Chapter 1 - Chapter 01: Kevin NIDAY

15th April 54, 4th era.

TOC! TOC!

"Your highness, you should wake up," a girl wearing a maid outfit with classic black hair was knocking on the door of the fifth quarter in the royal family palace.

*POV CHANGE: KEVIN

Opening my eyes, I looked around with curiosity. I didn't know who I was or where exactly I was; it seemed to be kind of a room for nobility. Looking around, I noticed chairs, sofas, mirrors, a dressing area near my bed and the window.

I began to think hard about who I was, got up and sat in front of the biggest mirror. It at that time that I saw my appearance, a 2-3-year-old child with blond hair and dark blue eyes;

'hmmm, I'm somewhat handsome; that's good. At least I won't have to worry about girls in the future.'

During the time I finished admiring myself in the mirror, a maid pushed the door open from the outside and entered the room, I think it was her who woke me up, she opened her mouth to say something but before I could hear what she wanted to tell me, I began to see fragments of memories along with a headache, I couldn't care less about what she wanted to tell me as I my body failed me, I dropped on my knees then lying down and began writhing in pain with blood flowing out of my eyes and ears. She approached me and I blacked out. The last thing I saw before blacking out was this screen :

[Beep, host has awakened.]

17th April 54, same era.

In the Emperor's study room, some people were discussing something.

"So what do you think happened to the fourth?" The emperor was looking through the window behind his desk, admiring the beauty of the inner garden. In his eyes there was a hint of weariness and empathy because he was hoping his fourth child would get out of his low state soon even though his mother, the 2nd concubine, died just a month ago.

"Your Majesty, I don't know. I think it can be a relapse of his depression caused by his mother's death," says a subject.

"How about calling the imperial magister to inspect him?" Then another.

"I think it could work, but it will take some time for him to come because he should be at the magic tower," and another.

And before the emperor could answer, a noise stopped him.

KNOCK! KNOCK!

"Enter", a man entered the emperor's study after hearing his answer.

"Your Majesty, the fourth prince has awoken," replied the servant with a rugged breath from running when coming.

"Is he alright? Let's go and see." The five got out of the study and directed themselves to the fourth prince's quarter.

---

About an hour or so in the fourth child's room.

'Zero, arrange the memories of Baldur and make a file with the name 'basics''.

[The classification of memories is finished; would you have them transferred to you?]

'Yes'.

After ten minutes or so, he finally knew what was going on.

'Apparently, I'm in the body of the second imperial prince and fourth children of the king.'

'Second life huh?'

While thinking, he got up and began flexing his articulations to adapt to his new body.

'Hmm, this body is good, I think. If I take some time, by the time I'm seven, I should be at least a Grand Knight, if not on the path to be a rank 3 apprentice..... But now I should resolve the situation caused by me blacking out days ago. Okay, let's inform them; we will see how to get stronger later.'

Outside the door of the second imperial prince was a servant who, every hour, should check on the prince's situation. Actually, he was praying for the betterment of the prince when all of a sudden he heard, "HEO? Is there someone?" 'Huh? It's the...' Opening the door behind him, he saw a young boy with the signature blonde hair of the imperial family, but contrary to the blue pupils he had before, the child now has blood-red ones.

" Your majesty please wait a moment I will go and inform the king", initiating a bow he left the room in hurry in direction of the emperor's study room.

While the servant began to run toward the emperor's, Kevin was thinking about the discovery he made while inspecting his body when he was flexing his muscles and articulations; he discovered that the previous owner of the body had been poisoned.

'Hmm, although I doubt these past memories would harm me in the future, I think it's better to at least figure out how and who poisoned him because there should be a link between this and his mother's death. Like this, I'll be able to live in peace. Yes, that's a good idea. When they come and ask me questions, I'll just tell them some symptoms of the poison and put the accent on the fact that Mother had nearly the same because, from what I recall, by the end of her days, the Emperor found a cure for this poison.

'huh? Wait, Mother..... it seems by thinking about giving justice to Myla (this body's mother), I inadvertently began to integrate myself into this world,..... haaaa it's been long since I had people I could call family; let's hope this one is not too bad.' After having finished thinking, a look of reminiscence, sorrow, pity and anger was displayed by Kevin, all of that interrupted by the opening of the door and the entrance of four people; the first two were his maid and the servant who went to report, and the latter, according to the memories he received, were the emperor and the chief of the imperial medics.

Entering the room was the group of four led by the emperor, who, with red-tiered eyes, took Kevin in his embrace.

"Son... are you alright?"

"Yes, Father, I'm alright," Kevin replied, his voice steady despite the whirlwind of emotions swirling within him. He could feel the warmth of his father's embrace, a stark contrast to the cold reality he had just awakened to.

The emperor pulled back slightly, searching his son's eyes for any signs of lingering pain or distress. "You scared us, my son. We thought we might lose you too," he said, his voice thick with concern."

The emperor's expression shifted from worry to determination. "We will find the truth, Kevin. You are not alone in this. We will uncover the mystery behind what happened to you."

Kevin nodded, feeling a sense of resolve wash over him. He was no longer just a child; he was a prince with a purpose. "Thank you, Father. I want to help. I want to make sure this never happens again."

The chief of the imperial medics stepped forward, his face serious. "Your Highness, we need to conduct a thorough examination to ensure there are no lingering effects from the poison. It's crucial we act quickly."

As the medics began their work, Kevin felt a flicker of hope ignite within him. This was his chance to have a good life and to uncover the truth behind the shadows that loomed over him.
