Chapter 56 - Daily life of Asahi-sensei~ pt 2

In the living room.

Amaterasu calmly placed the drinks on the table one by one.

The porcelain cups made soft clinking sounds as she arranged them neatly in front of the guests.

Then suddenly—

"I'M TRULY SORRY!"

Yagami shouted while bowing at a perfect 45-degree angle.

The shout echoed through the living room.

Asahi blinked.

"Assistant editor, huh?" he said, glancing at Rentarou.

Rentarou adjusted his glasses slightly.

"Yes," he replied calmly. "He's a new hire."

"I see."

Rentarou leaned slightly closer and lowered his voice.

"I didn't know you had such a beautiful maid here," he whispered, briefly glancing toward Amaterasu in the kitchen.

Asahi smirked.

"She's a distant relative of Tet. She came with us from Italy and takes care of things around the house now."

Then, with a teasing tone—

"What? Do you fancy her?"

Rentarou adjusted his glasses again, unfazed.

"Unfortunately, I'm loyal to my wife. We already have two children, so your teasing won't work on me, you brat."

He paused, then added more softly,

"But it's good to know you have someone reliable looking after you."

Meanwhile, Yagami straightened himself and nervously adjusted his tie.

"M-My name is Yagami Kazutake! I joined the company this year!" he said quickly.

He bowed again, though not as dramatically this time.

"I'm a big fan of your work, Weeb-sensei! I may not have much experience yet, but I will do my best! I look forward to working with you!"

Tet clapped lightly with a cheerful grin.

"Oh? Quite energetic for a newbie."

Yagami blinked in surprise as she spoke to him directly.

Tet leaned forward across the table, resting her chin on her hands.

"So," she said playfully, her mismatched eyes glimmering with curiosity,

"What do you like about our work?"

The sudden question caught Yagami off guard.

"Ah—yes!" he replied quickly. "My favorite is Naruto! The way you draw, the explanations about ninjas—it's all really cool! Especially the rivalry between Naruto and Sasuke!"

"Oho~?"

Tet leaned forward like a cat spotting prey.

"So your favorite work… is Naruto?"

Yagami stiffened.

Tet tilted her head slightly, her eyes sparkling.

"Then tell me—what's the name of Naruto's first teacher? The one who first acknowledged him?"

Yagami blinked, then answered immediately.

"Iruka-sensei."

Tet smirked.

"Good… now, what's Naruto's signature jutsu?"

"Shadow Clone Technique!" Yagami replied confidently.

"Hmm, impressive," Tet said, clapping lightly. "And his rival?"

"Sasuke Uchiha!"

"And his village?"

"Konoha! The Hidden Leaf Village!"

Tet leaned back, clearly amused.

"I see… he really does know his stuff."

Asahi, who had been quietly sipping his chocolate milk, finally spoke.

"Huh… he got everything right."

He raised an eyebrow.

"Looks like he actually knows what he's talking about."

Yagami straightened proudly.

"I do my best to keep up with the classics, Asahi-sensei!"

Tet grinned.

"Alright, last question—what's Naruto's dream?"

"To become Hokage! The leader of the village!"

Tet clapped her hands.

"Perfect. You pass. I approve!"

Yagami let out a breath of relief, sweat forming on his forehead.

Then, gathering his courage, he held up a worn manga.

"Uh… Asahi-sensei… could you… sign this for me?"

Asahi smiled.

"Sure."

He took the Naruto Volume 20 and signed it.

"You've got good taste," he added.

Yagami's face lit up.

"T-Thank you so much!"

Tet leaned back, grinning.

"Not bad for a newbie."

After a moment, Asahi turned toward Rentarou.

"So, what brings you here, Rentarou-san? I already submitted the advance chapter. Is there something wrong?"

Rentarou adjusted his glasses.

"No, your work is good as ever. That's not why I came."

He paused slightly.

"I received some important news from the office yesterday… and I wanted to tell you personally."

Asahi tilted his head.

"What is it?"

Rentarou smiled faintly.

"Anime adaptation."

Asahi froze.

"…Anime adaptation?"

"Yes," Rentarou continued, his eyes bright.

"Several companies are interested in your works. Dragon Ball, Naruto, and Ghost Fighter. They're willing to meet your conditions if you agree to collaborate."

"..."

~Silence.

