Chapter 28 - Chapter 28: Ambitious? Ha!

[Logged in as: |Moonshine|; Welcome to Satisfy.]

A new beginning. A new start. A new Moonshine.

An ambitious Moonshine.

In real life, Moon logged in at 5 p.m. in the afternoon, but in Satisfy time, it was about 8 in the morning. Way earlier than usual, she could tell that the world looked a little bit different. The sun was barely in the sky, and she could still see a little bit of red near the horizon from the sunrise that just passed. All in all though, she liked it.

"It's pretty." The little smile that she's had all afternoon has crossed over worlds, still being worn. It even looked a tad bit larger.

[You have received a whisper from Godspeed.]

'Oh no... I'm feeling déjà vu all over again...' She sincerely hoped that this message was different than before. But somewhere, somewhere behind that smiling face, she was telling herself that she wouldn't be surprised if it wasn't.

'People can be fake. Not everybody is trustworthy. Most aren't, actually.

That's what I keep telling myself... but let's give him the benefit of the doubt, for once in how long...'

Bracing herself just in case, she opened her inbox and checked the message of the only friend she has in the game.

[Godspeed -

Wassup! I see you've logged in earlier, huh! I guess you're ready for what's to come? If you are, then come and meet me up at the gate!]

'Well that was awfully... upbeat,' Moon couldn't help but think. At least it wasn't disrespectful like before.

'Perhaps he is restraining himself... I am his only friend, after all.' The kind smile on her face, which was once derived from joy, started to curve up more and more, enraptured by the inner deviousness that existed inside of Moonshine.

Moon didn't spend much time hunting yesterday, since her head was still befuddled and she couldn't really trust her self to pay attention to those she was hunting. Not trying to risk her well-being, she chose to leave an hour earlier than usual. Because of all of this, she didn't really use many potions, and her armor was still in good condition.

Feeling prepared, she made her way towards the Town Gates.

----------

"Hey-o~!"

Already catching eye of her, Godspeed yelled out his greetings to the approaching Moon.

"Yep. Completely upbeat," was all she could murmur before arriving.

Fixing her voice, she engaged with the high-level.

"Alright trainer. Tell me: What do we start with first?"

For the first time since arriving there, God's face grimaced slightly, as if not wanting to move forward with the plan.

"Well, uh..." Scratching the back of his head, he came up with something ridiculous. "Uh... yeah... Yeah! Stretch! We should definitely stretch!"

"... Stretch? Really?" Moonshine couldn't help but question her trainer's choice. They were in a video game world, after all.

"Mhm! Now follow me, I know just the place to do it." Done with his made-on-the-spot idea, God left the gates at a brisk pace.

"I already don't feel right with this..." Not really having much of a choice, she followed the questionable man.

----------

They were currently doing some high knees, because...(?)

"Alright! Another set! On the double!" yelled out Godspeed, getting used to his role of trainer.

'Nope. I'm done.'

"Godspeed. Tell me this: Why haven't we started with my actual training? You do know we have limited time, correct?" She couldn't help but let her exasperation sound.

"Wha-- how do you know this ISN'T part of the regiment, hmm?" he voiced, the fakeness evident.

"I know because it tells me if I have made progress. I don't even have a thousandth of a percent built up yet. It's already been 1 hour!"

*Si~gh* "Oh... muh gawd. Alright then. We're done here. You want your training, Moonshine? Then I'll give it to ya. But I'm not stopping until it's over, ya hear?" Unable to delay the inevitable any longer, Godspeed straightened up and prepared to start the Actual training regiment.

'Finally. We are beginning... I can't help but feel excited.'

"Haaaah.... Alright. Let's. Start. Running."

With the command, they started their jog. Their long jog. Their difficult jog. Their heavy-breathing jog. Their choking jog. Their torturous jog.

Their horrendous jog.

----------

6 hours later.

'My stamina is blinking.

I can't even feel my feet anymore.

My eyes are blind from the pouring sweat. The salt is making its way down my throat, but it just makes me thirstier and thirstier.

How long have we been running?

How far has the sun traveled?

Shit...How far have I traveled?'

One foot in front of the other. Step by step. A gait that covers 2 yards a second. The feet dragging, blistered and red, but they kept up their movement.

'How... much... longer?'

"Alright. You can rest now."

The words of the Messiah traveling through her ears, the gasping Warrior dubbed Moonshine finally came to a walk. If it could even be called that.

"Haah... gah... hah.. hugh. Ugh. Agh. Hugh!"

"Don't throw up! You'll just waste the last bits of energy that you have. We're not done yet."

In her eyes, the supposed Messiah quickly turned into an Atrocious Devil.

"Not...huh.... done... gah... yet?" Barely able to get through the revulsing of her lungs, Moon very quietly asked a question.

"What... do we have... left?"

"Just keep looking towards the horizon. While I explain, try your best to control yourself."

The only thing that she could respond with was a nod, else she would keel over right then and there.

"Mm."

'Alright.'
