn shrugged. "The rest of you were hunting me for the crown. Only that lot was trying to get me to serve them. As you know, the Waving Thunder Cloud Sect has a Dual Cultivation branch within."
The moment she stopped speaking, everyone felt as if air itself was solidifying. Looking at Yasenia's stormy look, everyone gulped in fear.
While Yasenia would be angered if people coveted her lovers, those who coveted Evelyn were worse. The reason was that Yasenia was not accustomed to having her mischievous girl coveted by others. After all, Evelyn had not been a beautiful girl. Therefore, gazes toward her were never in that direction.
So, when people coveted Evelyn, Yasenia's feelings became stormy. It was almost as bad as when people coveted Cecile.
The fact that she didn't kill Chen Tian straight away was all due to Sierra and Zepheryth, who were clearly somewhat fond of the boy, which showed he was not a bad man. So, she restrained that murderous feeling.
Now? There were no limitations.
"Where is that sect?"
Yasenia asked, her voice chilling enough that even the maids felt their spines tingle. Evelyn had not expected such an explosive reaction, but deep inside, she was secretly rejoicing.
Evelyn, like a child pointing at the person who wronged her, shamelessly lifted her finger and pointed in a certain direction. "It's them!"
All gazes converged toward a group of twelve. Among these twelve, there was also that charming woman who spoke in the meeting.
That charming woman wanted to speak. However, before she could open her mouth, they saw Yasenia raising her leg and pushing down.
BOOM!
The sealing formation collapsed helplessly when Yasenia impacted against it. The next instant, she was in front of the charming woman. Although now that she and Yasenia were face to face, the beauty of that woman suddenly became dim.
Those previously infatuated by her suddenly sobered up as if someone had splashed them with cold water. The difference in beauty between the tall dragon woman and she were just that far apart.
"I will give you one chance to live. Tell me who the masterminds were who wanted to capture my Evelyn, and I will let you live."
The woman looked up at the dragon woman who was over a head taller than herself, and her teeth began chattering. She didn't even notice though, as Yasenia's golden slit eyes had pinned her existence like a predator holding down its small prey.
"T-T-They are fr-from the second b-b-branch."
A dignified Sixth Level Transcendence Realm cultivator stuttering in fear. If someone ever told the people of this planet such a thing, they would laugh it off as a good joke.
Yet, in front of that terrifyingly tyrannical oppression, no one present felt that the woman had reacted wrongly. Darla brought herself up to speak. "You are part of those mysterious people who arrived a few months ago, right? What is your objective?"
Yasenia turned toward Evelyn's former master without any warmth in her eyes. This woman was the one who had actually denied her Dear of her treasures and then caused her to be persecuted. Honestly, if Evelyn didn't have some clear fondness for her, the one trembling wouldn't be the charming woman but Darla.
"My objective was to pick up my wife, Evelyn. I didn't know that my wife was being chased around, and while I really want to blow up half of this world with a punch for that, I will hold back. Tell me, where is this woman's sect? I will vent my feelings over there."
Darla was about to speak when a dark shadow manifested behind Yasenia, piercing a sword toward her back.
"Die, [Earth Phantom Thrust]."
The man who attacked was from an assassin sect, who thought he had taken Yasenia by surprise.
However, as he was manifesting, Yasenia's tail had already begun moving. Attacking Yasenia from behind? That was not a blind spot.
"[Celestial Sunder]."
Azure light manifested behind her, and the man who attacked Yasenia was enveloped in it, disappearing from the world.
Yasenia didn't even look away from Darla as her lips arched coldly. "I also want to know who that was and his sect. They don't need to exist anymore."
Darla pursed her lips, her gaze incredibly conflicted. The energy released from Celestial Sunder had been brutal enough to shatter space behind Yasenia, creating a massive black void that was slowly repairing.
"Tell her."
Darla heard Evelyn's words. Looking over, she saw Evelyn shaking her head. "Sect Master Darla. This is beyond you. Tell her, and it will be just two sects. I will tell her to hold back and not cause too much environmental damage as well. Believe me, you wouldn't be able to defeat her even if all the experts in the world gathered."
Someone asked, unconvinced. "What if that attack was her limit—"
"[Celestial Sunder]."
The person who opened their mouth was erased ruthlessly, Yasenia's golden eyes still on Darla. "That makes three sects. Do you want to keep testing my bottom line?"
Everyone turned so silent that breathing could be heard, their hearts thumping in fear.
At the side, Chen Tian's father was utterly relieved that he had not opened his mouth, since he had also believed that Yasenia's [Celestial Sunder] was some sort of ultimate skill.