Rentarou watched him carefully.

This should have been a moment of excitement.

But instead—

Asahi looked conflicted.

"…So, this is it," he muttered quietly.

Rentarou frowned slightly.

"Is something wrong?"

Asahi rubbed the back of his neck.

"It's not bad news," he said. "But… do I really have to attend the meeting?"

He paused.

"And does Mayo-san already know?"

Rentarou nodded.

"I've already discussed it with Mayo-san and the higher-ups. Everything will be handled under strict confidentiality."

He continued calmly,

"Only the relevant production company representatives, supervisors, myself, you—and Yagami—will attend. The meeting is simply to hear your opinion and get your approval."

Asahi listened quietly.

"…I see."

"So… what's your decision?"

He exhaled softly.

"Then that's fine. I just want my identity to remain hidden."

"Of course," Rentarou replied. "Everything will be handled discreetly."

Tet leaned toward Yagami and whispered with a grin,

"You hear that? Even a Weeb-sensei gets nervous about meetings."

Yagami nodded nervously.

"I… I'll do my best."

Asahi sipped his chocolate milk, watching them both with a faint smile.

After a while of discussion, the conversation naturally came to an end.

Rentarou rose from his seat first, smoothing out his coat, while Yagami quickly followed, still clutching his signed manga like a prized treasure.

"We've taken enough of your time," Rentarou said politely. "We'll head back now."

Asahi gave a small nod from his seat.

"Yeah. Thanks for coming."

Yagami straightened and bowed again—this time a little less explosively than before.

"Th-Thank you very much, Asahi-sensei! I'll do my best moving forward!"

Tet waved lazily from her chair.

"Don't mess up next time, newbie~"

"I-I won't!" Yagami replied, flustered.

Amaterasu, who had been quietly observing, stepped forward.

"I will see you out."

Her voice was calm and composed.

She led them toward the entrance, her presence serene as ever.

The door slid open with a soft sound.

A gentle breeze from the late afternoon drifted inside.

Rentarou gave a respectful nod.

"Thank you for the hospitality."

Yagami bowed once more, still clearly overwhelmed by everything that had just happened.

Amaterasu inclined her head slightly.

"Please take care on your way."

With that, the two stepped outside.

The door closed quietly behind them.

And just like that—

The house returned to silence once more.

Asahi set his sweet drink down.

Tet did the same.

They looked at each other.

Then—

"WE GOT AN ANIME ADAPTATION!!!"

"WOOOOOO!!!"

Tet jumped up onto the table without hesitation, arms raised like she'd just won a championship match.

Asahi actually laughed out loud, pumping his fist once.

"…Finally, all these years!"

Tet spun dramatically.

"From manga… to ANIME!"

She pointed at him like a host announcing a grand reveal.

"Our works are evolving!"

Asahi grinned, unable to hide it.

"…Yeah."

For once, he didn't even try to act calm.

But before the celebration could escalate further—

A soft voice cut in.

"…May I ask something?"

Both of them froze mid-celebration.

Tet was still standing on the table.

Asahi still half-standing from his chair.

Slowly—

They turned.

Amaterasu stood there, calm as ever, watching them.

Tet blinked.

"…Oh."

Asahi scratched his cheek and sat back down.

"…What is it?"

Amaterasu stepped closer, her expression thoughtful.

"If you are capable of creating this 'anime' yourselves…"

Her gaze shifted to Tet.

"…why rely on others?"

".." 2x

Tet glanced at Asahi, making an eye signal to answer her question.

"Oh, that. Yeah, I'm sure Tet can do it by extracting the video I watched before and submit it to them."

Amaterasu listened quietly.

Tet also listened with expectation.

"But then…"

A small grin formed.

"…Where's the fun in that?"

Amaterasu blinked.

"…Fun?"

Tet nodded, agreeing with Asahi.

Asahi continued calmly,

"If we just hand over the the video perfectly…"

He shrugged.

"The company will get suspicious. And more importantly…"

"…It's boring."

"Exactly." Tet grinned.

"We want to see how this world makes it."

Amaterasu's eyes narrowed slightly.

"…This world?"

Asahi nodded.

"You know, Amaterasu, in my previous life and this one…there's not much difference on this world's surface from mine."

"Same industry. Same structure."

Asahi noticed, over the years, all industry, economics, and companies in the '90s were growing the same, except one thing:

The entertainment industry.

