It's true. I've been trying really hard to activate my powers but I can't do it. When I asked Robin for some pointers, all she said was that simply willing it to happen does the trick.
Now I'm no expert in these things, but isn't that exactly what those shounen protagonists would say when they get a power up?
Is Robin the protagonist of this world?
Hmm...thought for later, let's get back to training the archeologist.
"Try to feel the energy inside your body and direct it to your hand like this."
She looked intently at my hand as I hardened my hand with haki and my skin turned dark in color.
"This should help you in hitting logias like crocodile and also act as defense."

We trained and discussed many things as we sailed. Robin was astonished by my ideas to try implement haki in liquids in order to gain better control over it.
She explained that there should be better ways to train haki than spreading it in water and I was thankful for that. Turns out my idea was kinda dumb.
"So where do we go now captain?"
"The log pose is pointing upwards."
"So we go up?"
"Yes."
"Question is how to go there."
"I could make a giant tree to carry the ship, but problem is I don't know how high we have to go to reach our destination, I could run out of chakra."
"There must be an alternate way."
"Hmm...get the mini submarine."

I wish I could swim. The fishes underwater swimming above sea monsters created a frightening yet mesmerizing sight. One thing I noticed was that the water temperature underground was hot as indicated by the submarine.
I'm not a geologist but this is definitely not normal. The deeper you go, the colder it should be, I could simply pass it off as another phenomena of the grand line but I still held hope in science.
Which means there must be some big active underwater volcanoes and Oh Boy was it 'big'.
It wasn't one big volcano, it was a cluster of volcanoes in one place. It was unique but it wouldn't help me in getting to the sky so I came back to the ship.
However after hearing about what I saw in there, robin interjected by saying we could 'ride' the upstream when the volcanoes erupt to reach the sky. I was skeptical about it but seeing the excited gleam in her eyes, I relented.
I really have a soft spot for cute things huh...
I hope I don't grow too attached to her, after all I am immortal so I either have to see her die of old age or perhaps she sees me committing suicide after I reach my goal.
No.
I won't let it happen. She IS my crewmate so I have some responsibility. A captain can't let his/her crew see him being miserable. I'll make sure she stays happy before it's time to say goodbye.

We spent the rest of our days right above those volcanoes waiting for it to erupt. Robin now has a good control over her fruit powers and senses. She seems to have developed the ability to detect the upcoming attacks, it's something like a danger sense. She said it can be further developed and so we started helping each other in training.
I would attack her while she is blindfolded. She didn't complain even once as I beat the daylights out of her with a bat but I could tell she was fuming internally. To develop the same senses I also asked her to do the same and she 'happily' agreed.
It was hell...
This bitch would use her devil fruit powers to hinder my movements, grow hands randomly and hit my jaw to disorient me and while I'm down she would use her fruit power to grow a huge arm and punch me. I didn't even know she could do that...
I couldn't see due to the blindfold but I was sure this devil was grinning like a crazy soccer fan who got his health insurance before climbing over the fence and starting a fight with the referee for giving his favorite player the red card while the other fans follow suit and start a riot, ending everything with the player still getting the red card, the referee with a black eye and the fans fight each other to get hospitalized.
Finally after a week of waiting we saw the volcano about to erupt. It wasn't easy to stay in this place out in the open where anyone could see us and report to the marines.
I had to use water jutsu to crush the ships nearby the moment we saw them.
Bracing ourselves we got ready for the upstream. I had to say I was surprised. Robin's idea actually worked! Holy shit!
The ship was literally flying. We had to take down the sails to make sure air resistance doesn't slow us down and also maintain the ship in position. It would've been impossible if not for my clones.
Reaching the sky we were now floating on top of clouds...

You must think I'm crazy huh but I have nothing to say except its true. We were now sailing on clouds.
I decided to just sail in a random direction until we see something in the 'cloudy horizon' but that wasn't necessary as we were approached by an old man who screamed of 'NPC villager who helps character to complete quest'.
Get it....

Anyways the man called Gan Fall told us about the island and explained about the currency. He showed us the way to enter this place and....yea the dude was helpful.
Now paying the toll wasn't a problem when you have genjutsu so I did the obvious....well I tried. I tried to do that but it didn't work. The people of this island had wings...like real wings along with a damn good mental defense.
The wings were useless though. They reminded me of chickens with their small wings honestly. They told us about their culture and something about upper yard which entered my ear and passed through the other. Robin was the only one paying attention to their rants while I was thinking of confronting the one strong enough to make my hair stand on end ever since I came up here.
I wonder if I can do it or not...
