Position twenty-three sat twelve feet from the northern gate's eastern hinge tower, where the load path from the gate's counterweight mechanism ran through the same section of wall the installation needed to bond to.
Zul'jinn had known this position would be the hardest since his first survey of the arc, weeks ago. He had saved it for last on purpose.
"The gate's counterweight system runs on a release cycle every time the gate opens or closes," he said to Arka'garr, the morning before the application. "Six hours of cure means the gate cannot operate during that window."
"Six hours with the northern gate closed."
"Six hours with the northern gate not moving. It can stay open or stay closed, whichever you prefer. It cannot do both."
