Chapter 9 - Wheel of misfortune 2

"Now that everyone's in their seats, it's time to begin!"

I was seated in front of a cloth covered table, but the cloth was removed and showed a simple design. It was a wheel, like a wheel of fortune. Hey, this's not so… Fuck.

I see now, I see it, I fucking-

Surrounding the wheel… Was a list of human body parts. Fingers, arms, legs, feet, hands, and the head. Most had a -1 or -2 on them, being completely red other than the imagery. However, there were others strewn about that had +1, or "Immunity" as well as… "Game end"

However, it was too biased towards the loss of limbs. It had 50 segments. 30 were based on losing limbs, 15 were based on getting them back, 4 slots were immunity, and 1 was the end of the game. I couldn't stop myself from getting a cold sweat. This shit was too fucked up, is this.. Really what the game is about? What the hell is the point of this, if they are going to die of blood-loss? Who the hell invented this sick game??

I turned to the man. The host of the sick event. I yelled as I pulled out the dagger, rushing towards him and attempting a stab at his throat-

And it went through him?

"Oh!! Someone does NOT like that wheel.. I wonder why…. Hahahaaaaa… Give me some time at least, sir!" Suddenly, the ground below me shot up, and I was hit with quite the concussive force. The face of the hologram fell grim as I crawled back towards the chair I was on. "You see, that wheel… It decides what body part is removed from you. Of course, it's not INSTANT. However, it's not at ALL useless. See, the less body parts you have than now, the more coins EVERYONE gets, if they aren't.. Hehe, dead, that is." It hid it's mouth with it's hand before lowering it, "Well, if you can have more body parts than now, you will get a special 'reward' that gets better and better the more you have."

The TV in the back lit up, showing a diagram of what he meant.

"See, we remove the body parts after the game, and we also give something extra should you win it. Obviously, you have no room for another arm, or leg, or anything… So, we just combine them both! This increases your physical capabilities, rather, quite a lot, literally doubling it, you see? Now, of course, it's not fun without any losses, or tension, yeah? Now. You all have roughly 9 body parts each, so, that's 36! A full alphabet."

The TV expanded in size. "This IS wheel of fortune, isn't it? So, we have the prompt right here!" I quickly stood up, staring at the screen as it lit up. Quite a few blank boxes popped up, and the hologram read out the prompt "This is about cities on earth! Now, which place was the declaration of the rights of man written?"

I gritted my teeth. Thinking about how this show worked, it had been quite a while, but there's no doubt about it, I knew that fucking answer.

I spun the wheel. Whichever it was, it doesn't matter. Solving it instantly was sure to bring me a net profit anyway. I surely hope this isn't a nasty trick at all.

Nervously, I listened to the wheel clicking. Everytime the "end game" passed, I felt my heart skip a beat. And every time -1 head passed, I felt a rush of relief. After a few moments, the wheel had stopped… On -2 hands. That wasn't horrible. No, in fact, I could benefit from this. I turned to the hologram.

"I'd like to solve the prompt."

The non-physical host nodded it's head. "It was on a tennis court in france." The hologram chuckled. "Survey says..."

Wrong game show, idiot. I looked at the board and letters filled the boxes quickly. It was a full solution. The hologram clapped, however, the actual sound came from the TV, actually, all sounds from him did. It would be clear unless you were in the center of the crowd.

"Well, you solved that prompt really well. There's a reason people like you here. Well, you gained 10 hands from that. Now you're at a positive of 46 body parts. However, the game show only ends on round 5, or until you get that game end, so… Expect severe losses, friend."

The look on the host's face made me go pale. That was just half the fight. Hell, this battle was far from over, and even then, there's still the war. I nervously looked back at the board, trying to steady my breathing. My partners were all listening quietly and still. Every moment here was tense. I need to get through this quickly. I tugged at the wheel, once the next prompt was said. "Longest word said in a disney media" My memory with disney was always quite well, and the answer here was obvious. I rolled another bad roll. -2 legs. Fuck, by bad, I mean complete shit.

"Fuck, it- I'm going to fill in all the blanks again. It's supercalifragilisticexpialidocious. 35 letters in total."

The host's face screamed 'this is preposterous.' However, I did not lie. The board opened itself up and filled all the blanks in. My partners were ecstatic at my accomplishments, however, the host looked quite worse for wear. It stiffly tapped it's foot on the ground, not making any sound as if they were actually a real person disguised as something else.

"Well human. Those are some big earnings, aren't they? Well, this next prompt will surely be difficult."

The bonuses were too much now, if I was able to end it here- My heart fluctuated, this time, happily. The human body can become much stronger like this, yes, this much is certainly perfect. I'd love to be able to get through this and win!

With a smirk unbeknownst to me, the host said "What was the color of your mom's car?"
