Chapter 10 - Wheel of misfortune 3

Both my jaw, and my heart dropped, the faces in the crowd had become similar to mine. I felt dizzy, I was going to fall over, wasn't I? I had to keep my cool. I saw the board…

Where are the boxes..? The- They are- WHY CAN'T I SEE THE BOXES

"Oh, if you could see them, it'd narrow it down too little for you, wouldn't it? Don't worry, the answer SHOULD be obvious to you..."

I couldn't stop shaking, what was going on? "Was" never mind that, I haven't seen her in YEARS, jesus no, this was not going well. Not well at all. I grasped the wheel, momentarily using it to help me relax. This was a horrible time. I gritted my teeth once more… Most car colors have an 'e' in them, except for maybe black. I'll have to buy a vowel.. I swung the wheel, watching it spin this time with much fear and anxiety…

No.

No NO, NO NONONONONONONONONONO FUCKFUCKFUCKFUCKFUCK

I stared at the wheel, I couldn't glance away. -2 heads. LOSING TWO HEADS? Fuck, we- This is horrible, all the rewards wouldn't be useful without those two. However, HOWEVER, I may get away with winning them back, or even better, I could- I could get more than 2 heads! Yes, yes, I can- I can fucking do this, come on…

"I'm gonna buy a vowel..." I said, barely capable of keeping my composure.

"Oh?"

"I'm buying an E."

The host's smile grew wider, and wider, and wider, and it seemed to only stop when it reached the ears. "Congrats! There's no Es."

I felt like I was going to collapse. We lost two heads. Nick, Jonny, Ash. Why? Why is this happening? I bit my tongue. I got it to bleed, which made me stop. I re-assessed the situation. There's only a few colors that have no Es, that's black, pink, and indigo. Thinking back at my mom, and generally what cars have these days, it cannot be pink. Indigo and black are my best bet, however, they don't share any consonants. I'll have to risk it. A gamble that might pay off…

"I got it..." My weary voice spoke, I swung my arms along with the wheel, as I stared dead into the host's eyes. I grazed my finger against the wheel, slowing it down. I glanced as the clicking stopped on the heads again. -1 head, or -2 heads… I don't care. I have to risk this just once. "It's indigo."

The host's smile unwavered. I stared dead in its eyes, seconds passed as the tension grew wider. I knew that those in the stands were freaking out as well… Please, just let this be right-

"Correct! You won the heads back! And you got one extra." Sighs of relief were heard to my left. I was glad as well. That tension was now gone, thank fuck. I sighed. That vowel cost quite a bit. We lost 5 hands from that. We lost half of our earnings. That's fine, however. This is not horrible anymore. I grabbed the wheel and held it, my grip sure. As long as another bullshit question like that is pulled, I won't have to worry about this next round.

"Alright… Next up, this prompt may scare you even more, hehehe… What did you call your mom when you were younger?"

Fucking hell.

How MUCH YOUNGER? I gave her PLENTy of names, I even called her by her first name for a fucking month. And why my mom? What the fuck??

I thought about it. They all had Ms, so this, this I can work with. I shoved the wheel, and watched it spin…

"OOHHHH, NICE" I got immunity… Thank fuck "Great, what does this mean?"

"This round is now skipped." Really? That's.. Great, actually, jesus, that's amazing luck… If only I could have spun the game end, though…

"Y'know, it was nice to have you, honestly, your reaction was priceless. However, you earned nothing from that round, yeah? Maybe try this one.. What's your roommate's address?"

This… THESE aliens… Fucking bastards, I hated these fucking assholes. WhICH ADDRESS? HIS MOM'S OR MY OLD HOME??

I spun the wheel, I got a feel for the weight, so I tried to aim for the "game end"... However, at this point I noticed something. That "game end?" Beneath it… There was something BELOW IT. I saw a chunk of black. Deep black. It wasn't just me not seeing it properly. The game end… was a fucking scam. I should have known! It WAS too good to be true! Holy shit, how could I not know the true intentions? I just have to hope I miss it.. Please.. FUCKING MISS-

Click. Click… click…

It barely hit +1 arm… Alright, since it's HIS house, it must mean my old one, right? "Okay, Redview Morrow Drive 1354." The host put on a polite grin and said "That's right!"

Thank fucking god. "Well, it looks like you win, and you get some pretty nice rewards!" The TV screen lit up into fire-works, the lights dimming a little so you could enjoy it. The words "congratulations" were soon written on the screen, and I collapsed from exhaustion.
