"And who might you be?" the man questioned while looking at Rak, not able to tell who was who from the masks they wore.
Once that question was asked, Rak touched the side of his mask before it melted back into the black band around his neck showing his grizzled face. Once the realization set in to who he was talking too the self important looking man started to show a trace of fear on his face.
"Even you can not get away with something like this, what made that dense brain of yours think you can make such an important decision on your own." The man said said while taking a step back.
Seeing the man's reaction to Rak everyone behind him was amazed at how even a self important higher up was afraid of him. Ignis was the only one who expected such an outcome to happen, following his master around before.
"I did not make this choice on a mere whim, David." Rak stated in a firm tone. "I am sure even you can see the destruction around here. This was the result of a fight of all of us and just one demon here, one of the weakest ones at that and stronger than Lords. What Anubis said had to be true so we need to act immediatly, with or without your say so."
"That is correct." Anubis said as he walked over, causing the man to look down at the God that comes up to his ankle in size. "Once this Demon God that has now been made awakes from his slumber and can use the power stole from us, no world is safe from his desctruction. No matter how safe you think you are."
"This is why i did what i had to do. I knew one of you would be here to give us some lip, but after seeing what we are up against you should know the stakes we are playing for. That is why i am formaly asking for reinforcement to stop this threat." Rak finished.
Seeing the man, Rak, in front of him actually asking for assistance instead of brute forcing his way through any obstacle like he has known him to do, David knew this must be true and an actual threat to everyone. As much as he valued his self image and the authority to boss people around just becuase he is one of the leaders of the strongest group on earth he still knew when to look at what was infront of him.
After listening to how the fight with the recent demon went David had a stern expresssion on his face. He might not be a combatant but even he knows how powerful the man infront of him is. He has even heard of his fame before he joined the organization over 20 years ago. If he says there is a probelem and can not handle it with the people he has at his disposal then this is a matter that likely holds all of their lives at risk.
"Fine, with the situation as it is, i can not say that making a contract with this being that can help us fight was a bad thing and im guessing you did this just to make someone come out here to meet you and see this mess. Aright, i will back your claim to the boss." David said after seeing through his ploy. Without it even he would have said nothing and say he was just making up stories. Who would expect even Gods to still be around when they have not been heard from in ages.
As he went to walk away back into the portal shining behind him the other two men he brought along had a wierd look on their faces wondering how David's stance on what happend go from rage to cooperation. Though still in the upper management they did not understand how a simple field operative can talk back to a man even higher than them like he was in fact the boss.
"But sir, they made such a discision knowing it disobeyed what you wanted, should we not punish them?" asked one of them
"You are new to such a position Osman." David said to the short man on his right "If you knew what I did about that man, you would know that no being alive could punish him. Be they demon or human."
"But he is just one man, no matter how strong he is, he can not take on the adventure organization by himself." Osman tried to reason
"Trust me Osman, without him there would be no organization anymore." David finished as he crossed over to the other side of the gate, leaving the other two men dumbstruch by his words.
