( Yuuki's POV )
After I told her to map this base we were in, Felli activated her personal IS and immediately hundreds of energy petals filled the room, the beauty of that was a stark contrast to the walls of this place, which were now painted with the blood and bodies of the Betas.
I absorbed the corpses into a Thanatos coffin to make the place a little cleaner, although the blood on the walls did not disappear.
Felli: Done, map complete.
When Felli announced that she had finished her task, I returned to my human form and fell next to Felli. She had created digital screens with 2D and 3D maps of this place, the intended design of this place appeared to be a giant tower, but at this time only three levels had been built, each level contained a central room and four other sections around it; these sections were connected by a cross-shaped corridor and a long circular corridor.
We were on the first level, and there was another section filled with signs of life; that was probably where the rest of the biological weapons created here were, On the third level there was a single sign of life; that's surely the puppeteer, people who create towers for themselves always want to be at the top of those places.
In the second one is what we came to look for; in a room there were multiple signs of life placed in several lines at equal intervals of distance, that could not be a coincidence, the captured girls must be there.
Yuuki: Lisanna, Leo, do you think you can take on the big boss on your own?
Leo: The two of us together is overkill. I'll take him on. Someone has to go after the rest of the experiments here.
Lisanna: I guess it's my turn to be on cleaning duty.
With a quick conversation, we decided how we were going to move around: Leo would go to the third floor, Felli and Lisanna would stay on the first, and Matabei Jubei and I would go to the second.
Yuuki: Yuko, Sayo.
Yuko: What do you need from us, master.
Yuuki: You protect Felli.
Sayo: Noted, no one will touch the young lady.
When I called their names, my two guardians emerged from my body and I gave them the task of protecting Felli, she wasn't defenseless, but she was the least capable in battle among us, so I couldn't leave her alone.
With that sorted, I activated my IS and after Matabei and Jubei jumped on my back, I flew to the second level, to move the giant BETAs around this base, the corridors had to be enormous, making it easy to maneuver the IS.
While I was flying, I saw that the place we were going to was sealed with heavy, high-security double doors, I used my gravity control to collapse the door in on itself and all that was left of it was a ball of compressed metal.
Upon passing through the door, I found the place filled with transparent tanks containing the girls we were looking for, there were many empty tanks, and that revealed the alarming number of people our enemies wanted to capture.
In the middle of the room was a control panel being operated by a woman with long blonde hair; she was so focused on what she was doing that she didn't notice our presence.
I approached and raised my weapon, I began charging a powerful laser attack, but the woman noticed and turned around, seeing my weapon pointed at her, the woman was speechless, and her legs gave way, causing her to fall to the ground.
???: W-who are you?
Yuuki: I came to get those girls out of here, if you get in my way I'll take you out of my way.
The woman was so terrified she had trouble speaking, but then she looked at the girls behind me and recognized them.
???: Y-you, you are the ones who managed to escape before, w-wait, I'll open the rest of the capsules.
The woman seemed to want to help with our mission, and my first thought was that it was an act to save her own skin, but then I looked at the woman's aura, What I saw was a pure light that gave off a caring air, almost a maternal thing; reading auras wasn't a precise judgment of a person, but I made the decision to trust it.
I lowered my weapon and approached the woman; she was having difficulty getting up, so I grabbed her by the waist and helped her to her feet, the abrupt change in attitude towards her caused the woman to stare at me in silence.
Yuuki: Is it dangerous to extract the girls directly from the capsules?
???: eh-h ah Yes, abrupt removal of the capsules could be fatal, but I think I can remove them safely, but I need a few minutes.
[ ALERT ALERT, self-destruction activated, the place will explode in sixty seconds. ]
Ah, how nice, self-destruction, why warn us about it and give us time to escape in the first place.
Yuuki: It seems we don't have that time.
I placed a hand out and, using my technomancy, I opened all the capsules. The unconscious girls fell forward, but before they hit the floor, I opened shadow portals beneath them.
Now that they were safe inside the shadow tunnel, it was time to retreat.
???: What did you do?
Yuuki: Don't worry, they're fine, we also need to make sure we're safe.
The girls jumped on my back and I prepared to take off.
Yuuki: Matabei, did you see the one you were looking for?
Matabei: Yes, Yukimura is safe now, thank you very much, Yuuki-sama.
Yuuki: That's what I promised, isn't it?
Next to me I saw that the woman was still having difficulty walking so I picked her up and flew back to the first level.
We didn't have much time, so I told the girls to go through the portal immediately; I stayed behind to wait for Lisanna and Leo, and thirty seconds after the alarm sounded, the two of them returned to the central room.
Lisanna returned dragging the assistant who had escaped earlier, but Leo came back empty-handed.
Yuuki: Did the puppeteer escape?
Leo: He wasn't at this base from the beginning. What I faced was just a disposable body; this was inside of it.
Leo threw me a fist-sized crystal sphere that was completely black; with this, we had achieved more than we needed today.
Yuuki: Never mind, we got what we were looking for and more, mission accomplished.
*Bang* *crash*
Although sixty seconds hadn't passed, explosions began to shake the base, so the three of us also crossed through the portal.
Back at the dark guild's camp, I looked at the girls who were captured today, they were confused and scared, but they were unharmed, the girls I had just rescued were still unconscious but also seemed unharmed, then I went to our unexpected companion.
