Chapter 155: The First Tremor

Nazu's POV,
She had rehearsed this report ever since the first attack two nights ago.
She wanted to prove she was worthy.
She stated everything, just as it happened, what she used, what remained, who was useful and not.
'Juk...' She muttered silently in her mind.
They sat across from each other in the throne hall, the fire low, even the Aegis hum was still faintly audible through the walls.
He hadn't taken the throne. He'd pulled one of the chairs from the side platform and sat in it like a normal thing to do, which was a habit she'd stopped being surprised by.
"First wave came the second night after you left," she said as she stroked the chair's arm absent-mindedly. "All weak ones, ran into the walls like they were running from something else. We killed what we could from the wall and burned the rest at dawn."