Sure, all the movies and series he knew in his previous life exist here, but there is something lacking—

Anime & Manga doesn't exist here… not properly.

Anime & Manga is not famous here in these world.

There are some games in 90s some are exist.

All the works he knew are nowhere to be found.

Only some magical girl, drama, and romance manga are popular in this section.

That's why he decided years ago to spread it.

Some people begun comparing the current trending magical girl series and his works, which caused an uproar in the entertainment industry.

Then his gaze sharpened just a little.

"…The only difference is that this world has things hidden beneath it."

"Supernatural stuff aside…"

She waved her hand.

"Anyway, all production for making anime is exist."

Tet smirked.

"Studios, animators, all artists and composers—everything."

Asahi nodded.

"…Which means we can build something here."

"Sure, our purpose in doing this is to spread anime to our fellow Otaku thats why Tet and I decided that if an anime adaptation came, we'd make sure to guide them to make it and not use magic or anything unnecessary."

Also, it is one of Asahi's wish list items to make the anime.

Tet raised a finger.

"And there's more reason for that."

She grinned mischievously.

"We don't just make anime…"

A small pause.

"We influence the industry."

Amaterasu watched her closely, surprised too.

"…Influence?"

Tet's smile widened.

"That's right! The key to that is Mayo-san."

"Mayo-san? You mean the child of Chiyo and Ichirou?"

"Ding! Dong! You got it right, Ama-chan."

Asahi's eyes shifted slightly.

"…Right. You didn't officially meet her due to her work. Apparently, Mayo-san is working in the entertainment industry where we submit our work."

Amaterasu started understanding what Asahi was saying.

"So, she's been supporting us from the start?"

Tet nodded.

"She is one of the major shareholders of the weekly shonen company and protects our identities as authors. She is also our business partner in other investments."

Her tone softened just a little.

"If our works expand—anime, merchandise, everything—"

She pointed lightly at the table.

"More success means more profit."

Asahi continued quietly.

"…Which means we can support her more, and eventually, she'll take over the company."

Amaterasu blinked.

"Taking over?"

Tet's grin widened—like a playful demon queen plotting absolute domination.

"That's right. After we take over the company, we should spread our work to the people." Her eyes gleamed as she raised a finger dramatically.

"…Then the entertainment industry…"

She leaned back, throwing her arms wide.

"…and finally—"

Tet's laugh grew louder, echoing around the room like a villain in a shonen battle.

"…THE WORLD!!! WHAHAHAHA!! All people will worship us and kneel to our greatness—" She threw her head back and cackled like a true Demon King of Media.

PSSTTTT!HIT!

"Itaii!" Tet yelped, patting the sore spot.

Asahi, calm as ever, raised a massive paper fan—imbued with Haki—and lightly smacked the back of her head.

"When did we plant that? Don't believe such nonsense, Amate—" He paused as he saw Amaterasu's expression shift.

Her golden eyes widened, a sudden revelation dawning.

"I… I understand now!" she whispered, almost to herself.

"What a grand scheme… As expected of a Demon King! Instead of dominating by force, you invade hearts of the people by creating a book… tailored to their liking… O Heaven…!?" muttering to herself in awe and terror at Asahi and Tet, misunderstanding growing.

"Exactly!"

Tet resumed her Demon King pose after recovering from the fan smack, jumping onto the table with renewed vigor.

Then Tet raised her hand to Amaterasu, offering her to join.

"JOIN ME(US), Ama-chan. Let's dominate the world together."

Amaterasu was about to take her hand when suddenly—

HIT!HIT!HIT!

Asahi quickly ambushed behind Tet again, slapping her head three more times take down and sighing.

"Itaiii!* Thats hurt, Asahi"

"One more word..I will take you pudding." Asahi smiling at Tet inside of his smile were leaking his magic power.

"Im Sorry" Tet immediately return to her seat like behave child

"sigh Now, the hero slays the Demon King before her invasion. Amaterasu, could you give me more chocolate milk and make some dessert please?"

"R-right away." Amaterasu came back to normal quickly went to the kitchen and refilled his glass.

"Yay! Dessert" Tet behave like a child went to cheer once more.

Amaterasu learn now how terrifying of his master is.

Asahi just returned to his seat, enjoying his drink once more.
